Went out and bought a 500gig HD and lobbed it in my tower. Works fine, except I get the warning that I'm running out of HD space. I check Properties and it shows it's using 50gigs and that's it.
Yet I head into BIOS and check it, and it says it's 500gigs.
Anyone have any idea how to get back the other 450gigs I seem to be missing, without losing the data of the 50gigs currently on there?
Chances are you need to reformat it to NTFS - if that doesn't work check your jumper settings, some times they can minimize the drive size.
If you're not wanting to lose that data, get a copy of partition magic or something like that. This will leave the primary partition alone (ie. c drive) and allow you to create 1/2/3 other partitions.
