| Movie Reviews Posted: 5/17/2008 9:00:24 AM | Hi everyone. I thought it would be good to have this in the B.C. forums. I would like to hear your thoughts on the movies you have seen. The new movies that you just seen or the old standbys that you thought were so good you had to buy them. What movies made you laugh so hard that you fell off your seat? What scared the hell out of you? Did one bring a tear to your eye? My all time favorite has to be The Shawshank Redemption. Defiantly a keeper! | |

| Movie Reviews Posted: 5/17/2008 9:28:34 AM | I'm not sure I'd buy any movies I like, once seen i usually don't watch it again. I will say though that I do choose flicks based on the cast....
Dustin Hoffman Al Pacino Tim robbins Morgan Freeman Denzel Washington Robin Williams
Just to list a few actors that rarely ever turn in a bad performance, usually a good bet.

| Movie Reviews Posted: 5/18/2008 9:01:48 AM | Just rented Untraceable last night and it was great. In the name of the King wasn't very good. And corny fight scenes - felt like I was watching power rangers. I saw Speed Racer last week with the kids. Great show. Long though - 2.5 hours or so. | |

| Movie Reviews Posted: 5/18/2008 4:46:36 PM | I saw "War" with Jet Li last summer & I totally fell in love with it, I even bought it! I was very surprised, because I don't even like those testosterone flicks, usually!
Enjoyed the new Babylon 5 movie last summer, too.
Shall we dance, with Richard Gere & Jennifer Lopez, was really awesome, as well.

| Movie Reviews Posted: 5/24/2008 1:07:17 PM | Yeah I am going to see Indiana Jones when the lines go down. I only saw a couple of movies so far this year. They were: Mad Money was ok and Baby Mama was cute. My all time favourite movies were: All the "Star Trek" movies and "Star Wars" movies. Dirty Dancing, Breakfast Club, Some Kind of Wonderful, and Working Girl I know some of these are chick flicks but I don't care. May go see See Sex and the city as well. Since I also like fantasy movies, the second sequel to the Narnia chronicles. | |
|

My all time favorite has to be The Shawshank Redemption. As is one of mine....
Other favorites include "A Time to Kill", "The Green Mile", "Braveheart", "Groundhog Day", "Lord of the Rings", "Murder in the First", "Michael", "Mystic River", "Primal Fear", "The English Patient", "Saw" (all of them), and one of the only 'chick flics' I really enjoy...."Under the Tuscan Sun".
As for children's movies, my faves include "The Santa Claus", "Mousehunt", "Nemo", and "Hercules".
What movies made you laugh so hard that you fell off your seat? What scared the hell out of you? Did one bring a tear to your eye? The last movies I saw that has: Made me laugh so hard...."Meet the Parents". Scared the hell out of me...."The Grudge". I dislike scary movies but took my teens to see this. Brought a tear to my eye....ANY movie where someone else is crying or in emotional pain or if it involves loss of a loved one or loss of a child...

| Movie Reviews Posted: 5/25/2008 9:30:05 AM | New Movies I've seen:
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian I read all the books as a kid and read them with my daughter as well, so had to go see this. Actually, I thought this sequel was better than the first one. Unusal that. I quite enjoyed it.
Made of Honor Goofy & predictable, but kinda cute. However, I won't be buying it when it come out.

But I have to say that the one I liked the best would be The Incredibles. Haven't seen it BCG101....but my youngest got it for Christmas so I'll have to dig it out and watch it.
I have also enjoy 'different' movies such as "The Butterfly Effect" and "Vanilla Sky". "The Birdcage" with Robin Williams was just too much for me to wrap my head around. Didn't like it at all.
The last movie I went to see was "There Will be Blood". The end really got me. Same as "Mystic River".

IRONMAN
Corny, but I still really enjoyed it... definately will be one of those better on the big screen.
I guess Dark Knight will be next on our list..
Marvel vs DC .... which will be better?
|
| Movie Reviews Posted: 6/4/2008 2:07:22 PM | "The Children of Huang Shi" looks like will be a decent flick. As for DC versus Marvel, Marvel wins hands down. Come on..."Batman & Robin"....the first two Micheal Keaton Batman flicks were good. And Superman Returns was kinda...meh.. | |
|
| Movie Reviews Posted: 6/4/2008 7:45:25 PM | | a little known movie from 2003 caled Luther ... a semi biographical movie about Martin Luther ... the monk from 16th century germany not the 60s activist! Incidently it was also Sir Peter Ustinov's last film ( he had a supporting role in it). The film work is outstanding .. the scenery and location shooting specatular ( mainly filmed in Germany) the costumes surprisingly accurate for the time frame. While the film takes a little licence in not being 100% accurate about this monk and revolutionary's life it is well acted .. well dirrected and worth a rent! | |

| Movie Reviews Posted: 6/4/2008 9:10:38 PM | The last movie I watched was No Country For Old Men. I have to assume it only won Best Picture because the other nominated pictures starred Tom Cruise. They didn't, but it seems the only logical explanation.
I own a lot of DVD's ranging from classic to horror to romanticcomedyyoushouldntbewatchingthisitsachickflickstopitstopitstopit. Coincidentally, none of them star Tom Cruise either.
Favorite film: Bonnie and Clyde, 1967 (aka - Warren Beatty wears a wifebeater)
