| Remember Them Posted: 5/12/2008 9:07:47 AM | To honor our fallen soldiers Is why there's a Memorial Day. It's not to have a cook out and To relax from work for a day.
No matter what your views on war, You must remember this. Those men and women are heroes Because they put their lives at risk
Remember them this Memorial Day. Remember those who gave their lives For they were someone's daughter or son. Some were husbands, some were wives.
They stood for what they thought was right. They died for freedom's sake. They stood so that we might have A brighter future for our children to take.
Remember them who gave their lives. Remember them that now are gone. Remember that they fought for you So freedom could go on.

| Remember Them Posted: 5/12/2008 7:49:46 PM | It sickens me that 'THE GREAT BRITISH PUBLIC' and its 'GOVERNMENT' treat their forces like an embarrassment. Pensions get less and less. Our last military hospital has closed down. Now it's just the NHS. I'm not saying NO ONE in the country accepts these brave men and women, greets them, cheers for them and looks up to them, but it is on a small stage. You guys, AMERICANS, you have it right on the head there. It is on a COUNTRY-WIDE STAGE. A WORLD STAGE. THANKYOU, The American Public, for setting the example. You show pride. PRIDE! These brave souls go out not knowing if they are going to come back and all the Brit public can do is wswitch on the tv and have a moan about something else. Everytime I cycle pass the memorial in my town centre I get these looks. Sorry. Shit. I apologise if I have spoiled the Mood of this thread. I understand its importance. It just gets my blood boiling, you know?

| Remember Them Posted: 5/14/2008 10:30:15 AM | Sadly, my friend, there a few in the U.S. who do not support the men and women who put their lives on the line for freedom. They look more at the politcal reasons and not the over all importance of what is being done, fighting for democracy. And then, of course, we have young folks who don't understand why we have a Memorial Day and don't care. It's just a day off from school or work for them.
I wrote that piece to remind these folks why we have the holiday.

| Remember Them Posted: 5/14/2008 3:17:29 PM | A lot of people blame the guys (women included in that name tag) for going over to these places. They haven't a choice, as you know, Scryer. But as Bill Hicks said:
"Go back to sleep, America. Here, watch this. Shut up. Go back to sleep, America." I am not singling out America here, it is just what Hicks said, k?! : )
I was reading an email the other day about the importance of not forgetting WWII. More and more people are starting to believe it is a MYTH!!!
CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!?!?!?! SWITCH OFF THAT DAMN TV!!!! READ!!! LEARN!!! GODDAMN IT!!!!
I am thinking of putting it up on the site here.
But if you want it emailed, drop me a letter in my box, Scryer.

| Remember Them Posted: 5/14/2008 9:40:02 PM | | Thanks, but I know what happened in WWII. Hicks doesn't speak for me. The Holocaust did happen. Thousands upon thousands of men, women, and children died in it. Many British and American soldiers gave their lives to stop an evil that was close to taking over all of Europe. No one should forget this. No one should try and hide it and as long as someone who lived during that era can speak up about it and pass on the truth to those willing to listen, it won't be forgotten, no matter how twisted and distorted special interest groups try to make it. | |

| Remember Them Posted: 5/15/2008 8:48:47 AM | I think you misunderstood me, Scryer. I was merely trying to raise an awareness from an email I got about a GROWING number of people who THINK WWII is a MYTH. I know it happened. You know it happened. I wasn't offering a lesson, just wanted to say about some crazy people out there who are saying it is a myth. I would like to think that people won't listen to these crazy people, but look at what is happening out there already! Sorry for causing any crossed wires. | |

| Remember Them Posted: 5/15/2008 9:32:44 PM | That's ok, brother. I got your meaning. I was just answering in my own way.
Peace and God bless! | |
|
| Remember Them Posted: 5/16/2008 5:09:42 AM | Phew! Thank God for that!
Same to yourself, Scryer.

| Remember Them Posted: 5/23/2008 9:52:05 PM | Blessings to our sons, daughters, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters, brothers, wives, husbands, grandparents and friends who have served and/or given their lives serving their country. Young and old, here and gone, yet never forgotten, always remembered. | |
