| Seeking profile review Posted: 5/14/2008 3:41:46 PM | Hello,
I have been messaging and emailing many women but I don't get any responses. If there is something not correct about what I have written in my profile, I would appreciate hearing some feedback.
Thanks Dali | |

| Seeking profile review Posted: 5/14/2008 3:47:46 PM | Well, Dali, it's clear to me that you have not included enough personal, relevant info about yourself to really qualify for something as serious as "long term," let alone "dating."
In other words, you've filled your "about me" with things about what you LIKE, and what you DO, but nothing much about WHO YOU ARE. And that's what women are looking to connect with.
Try the Profile Writing Tips thread for some great advice on what to include, and NOT include, in a good profile. Here's the link:

Two things I will tell you, though; 1) your headline needs to be catchy and, if not unique, at least different and 2) everyone needs more than just one pic of themselves.

| Seeking profile review Posted: 5/14/2008 3:49:24 PM | Honestly, bud? I've got nothing. It's a great, concise and well-written profile that tells a lot about who you are.
Keep tryin'. Sometimes the fish aren't biting at all.

Wow, this is quite scathing.

Actually, it's not scathing at all! You should see what she did to loco! Drove that man over the edge...Really, OP, it was good advice.

| Seeking profile review Posted: 5/14/2008 4:33:27 PM | That was scathing? Really? Huh. You might need to develop a thicker skin if one honest comment burned you that badly.
Sorry I can't think of any nicer, hearts and flowers, cuddly pink teddy bear way to tell you. I figured you'd like the truth instead of just getting smoke blown up your ass.
But hey, I can do that, too.
MY REVISED REVIEW:
WOW, UR profile is GRATE! I rilly like that you have 1 pic, that is 2 kewl! Would U like to marry me now? I no evrything about U! PLus U R hott.

| Seeking profile review Posted: 5/14/2008 4:41:41 PM | Let me reiterate what Ms Major said.
1) No "looking for" in headline. 2) More pics (5-6 at least). Closeup should be a face shot, smiling. 3) What Ms Major said - no description of your personality 4) A single sentence about your match is not enough, especially for LTR. 5) Your first sentence is incomplete. And, last time I checked, dolphins were generally not happy living in jungle.

Time-wasters, sheesh!

| Seeking profile review Posted: 5/14/2008 5:14:14 PM | I'm brutally honest, fair warning.
I have a bit of a surreal sense of humor and tend to be left-leaning in my politics. << wow... what an attention getter... *snore*
I have been called a free-thinker, anarchist, unconventional, but very loving, diplomatic and caring of others. << why were you called all of that crap. Too artsy without being manly. Use a quote instead.. as long as it's interesting.
I enjoy hanging out with my friends or socializing in small groups, I'm not a big fan of large crowds. << name something you like to do instead of this. What kind of things don't you like to do that involve a large group. What types of things do you do, that aren't completely boring, that involve small groups?
I have several close friends. << lucky you, remove this now please.
Music fuels my spiritual life and I play the bass. << sounds fruity, you play the bass, what do you like to play? Say a type of music that has a little spirituality in it, without sounding fruity.
I tend to relate better to people who occasionally question convention, and like to think for themselves. :) << Say philisophical because it sounds sexeh.
For my career I am entrusted with designing and writing software programs << did you just say entrusted to write programs. A programmer is a nerd. Everyone person wants to be trusted at work. You're adding words here just for the hell of it. Don't be so wordy. Be more interesting.
, and mentoring and teaching others to do the same. << you're a tutor.
I get the same charge that others get from solving puzzles, and I get paid to do it! << decent, but could be much better
Look, you want to gain someone's attention. You want them to smile when reading your stuff. You want them to relate. You want them to close their eyes and see what you said happening in front of them. And don't listen to that guy above who said you wrote a great profile. Even if it actually was great, there's always room for improvement in EVERYTHING.
