| Need help with collector/stalker
Posted: 5/15/2008 10:51:42 PM | | Im sitting here not knowing what to do about this situation so I guess I will ask here and hopefully someone will offer advice. There is a man that works for a loan company that I have a loan with. The payments have been made and 2 of the checks (1 was a money order) have not cleared and the money is in the account. I put the payments in the drop box myself and the girl that works there called the next day and said thanks we received it so I know they got it. This man calls my work and personal phone numerous times every day. Sits in the parking lot at my work and now he has shown up at my house. He was seen walking around my property today and even left a note on my door. I live alone in a very secluded area and I just don’t feel safe knowing that someone I have plainly told not to come to my house has been here. I have no trespassing signs and beware of dog signs in clear view and he has ignored them. I was not home when he was here. I have spoke to his supervisor and nothing has been done but he has got worse. I’m starting to feel like this is a personal thing for whatever reason and it’s not a good feeling. I have called the police and all they said was I need to go to the magistrate. I will do that tomorrow but until then if anyone here has been in a situation like this and can offer a little advice on what can be done. I don’t think I will be getting any sleep tonight so I may as well read. | |

First shot is just a sting then the second is the real thing lol. Ive seen the guy sitting in the parking lot and the first time he knew I saw him he yelled out something that was very uncalled for. I park in the back of the building so he didnt see me leave at first but he finaly figured that out and parks on the side of the building. He doesnt know the area to well so he has been easy to loose. I have always felt very safe at my home but after today I don't at this moment. | |

And i have had a stalker, its scary business, I told the cops, and since i live in a small town, thats alot of excitement for my police department, and they got on it right away. He was told if he did not stop contacting me he would go to jail, and we would press harassment charges. Just dont notice him, he is doing for a kick. These people love when your afraid and vulnerable. Just make sure your doors are locked and like the other one said, when he is on ur property, at work or home, then call the cops, its harassment, and if ur local police department wont do anything, then call the state police, they will!! | |

As far as the calls at work and home, you have to write the company a letter (send registered) stating that they may only communicate with you through writing. I know for sure that they have to stop calling you at work at that point, but I'm not 100% sure about home. | |

Some places consider this harrassment....so lay the charges and start proceedures to sue not only him, but the company he is working for. I guarantee it will end immediately.
took the words right off my fingertips. 
call his supervisor back and give him a warning that you have already contacted the police, even if you haven't. if he comes by ONCE after the warning, follow through and file harrassment papers right away!!!
i've had to threaten telemarketers after asking how they got my number, and after they've called over and over and over and over..... | |

Posted: 5/16/2008 8:43:35 AM | | Get pictures of the sonofa**** stalkking your home, work, witnesses, documentation and sue the company for harrassment, but buy a gun first in case he has alittle mental problem if he busts in your house you can take care of that problem by blasting the fu*ker...It seems to me he's got some sort of mental problem if this is how he works...Collection agencies are not suppose to operate like this..This is totally old school collection tactics it's not legal where I live..I bet he wouldn't stalk me what a wuss going after a woman...I would also get more information from the cops about your rights protecting your proptery with a firearm... | |

Posted: 5/16/2008 12:34:34 PM | I called his supervisor first thing this morning and told him everything that happened. I filed a police report and was told that they will contact the company with a verbal warning and if any employee of this company comes within 500 feet of me the person will be arrested and if they come onto my property (my house) they will be arrested. I told the supervisor that if ever a next time I would let the dogs out and that would be better than me on them. Last night I was worried but today I’m pissed lol. I have 2 payments left and not even behind so I don’t know what the guys problem is but it is against the law with what he has done. I don’t think I will be seeing him around my house or work again but just in case I went shopping today and bought 2 security cameras that record 24/7 so if there is a next time I will have the proof. Oh, and I filed a report with BBB. They were in shock and will be contacting the owner.

Posted: 5/17/2008 2:58:27 AM | 1. If you are in the states, file a complaint with the FTC. Go to their website for more info on what bill collectors are allowed to do.
2. File a complaint with your State Attorny General.
3. In MOST states, you must have no trespassing and BOD signs placed EVERY 50 ft around the entire perimeter of your property. So...get those signs up!
4. Whenever you see him, call the cops. Even if he is not on your property.
5. Keep a DETAILED log of his actions. And send copies of that to someone you trust just incase (heaven forbid) something happened to you.
6. Invest in a Colt Anaconda and box of .44 Magnums. And learn how to use the gun properly. Trust me....it's a handheld bazooka and it will stop the biggest person dead in their tracks. Aim for the head of below the waist...Just to make sure you take him down in the event he is a real nut job and wants to wear a Kevlar Vest.
