If your gut instinct was that you were better off without him, then in all likelihood, you did the right thing. I think its ok to feel lonely at times. Everyone does. Do your best to try and not let it overwhelm you though. Remain positive. Tell yourself that you will find someone else. If you continue to remind yourself that, eventually, you will subconsciously begin working towards getting what you want.
