Forum Posting Guidelines **Read this BEFORE posting**
From the above thread:
- "Game Threads": - are allowed, within reason, these are for the exclusive use of the users local to the forum, this is not new, this is existing policy, and it is site-wide.
- "Relaxed Conversation Threads": - are allowed, within reason, these are for the exclusive use of the users local to the forum, this is not new, this is existing policy, and it is site-wide.
The POF forums are not a chat room, nor will we tolerate those who will frequent other locals in order to use this site's local forums as a de facto chat room.
Stick to your own region's word games and "relaxed" discussion threads or these forums will not be allowed this leeway
Complaints from local forum users have made it a necessity to clamp down on "road trippers" in the "Word Games" and "Relaxed Discussion" (non Event oriented) threads.
Example
As you would be well aware, over the last couple of weeks or so a large number of Canadians have virtually taken over the aussie threads. This has caused a great deal of concern with some people and many of us aussies have backed off in posting. I could see what was happening and I wasn't going to allow the aussie forums to fade to other posters.
Local forums primary purpose is to plan and post Singles Events, some general topic threads are allowed, but for non-locals similar topics are also found on the global forums., arranged by topic.
Non locals can and often do disrupt local forums, bumping threads that may not reflect local interest to the same degree had they not posted. Exceptions are made for those attending local events, as long as they stay on-topic within the event thread.
Travellers to other locals? = Travel Forum.
