Posted: 5/11/2008 9:52:04 PM | Adjectives like "sexy" and "great-looking" are really better left unsaid. Feign some modesty and let the reader decide for herself if she thinks those things about you. (Same thing goes for calling yours a "great profile.")
Your squinty-eyed, "Dude, I'm, like, totally baked!" pics aren't doing a lot to further the whole "great-looking" and "sexy" thing. Get someone else to take some clearer pics of you in better light. it's never good to be looking DOWN at the camera.
Oh yeah, and try not to be totally baked when you do it.

Also, you only like to do certain things when you are in the mood...this reads badly. And what does the sentence starting out with "My fish, " mean? All in all, I would say this profile is mediocre, and doesn't show you in the best light possible. I would think about revision. | |

I have got to ask, OP: what could you have possibly thought when you decided to use those two pictures as your first impression to the world?! Surely this isn’t how you look all the time.
Your profile wreaks of arrogance. Your profile is Jamie. Seriously?! You thought that’d be a better solution to this problem than student would? It’s not funny, nor is it going to attract people. Your interests are fickle, and the kind you’d expect to see on a 16-18 year old’s profile. You mentioned art galleries and museums in your first date, and you are studying politics and the classics in university; surely you must have some more interests than those listed!
As mentioned, you should never say you are good looking, or say anything along the lines of I’m great at this, that, have a great xxxx, etc. Modesty goes much further than narcissism. The same goes for the whole discussion about your cabin. You have one, that’s great! Sneak it into a conversation a few emails or phone calls down the road. You might as well have told us what kind of car you drive also.
The only place I saw a glimmer of hope here was with your first date section, but you need to lose the build-up, or lack thereof. Don’t say “depends on the person”. This is a given! Just mention a number of activities you’d be interested in doing on a first date, and maybe string together a hypothetical evening for the woman to envision.
Do yourself a favour and go read the Review Tips, and then go through this and other threads for advice. Maybe check out a few of the profiles in these threads that have been fixed, as well as perhaps the reviewer’s profiles. It could do you a world of good. | |
