Other than that though OP, how do you know what goes on in other peoples' heads ? Better yet, why are you monitoring the people that your friend talks to and why is she not listing her own ethnicity accurately in the first place ? Moreover, it's obvious that the story you're getting is coming from your friend and she's clearly not giving you all of it. | |

Even in this modern age interracial couples are discriminated against in an extremely rude and offensive manner in public.I have interracial couples for friends, and they tell some awful stories of their treatment at restaurants,bars,shopping malls,and out in general. Many people prefer not to be subjected to this type of ignorant attention at the hands of others.
It's not the moral high road, but this is real life. Sorry. | |

When someone is too overweight it is offensive if a person likes someone who is not overweight. When someone is too skinny it is offensive if a person likes someone who is curvy. When someone is too nice it is offensive if a person likes someone with courage and confidence. And now when someone likes a race you are not it is now offensive?
What the hell people!
People really have to stop taking rejection personal. It is a part of life. 1/3 of the people will love you, 1/3 of the people will hate you and 1/3 of the people don't care about you or don't know you. So if you realize that it is possible at least 1/3 of the people you interact with will not like you no matter what you do, why get all bent out of shape and blame them for their preferences? | |

I second that motion. It appears like anything else in life people tend to be attracted to people like themselves and this includes race too. We have to 'bear in mind' too like another poster put it another reason a man who is of a different race or ethnicity won't date a woman from another ethnicity or race is simply because dating a person outside of his race does not fit into his 'comfort zone.' Most people are still 'very concerned' about what their parents and friends and the greater part of society think about their choices in choosing a girlfriend or mate. Whilst some don't give a damn. Some persons families are openminded about their choices in dating outside of their races, whilst others are very closedminded. We have make the choices in life that are best for us. For some this is easier said than done. And like I have mentioned before most people are unwilling to 'step outside of the box' of their comfort zone and are still concerned about what other people may think. Others, however, have no interest or a desire to date anyone outside their race. Moreover, people in general tend to gravitate to people who are similar like themselves and this does not exclude race. | |

i think guys need to come clean about it on there profile. about what types of girls that they are interested in and state the race. because i find it very offensive and a waste of time when they like my friends profile and they find out that she is not white or hispanic I happen to be attracted to appearance as well as intelligence and pride in accomplishments. That means some level of attention to detail. There isn't a lot to go on in terms of knowing people online. So we have to get our hints where we can. And your grammar tells me that you don't care about how you are perceived, and while on one level it is commendable that you don't care what strangers think, on another it shows you probably don't care what a prospective boyfriend thinks.
And there is a difference between not caring what a prospective boyfriend things and not letting it bring you down if he rejects you.
So in summary, a woman can be as beautiful as imaginable, but if she if she is "classed" as an intellectual ultralight weight, she and I won't get along, so I just keep trucking and don't waste my time. | |

Some black girls are bothered by the perception that white women are seen as ideal.
There's an entire fashion culture in Japan centered on "westernizing" one's look: in extreme cases, there's a surgery available for Asian eyes, with their epicanthic folds, to have their lids reshaped to look like white people's eyelids.
Many men of Indian descent feel discriminated against by white women who see them all as cab drivers and convenience store workers.
People of every race feel that somebody else is getting more/better/preferable forms of attention; it's never true across the board. It's rarely even true of a person who has a so-called "set preference," since people's preferences are usually more elastic than they care to admit.
If we all said that we preferred White/Black/Asian/Hispanic/whatever people on our profiles, not only would we be limiting ourselves, we'd be lying. We'd be lying even if we didn't know it because preferences tend to become mutable when we meet someone who's ridiculously attractive and/or charming--no matter what ethnic heritage that person has. | |

I am not sure where you get your statistics from, but if you factor in Asian, Mediterraneans, Europeans, middle eastern, South-Americans, atop of your Latina, and Caucasian, I would say that this makes up an overwhelming majority of the population. I would also venture to guess that most men would not have any problems dating any of the afore mentioned women, I know I wouldn't.
The fact that you pick the race card is completely bogus. You can not deduce from these men saying they are not interested in your "friend" <---- (by the way for sake of argument I will say you are in fact speaking for a friend), that it is because your friend is of a certain race. I think the same things apply for "most men" and that is your friend was heavy, she smoked, she did drugs, or a various amount of other things that turned them off to her, and race had nothing to do with it. Now that said, if they in fact didn't find your friends appearance attractive then how can you possibly say they wont find her sister attractive or cousin?

2. You don't stick around long enough to see that people are blowing your argument to smithereens...your cowardice is preventing you from seeing the world as something other than your delusions dictate. The one who needs to come clean is you.
