I agree, but there are limits and automatic filters that look for anything that could be spam. We do have a good deal of freedom though. Check out my profile and forum history for a few examples.
You can use non-standard characters in your profile, just don't use big long strings of them.
Also, you can put a video with voice of yourself on your profile. How freakin' sweet is that! | |

Some emoticons need to have the name instead of the number.

Get the names from the send mail page. You can also get emoticon names in the forum post reply page.
Also, keep a copy of your About Me and First Date text in a document on your PC for editing because editing your profile with certain emoticons is a pain as they get lost when you edit and update. So, copy and paste from the PC document to the POF edit page and you'll have no worries.
Video of myself with voice?
Yes, upload your video to Imeem. I have not messed with Imeem so I don't know the ropes. Others have home videos in profiles, so it does indeed work. You should also be able to have a voice-only message play. | |

If you read the Link again, you'll notice your Entries must be ASKII Text. Your Profile is deleted by the Site Filter, not by any Person. If it contains non-standard Characterization, a Profile may be vapourized.
If you want to use ASCII art in your profile, try to use standard characters.
Not a Matter of trying, you can't use anything else.

Irrelevant. Your Pics have to be in compliance with upload Requirements.
