| PICS: Images not showing up issues here...[Read the OP]
Posted: 11/29/2006 2:02:39 PM | I just switched providers and in the next 5 minutes to 6 hours images will be served from other locations let me know if there are problems ... ie. no images showing up period on the site.
Anyone who has Problems do the following: |
| 1. | Go up your < Start Menu > ... |

I need the line that says DNS Server.
It gives a set of 4 numbers in this format: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (example 206.47.244.54 )
If you are getting an internal network number like 192.168.xxx.xxx
then your Router may have been configured as "Dynamic DNS", and
you may need to log into your Router to get it.
(Instructions on how to do that are shown at the bottom of this Post)
| Run the following COMMAND as well: | Tracert pics.plentyofsite.com |
| Also run: | NSlookup pics.plentyofsite.com |
Copy & Paste the above numbers into a reply post to this thread.

Just a reminder to all if you're experiencing technical problems with images not showing up - ONLY.
If you're experiencing not being able to see your pictures or any other images on profiles/forums and see a red X in the picture frame, or any parts of the site has lost its formatting (doesn't look like it used to):
STAY IN THIS THREAD and do as directed !

Get DNS Server Number from Router |
| 2. | Under Windows 95/98/ME, type: COMMAND
Under Windows 2000/XP/Vista, type: CMD
Then click < OK >
A "black" Window will come up. You will see a "Flashing Underscore" at the very end of the Line as shown below:
| C:\Documents and Settings\localuser\ |
That is the COMMAND PROMPT |
| 3. | At the "COMMAND PROMPT", type in the following: ipconfig |
| 4. | On your Keyboard, hit < Enter > |
| 5. | Check the Number beside "Default Gateway" ... 192.168.xxx.xxx or whatever it is. |
| 6. | Open your Internet Explorer or other default Web Browser and type the same Number into the Address Bar, but without any http://www or www in front of it. Just the "same" identical Number as shown beside the "Default Gateway".
On your Keyboard, hit < Enter > |
| 7. | A Window will pop up asking you for a Username and Password.
(Check your Router's Manual for that Info unless you have changed the Username and Password before). |
| 8. | Once you are into the Router, look on top or on the left Side for "Setup" and then for "Status". (Sometimes "Status" is on the 1st. Window when you login to the Router) You will see IP Address and DNS or Static DNS in that Window. |
| 9. | Post that IP Address and DNS or Static DNS here !
If following the above Procedure produces a 192.168.x.x Number, its the wrong one. In that Case, consult your Owner's Manual for your Router how to obtain the "DNS Server Number". |

Yes, I uploaded a new pic today, and just realized it isn't here anymore.
I will give it a couple of days and try it again, if it doesn't appear.

Posted: 12/1/2006 9:29:09 AM | Yeah, my image is gone as well...hopefully it wasn't lost since the computer I uploaded my image from is no more. Given the lack of pictures I have right now, I'd almost might as well delete my profile if it was lost since I know a profile w/o photos are pretty much ignored.
Does anyone know when the latest the photos will be restored is? :) | |

Posted: 12/2/2006 12:00:07 PM | The only prob I'm having is with the way the forum posts are showing on my profiile. It only shows 2 of the posts I've made and those are run together like 1 post. I know I've made other postings since they show up when I check "My Forums" so I can't figure out what went wrong with my profile forums. Help, before someone signs me up for a ride on the short bus!
