| are u looking forward to the new indiana jones movie coming out this month? Posted: 5/17/2008 12:04:12 AM | | to me there is a few movie trilogies that i consider some of the best movie series of all time and some of the best movie characters too.harrison ford as indiana jones is one of them.the last 3 movies are classics.they are the kind of movies im sure many of us ive seen more than just one time.i know that ford is pretty old is probably in his 60's today but i dont care.i love sequels and i dont mind seeing an old classic hero making a comeback even if he now looks older in the new movies.the last die hard or the last rambo where both good sequels i found so im pretty sure the new indy will be just as great.especially considering that its the same team of spielberg and lucas bringing us the new movie.so are u excited to see ford back as indy this month?if yes why exactly are u excited about it? | |

I remember seeing the first one as a kid, the line was all the way around the theater!
Usless Trivia: Harrison Ford is now older than Sean Connery was, when Sean Connery played his father in The Last Crusade.

It just doesn't even compare AT ALL. The story line is totally out of this world [literally] and not nearly as good as the rest. Plus is take places in the 50's, which definitley changes a lot [compared to the others being in like the 30s].

Posted: 5/27/2008 11:02:19 AM | Badly written, bad plot, bad over-acting (Cate Blanchett's accent was worse than Tim Curry's in "Congo"), and not enough for Marion (Karen Allen) to do other than toss out a few quips and drive a truck.
To tell you the truth, the only one I really liked was the first one. The sequels sucked.

I really liked Temple of Doom and The Last Crusade. But I haven't watched Raiders of the Lost Ark in a while, but that unfortunatley was my least favorite of the three even though it's the first :p

| are u looking forward to the new indiana jones movie coming out this month? Posted: 5/28/2008 3:16:54 PM | I try & not c the previews or read about any movie I might want 2 c so that I go in2 it with an open mind with no preconceived notions - I also usually try & have low expectations - I have found that doing those things has helped me enjoy ANY movie more, although there r some movies that still wind up sucking (Ice Age 2 & Shrek 3.. I am talking 2 u!!) - So I had no real expectations concering this new Henry Jones Jr movie, just hoping it was better than Temple of Doom but highly doubting it would b better than either 1 or 3
I ended up liking it.. about a 7 out of 10 - It certainly was much better than Temple of Doom but no where near as good as 1 or 3 - As 4 the movies I have seen recently, I liked Speed Racer (which surprised me!!) & Prince Caspian better. But it was a decent enough movie and a good ending to the saga - I am sure Siskel would have given it a thumbs up
The Will Smith movie & WALL•E look like they have excellent potential 2 b good movies later this summer 2 c

Posted: 5/28/2008 4:58:31 PM | Although I am sure that I will see it in the theaters, since I have seen all of the rest in theaters or drive-ins, I am skeptical. While the first movie was great, the second one sucked donkey butt. Luckily the third on was better. But it was still no "Raiders Of The Lost Arch".
I have a feeling this one may be no par with "The Last Crusade", as nothing could be as bad as "The Temple Of Doom" and I seriously doubt it will be another "Raiders...".

| are u looking forward to the new indiana jones movie coming out this month? Posted: 5/29/2008 9:03:48 AM | Seen it three times so far (what can I say? I have nothing better to do.)
1st time--saw it with Mom--she loved it, I HATED it. 2nd time--saw it with a friend--didn't hate it as much, a little bored, we both thought it was cheesy 3rd time--saw with another friend--he hated it, I laughed my way through it because the lines were so bad. Definitely something I'm adding to my list of "awesomely bad" movies.
In conclusion....if you don't mind over-the-top accents, cheesy dialogue, a plot with more holes in it than a sheet of Swiss cheese, but a great cast and a hint of nostalgia, then by all means, go see it. But it's not nearly on par with any of the other ones. Heck, I'd take Temple of Doom over this any day.

| are u looking forward to the new indiana jones movie coming out this month? Posted: 5/31/2008 6:24:02 AM | My friend dragged me kicking and screaming to see it last night. What a waste of money that was. Luckily he paid. I was nodding off during the first 20 minutes of the movie. The only good part was when the Russkie dude got chewed up by the ants. Now that was cool. My friend ... well, being squeamish ... shut his eyes. Cate Blanchett did a decent job as the nasty Russian momma while Karen Allen looked rather ancient since her days in Starman.
And the point of this Indy movie was???
