I understand that the pre-meet was also a hit, and special thanks to Wilki for holding the fort for a while there.
Nice to see lots of new faces again aswell as some old, its good to catch up!
My feet are killing me today, why do we wear heels when we are gonna be on the dancefloor all night!!
Thank god the next Cork's meet is the Toga Party, so sandals are a definate - roll on the 21st June when we party again   | |

I apologise for offending your eyes people, but hope it made you laugh if nothing else.
I remember in the 80's my mother used to look at me before I went out and say "what the hell do you look like" I found myself saying that in the mirror before leaving last night.
I made a sign up and pinned it to myself, it said I am going to an 80's night just in case anybody thought I actually dressed like that, I mean leggings with my thighs come on 
Now where did I put those headache pills | |

In the end i gave up, with loud music its impossible to converse in a convo, i lost out on a lady who i fancied cos of loud music.. | |

Posted: 5/18/2008 9:47:07 AM | I agree with Hamby, it is an event that is predominantly for dancing and having a good time. I had no problem chatting to people on the whole and as she said, chatted to people outside when getting much needed fresh air.
I had a fabulous evening, I was a tourist attraction on the tube on my way in! The pre-meet was great, met some lovely ladies there and one gentleman! He was loving being surrounded by gorgeous women though.
I have a new best friend forever, what a giggle we had. Those who made the effort with costumes did so with gusto and looked brilliant. The music was brilliant, I didn't sit down all night, apologies to anyone who's way I got in on the dance floor
It was a brilliant night and chatted to lots of people I haven't met before which is what it's all about.
Oh and ladies, the gents toilets get lollipops! As I discovered when I accidentally knocked one out of someones mouth and went to find a replacement. Their toilets do stink to high heaven though so not really recommended you venture in there. | |

But to agree with the girls Chris, you could have gone for a chat round by the pool tables, i had a few conversations round there and it was fine, the Dancefloor is for dancing or snogging in some cases 
our DJ's are the BEST and are what keep these people coming back time after time - again i will state FOR FREE!

3 shampoos and 2 conditioners later i felt half human again.
Once again a massive thank you to all those who made last night possible......Misty your always a star, ladylou great to see you again and a hero for finding my bag!
elijah and jack for playing some brill tunes and keeping us mad folk freaking out on the dance floor yet again.

And last but not ever least thank you to max my partner in crime and dancing, oh how we laughed....... glad you kept my scotch warm for me xxx lol and to my brother garrygeorge who as always was dancing his butt off and who was our knight in shining armour for food and making sure we got that phone call made thank you xxx
We did have to wait outside the venue for 2 and half hours to get our lift home and was generally freezing our bits off but other than that we had a fantastic time.
Sadly wont be able to make the toga do as im in for my op but at least itll save my sheets !

The reason I play what I play is simple, Im an ex club dj and thats the style and music I used to play and still do now and again. If I played the same style as Elijah I'd be bored senseless within 5 minutes of playing, he does his thing brilliantly and I do mine.
I guess you cant please everyone as I well know from getting moaned at on the night yet again, strange thing is its always the women moaning when you cant play something they ask for. TRY REQUESTING IT BEFORE THE NIGHT BY MAILING THE DJ'S. It really is that simple. It really annoys me when people start moaning, we give up our time, we buy cd's, we try and make sure everyone has a fun night and that you all go away with a smile on your faces yet here we are again with people moaning..'ooh it was to loud'...'ooh that tune was from 1990 not the 80's'....Tell you what then, you f'ing well get up and do it then if you think you can do better.
That may well be the last I do now anyway as my summer gets busy with my bike racing and my weekends are taken up training and racing.
All in all I had a great night although the free beer supply ran very dry very quickly.

I had a great time and once again met loads of lovely folk!!
The pre-meet was brilliant...to all who attended..thank you so much for ..well..just all getting along so well..I was in and out of the pub and ticking my 'register' off as people arrived..I like to make sure folk are looked after and you guys made it so easy for me to be pretty 'unsociable' to begin with whilst I was making sure everyone got there ok.
Dancer..I will never forget that vision of you coming through the crowd in Oxford St!!
Trinity..well..one lovely lady..I don't need to ask if you had a good time...so pleased you came along..!!
Devilsdelight....what a total sweetheart you are!! Myself and Wilki have had serious debate and we have a complaint to make....you profile photos do not do you justice..you are one truly beautiful lady!
To all the other pre-meeters...what a fab crowd!! Too many of you to mention...Revlac..I cannot believe what your brother does for a living!!
(unless that was another wind up..along the lines of..'oh no..we just met him on the tube..we don't know him but dragged him along and he's staying at our place tonight..'

When I got there I completely forgot to look out for Max and Compact...went for a wander and saw these two amazingly dressed ladies dancing...(boy you two are both good little dancers!!) ..and yeah..it was you two!! Lovely to meet you!
Max..I did try to text you back but 1. I couldn't actually spell at that point and 2. me and Wilki were having our own mini Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmare whilst trying to make breakfast...if Gordon had been there the air would have turned bright blue!!
Sandfairy..I have not screamed that loudly in years...if I had had a glass in my hand when you 'got me' at the bar it would have dented the ceiling!! Lovely to meet you at last..!
Thanks to the hosts for another brilliant night..thanks also to Elijah and Jack for some fab tunes!! Dancing round handbags was 'in' last night!!
Misty...I hope you get a few tunes out of the guitar..if not then it's really handy as a 'man bat'!
Hmmmm..it's looking like I might have to get my bum along to the Toga party......will think about that once I have fully recovered!!
ETA: Re the music..a mixture is a good thing..I had a good old boogie to 'both dj choices..there's some 80's stuff I don't like and can't bear..as there is some club stuff I don't do either..but I'm a punk girl at heart anyhow!!
About the loudness..it's a club..it's about dancing..and about hollering in someone's ear and going off to find somewhere quieter..we were sat rught by the DJ area..we did some sign language and chatted outside..no problem at all! To me a club without the music up high would be a disappointment...party on!! | |
