The drink prices are good but I have to think the admission price may turn a few people off.
This is a regular Fri. night for them and thus you have to pay for the DJ they hired. I usually only go to the Marquee when they have live bands there.
It'll be interesting to see the interest in this.

And so what if the higher cover is being used to pay for DJ and stuff? They will be working hard no doubt and expect payment . Buy ur ticket before hand .. only $10.00 .
I think we should give the Marquee a shot. Why the hell not ? This is a trial and error stage , if it is not what POF'ers want then we move on , but we will never know unless we go and see what is out there . I for one will be there with bells on . It is not necessarily the place we go that makes the parties, but the PEOPLE! And I know if u all show up we will have a good time regardless!

Just to avoid any confussion, the marquee is a special events club and we dont ever open our doors without live entertainment, which we have every thurs - sat. It is never routine and we dont have an in house dj. This POF party is having entertainment by artcabaret. See the website to understand what the event will be all about. The feel of the night will be a dance party with music by Juno nominated, DJ Skratch Bastid and other dj's. Bound to be a lot of fun for all!

But I guess one of the big things for me is that the Warehouse and Red Stag were mainly POFers. That won't be the case here. POFers will probably be a small minority here.
Then there is the age factor. I know Karma is biting me in the ass on this one as there have been a few complaints from the younger POFers at the other venues over the age being older and now the tables are turned.
Actually I'm picturing a lot of people with the crotch of their jeans down around their knees.
But hey, I could be wrong. I'm just not going to spend the $10/14 to see if I am.

Posted: 6/3/2008 3:29:01 PM | Skratch Bastid is just as good as Lincon.. if not better. might not be your style of music tho.. He's mostly Hip Hop and Funk.. lots of old school funk. I'm sure he'll be more than prepared. He uses Serato.. which for those of you who don't know, Is a Virtual Dj aid that allows him to play ANY song/mp3, that's in his library.. and this man listens to a LOT of music.... He's been known to Mix Metallica and the Likes with Hip Hop..
The marquee is my home away from home.. well used to be my home away from home. but now.. not so much. it's still an awesome Venue, and a large space.. and less RESTURANT style... maybe they could have the POF party in Hell's Kitchen, and the rest of the stuff upstairs.. that way u can be segregated haha..
and LEAFS... there won't be that many THUGS there.. if any at all.. trust me on that one ;) | |
