Question about pictures in messagesPage 1 of 1
Hey,

When I send a message I notice below my message is my pictures with checkable boxes ontop of them. Am I supposed to check those boxes or will people automatically see my main profile picture?

Thanks,

That's there if you want to add more pictures to the message. Or for those who have no profile picture to attach a picture to someone who refuses to accept messages to members with no profile picture.Your main profile picture will show up with your message even if you don't bother to check off any of those other boxes regarding pictures.

If you have a main image that is visible to the public, a small thumbnail view of it will always be part of any message you send. If you send a message to someone who has chosen to only accept messages from people who have photos, your photos will automatically be attached to any message you send to them. If they have not, you have the option to select a photo (or more than one) to attach. This is a nice option if you have appropriate photos that you keep private, but would like to share with someone. These will be seen at their normal size. I would caution that you use restraint in adding these.

It seems to me when I am in that situation if I don't check off one of the boxes it sends all of my pictures with the message. Is there a way of not sending any pictures attached to the message when that option comes up.

Okay good, I was worried that I was sending messages without any pictures at all.

Thanks!

Paddy,

It seems to me when I am in that situation if I don't check off one of the boxes it sends all of my pictures with the message.

All of your photos sent to anyone that requires a person have a public photo to message them. If they have that requirement, you cannot do anything about that other than not having public photos/not messaging them. If you have not checked "show on profile" under the "Image" link, the photo will not be sent.

Is there a way of not sending any pictures attached to the message when that option comes up.

I am not sure I understand your question correctly. However, if you see your photos at the bottom of the message you are sending and don't want to attach them, simply do not check them off. Only your main photo will be sent.

^^^ that's the problem when I did not check off any boxes all of the public photo's were sent. So now I just send pic one to send but I would like to be able to send none attached to that initial message sometimes. I guess all I can do is make all my pictures not public before I send the message to get around that glitch.

Paddy, I don't think there's any glitch. I've done visible and hidden pics before so I have a little inside information.

If you have public or private pictures and you send an initial message to someone who has "Must have photo to contact user" on their profile, then all of your pictures will be attached; you just have to unclick the ones that you don't want sent.

If you have public or private pictures and you send an initial message to someone who could care less about pictures, then none of your pictures are sent.

If you respond to messages via the "Quick Message" function, you cannot attach or detach pictures, the picture function is not available.

If you respond to messages via the "Reply" button, you will have the option of sending pictures or not.

I hope this helps. And I think I got it right.
