| SQL Server error when accessing POF site today Posted: 5/14/2008 5:39:21 PM | When I attempted to sign on to POF around 5:10 PM EST I got the following server error, shown below. I made a number of attempts to get on the site, waiting several minutes between each try, but got the same error. I did not get a sign-on screen. Was the site down for awhile? Was anyone else having the same problem? FYI: My internet connection was fine; I was only having this problem with POF. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Server Error in '/' Application. 1. Add a "Debug=true" directive at the top of the file that generated the error. Example:
or:
2) Add the following section to the configuration file of your application:
Note that this second technique will cause all files within a given application to be compiled in debug mode. The first technique will cause only that particular file to be compiled in debug mode.
Important: Running applications in debug mode does incur a memory/performance overhead. You should make sure that an application has debugging disabled before deploying into production scenario.

| SQL Server error when accessing POF site today Posted: 5/14/2008 6:13:47 PM | | Saw a post from admin earlier that he was tinkering with the site. Maybe that was during that time. Everything seems to be working fine now. I had the same thing happen also, and rec'd the same error messages. | |

Saw a post from admin earlier that he was tinkering with the site. Is there a specific forum for POF site issues and announcements, other than this one? I searched through the site before starting this thread and could not find any mention of the problem. Where did you find it?
Btw, a few minutes ago I noticed that all the timestamps were 3 hours behind. Gremlins! I just checked and now the timestamps appear to be fixed.
Btw2, with all the people accessing this site, I have to applaud the owner for doing an amazing job maintaining this site. That is the first time ever that I have had any technical difficulties since I joined this site.

| SQL Server error when accessing POF site today Posted: 5/14/2008 8:07:31 PM | This forum is it for any announcements, and typically they will only be in response to problems when encountered by users - case in point , you may have been first out of the gate with reporting this, so any news relating to this, fixes or otherwise should appear in this thread, unless there is another one out there,

| SQL Server error when accessing POF site today Posted: 5/15/2008 3:40:15 PM | I am assuming the database purge is also affecting the "Viewed Me"? I've noticed mine has not been updating for the past day.
I'm not a DBA, but I know a database purge can take hours, especially if following up with a reorg and indexing. Databases are like cars. If you don't maintain them, they become inoperable. I'm guessing folks are fine with the site quirks as long as they know it's a result of site maintenance and only temporary.
Are there any updates from the admin or the moderators??? Any particular parts of the site that are or will be affected?

none that I'm aware of - however all parts functioning on my end as of Saturday May 17 - depending on how things are ordered and stored or being moved about, certain geographical areas may suffer outages over others at any given time.
As I said, so far, all ok on my front (no special powers, and a overheating laptop)

| SQL Server error when accessing POF site today Posted: 5/17/2008 11:10:01 AM | Nothing that I know of is wrong and no complaints etc. Usually its something to do with local ISP's or security settings of some kind.
Try firefox and internet explorer.
