Posted: 5/15/2008 4:16:35 AM | | Hey girls, Ive always suspected that I being the tall guy that I am come off as intimidating to a lot of women. In fact I'm often the brunt of my friends jokes who say I make them look like little children. However I would like some opinions on this, do you girls get at all intimidated by guys my size? I'm not saying that I act like a prick or anything in fact I'm genuinely good natured...anyhow back to the question. | |

Personally, I love your height.... but then I'm tall as well. A woman who is 5'5" as an example may prefer to be with someone shorter than you.

Posted: 5/15/2008 4:43:55 AM | Nope, height doesn't intimidate me. I grew up with two brothers who were 6' or over. My father's best friend is taller than that...he scared me when I was a kid, but doesn't bother me now.
Besides if you are taller....being as short as I am, it gives me a better shot at key "points" when you are being a jerk | |

No, as you could see in a gazillion threads if ya looked, there are women out there who are DYING to get together with a tall man. Women who are six feet tall in heels are getting a little bit tired of being taller than their dates.
I'm 5'2" and some change, and I've dated guys from 5'6" to 6'5". It doesn't make me any difference. | |

Posted: 5/15/2008 8:56:51 AM | I've never seen women get intimidated by tall men - shorter men seem to (even half joking), but if anything, women seem to gravitate toward them.
Perhaps if the man is tall AND handsome, she may be at a loss for words and think he'd never be interested in her...but outside of that, I don't see a problem. | |

Posted: 5/15/2008 10:44:31 AM | Hang out with volleyball players, tall is refreshing. I've been around tall men my whole life (rugby and volleyball players), so it's not intimidating.
It's uncomfy to be around the very tall, though--I (at 5'10") always have to crook my neck to look up. Stand back further so I dnt' have to do that. | |

"Not interested" is completely different from "intimidated" which is why if you read the heading I didn't say, "why aren't girls interested in tall guys" I did do a forum search and no one addressed this question so yeah...

Hey OP....you will be fine.....I think a lot of ladies will not find it a problem.....I guess it just depends on how they find your personality....if they are attracted to that....lights are green.

Posted: 5/15/2008 2:35:06 PM | If a guy who was 6'3 started this thread, I'd probably just say something b-tchy, but you're 6'9! Depending on your moods, you could, at least, become intimidating very quickly.
If I met a guy of your height, I wouldn't be "intimidated," but I would probably be a bit awed by it. Maybe that's what you're picking up on? The tallest guy I ever met was about 6'7, and I spent most of that night trying to make him stand next to me or hug me, because at about 5'10 I get very few opportunities to feel delicate or lay my head on a guy's chest. So, I don't know...either I'm way too friendly or that guy knew how to work his height in his favour. | |

Posted: 5/15/2008 3:06:14 PM | I can see at your height (that's exceptionally tall) why it could seem that way, but truth is it's more a factor of the height making you seem unattractive to them. You're easily a foot taller than me, and I'm a fairly tall girl, and though it's a must for my guy to be taller than I after a certain point it just feels awkward.
Lucky for you, there're loads of girls around 6 feet-ish who'd love the opportunity to wear heels and not look like a giant, lol. | |
