> Why the need to tell us your intentions? If I joined a dating site or cancelled my subscription to it, that's my business. I wouldn't need to announce my intentions to all the members. It is a non-event.

Posted: 5/14/2008 5:54:12 PM | Queen ..and all others who don't quite get it for possibly finding Ms. or Mr Right on-line, I found my Ms. Right-for-me here on Pof.
I didn't 'do time' ...as much as you did, but rather I paid attention to the heart behind the words in Forums that I couldn't ignore as coming from one woman capable of loving me besides caring for others. I was sure that she was worth my driving umpteen hours to meet in-person after my original idea to meet her enroute to even more umpteen hours of driving alone ...had her agreeing to be my company for that part of a journey yet to be taken. There's something so very reassuring as a friend in need of a friend who's willing to trust a stranger who's not too strange for their need of new friends to ease the journey we all have to make for life and eventual death.
That she turned out to have the most exquisite of bodies ...despite all that's beset her for what would put less a woman (a girl?) out of commission for what makes the human world go 'round and 'round, I am quite pleased for the company that she's proven to be. My friend and lover has 'hooked me deeply' ...besides, yes, we've still both much yet to learn for this aspect of our relationship together.
Here's to a PC that worked as well as it did till the Internet came along to expand the possibilities for love beyond any prospects living in the vicinity could provide. Wouldn't dismiss the woman whom I truly trust as friend and my lover ISO likewise w/ a man, and I'm so sorry that you might feel as though you wasted your time messing w/ what remains beyond you to appreciate for 'casting your net' to have. Sorry I am for the sorrier you are for not having the patience and still 'w/ it' that my love of life still shares so freely w/ me. | |

Posted: 5/15/2008 6:40:42 AM | Hmm. It's just one of the places to look. Granted, you have to sift through a lot more when it comes to Internet just to ~meet~ a decent normal person (whether he/she will or will not turn out to be your Mr/Ms Right).
Everyone always says - be out there, interact withe people, do activities etc. Which is, in my case, I am very active, being member of various clubs/activities/church etc. I saw my friends meet someone great right off the bat at some club function and form a relationship, however I myself am yet to meet anyone via all those venues that would spark any kind of romantic interest. Sorry to say, seems in my age bracket guys are just not as active and outgoing, I just don't see as many as there are women involved in all those things.
So this leaves me the Internet, and sifting through multitudes...Good or bad, it's reality. | |

Posted: 5/15/2008 7:34:05 AM | Some do need an internet dating site to find dates...POF has allowed me to me a lot of cool people, however; I belong to a climbing group and I have other pursuits where I keep a very social life...
I sure am not in any way putting anyone down that uses an internet dating site specifically to find dates...This is an easy way to access new friends though...I like it...Plus its free...
