| | Creating a definition criteria for Body Types Female & Male [Closed Thread]Page 1 of 1 | First, as has been discussed elsewhere, I think that Big & Tall needs to be separated from the Big & Tall/BBW Body Type. This is a term describing males, but is confusing, because it can seem to appear to relate to women. As this exact thing is written about in a different thread, something describing larger men should be used, I prefer the term Bear Like, and I think it should exist for men replacing Big & Tall. For both men and women, Tall is obvious, as we post our actual height. Also, as requested in a different thread, an additional option of "Between A Few Extra Pounds & BBW or Bear Like" would be good.
Thus we would have:
Prefer Not To Say Thin Athletic Average A Few Extra Pounds Between A Few Extra Pounds & BBW BBW Bear Like
Then, and this is in no way meant to be discriminatory, or inflammatory, I propose that in order to achieve clarity, and eliminate misunderstands that seem to hurt a lot of peoples feelings, create false hopes, and impressions, PoF in the instructions when you initially create your profile, you should be given a set of definitions for Body Type. As we all know what hair and eye color mean, and how tall we are, as well as what sex, religion, and ethnicity are, and what we are in those just mentioned categories, Body Types are not so simple, with lines blurring between cultures and geographical locales, and because they are totally open to "what you think it means", this leads to lots of issues when you finally meet someone, and trust me, we all know what I mean when I say feeling get hurt over this. In order to eliminate this, and create more realistic expectations, I propose that PoF use the following definitions for Body Type. These are open to modification, they are just my thoughts, and as long as we set permanent, clear parameters to be used, could be anyone's thoughts:
Thin: No body fat, to negligible body fat, has the body of a professional model (Male or Female)
Athletic: Just that, body is toned, no flab, and this is clearly different then Thin, Athletic is Athletic
Average: Not Thin, exactly Average is what it means, you are the right weight for your height, and are not A Few Extra Pounds, but you are not Athletic because you are not toned.
A Few Extra Pounds: Just this, you would need to lose 15 pounds or less to be in the Average Body Type
Between A Few Extra Pounds & BBW or Bear Like: Would need to lose 16 pounds or more, but not a BBW or Bear Like
BBW: Just that, a Big Beautiful Woman
Bear Like Just this, the male equivalent of a BBW
My intent is not to offend, or make value judgments in any way, it is just to create a uniform matrix for us to choose what we really look like.
