you're going to need adobe acrobat or some other .pdf editor... try to find one that can be saved as an html file, that way when you paste it into word it should retain its formating. i don't know *a lot* about pdf's, i generally try to stay away from them, but i know that much lol

Notice that you can't "save" the file to pdf, but actually print it out to disc. If it's "printed", it stands to reason that you can't edit it. You can open it by clicking on it, but you can't change it. If you can create one, dollars to donuts that if you double-click on it, it'll open up with the reader.

There's no way to edit a pdf in word, and the free acrobat reader doesn't allow edits. So to actually edit a pdf you either need to have the full acrobat program, or another adobe software (like illustrator) that will open a pdf and let you edit text, etc. If you don't have a program like that you need to return to whatever the original source file was.

If you started with a word or publisher document and "saved" (printed to disk) a pdf file, you should still have the original word or publisher document to go back to.

PDF is an open standard, as a result there is a wide selection of commercial and non-commercial PDF converters. Google is your friend:

Although if it's a graphical report you're probably better off just converting the individual PDF pages to images.
