Copy Pasting From Word to POF emailPage 1 of 1
Is it true if I type an email in Word (sometimes easier that way..especially at work LOL) and paste into a POF email, does it actually get blocked and never makes it to intended recipient?

I've never heard of that and don't see how the two could be related.

Regardless, all you have to do to see if your email has been sent is go to your Sent Message box and verify that your email shows in there - if it's there, it's been sent and is now in the inbox of the intended recipient:)

Is it true if I type an email in Word ... and paste into a POF email, does it actually get blocked and never makes it to intended recipient?

It can ... depending what Version of Word, Word Processor or other Text Editor you have installed, and whether the Document is run off Scripts and Macros. Further, should MS Office's Normal.dot Template be customized or corrupt,
you may also be copying over unrecognized, non-standard Formatting, Document Markup Languages or Control Characters, esp. when in the "Online/Web Layout View".

What this translates into is ... should you also try to copy over as part of the Text Pictures/Graphics, WordArt, Tables and Borders, Drawing, Forms or Visual Basic Content, your Message may be halted by the Site's Messaging Content Filters.

Some Users have reported they could copy from 1 Word Document, but not from another often infected with a Macro Virus'.

To be sure, copy the Text Content from your Word Document and paste into Notepad. Then copy the Text Content from Notepad into your Message. In this Fashion you can filter out what your E-Mail or Forum Message might restrict.

E-Mail: Contact Restrictions
  • You have not only composed and copied the Body of your ASCII (Plain Text) Message from your Text Editor into your E-Mail Message, but also your Text Editor's unrecognized, non-standard Formatting, Document Markup Languages or Control Characters. Use another Editor or don't use/turn off its formatting Functions.

Nevertheless, avoid the use of the < Select All > Feature when copying Text from 'MS-Word' or any other Word Processor, but manually select the Text and 'Copy & Paste' it via 'Notepad' or directly into your E-Mail/Forum Messages.

But more often than not, its not the Word Document itself, but often Text Content that is restricted even if its typed in. In the Messaging Content Example below ...

    Private Messaging
    To:
    Subject:
... but then that Bitch from Nigeria at www.myspace.com calling from 678-4889 went downstairs ... < can you believe that? >
@ 10PM and threw the broken Wire ...
Attach a "Be Mine Rose" (You can send 2 roses every 30 days)

... your Message will likely be censored and/or blocked from being sent.

Sometimes no Error Message Feedback is returned after you have fired off an E-Mail. Check your Sent Msg/Outbox Folder and if a Copy is there, then its assumed it went through.

Does this site have a Spell Checker? Great site , it would be even better with one in place.

If you use Mozilla Firefox as your browser, it does have spell check.
It's what I use here & it checks all my messages & posts as I type.

because I am sure the many filters in place that police content of emails are not meant to scan other languages.

Yeah I'm wondering about this too. I would write a reply in word just to make sure I don't accidentally send my messages with a mistake in them. Then I would have to retype the message a second time in Plenty of Fish to send it. I was just wondering also if I can type it in Word and then copy that and paste it into the text box on Plenty of Fish. I mean, would that trip the filter that checks for copy and paste messages? Does the filter check if you right click and select paste in the Plenty of Fish text box? It just gets tiring writing the same message twice in a row especially if it's a long one.

POF only checks to make sure you're not copy and pasting THE SAME message over and over to different people. There is no way for us to tell if you made the message in Word or something and copy and pasted it into a message here. You say "it gets tiring to write the SAME MESSAGE twice in a row especially if it's a long one". THAT is what POF will block. Your really not getting this whole online dating thing yet are ya? Maybe learn to use the search function on here? Write 3 or 4 sentences in a first message and make one a question for her to answer. Include something to indicate you actually even READ her profile. You don't need long "tiring" first contact messages here especially since you seem to be sending the same message to everyone anyway. (rolls eyes...) Dude your wasting your time and those of the women you are pasting the same long tired message to over and over here.
