FEATURE: Can I Re-Take the personality test
Posted: 4/21/2007 12:58:22 PM
Hi all, I did A search and could't find the answer.

So, can you re-take the personality test? I rushed through it the first time (it was late!) and would like to do it again.

Thanks

PS, It would appear that I have to make a simple question wordy and verbose in order to satisfy the minimum word/thread starting requirement.....

Please accept my most humble apologies for this boring you to death with this simplistic filler material.

I think I have blathered meaninglessly long enough.....here goes nothing!

I'm also looking for the answer to this one...

It would be nice if you could pick your type on your profile (override the test result). I have taken other MBT tests that gave a slightly different result than the POF test, and I would prefer to use that type.

I'll watch this thread for an answer...

We can't search based on the results yet (can we?), so I saw no hurry to take the test in the first place. I'd sure hope we can re-take it though, else it becomes part of our 'permanent record', and, we might change.

So, can you re-take the personality test? I rushed through it the first time (it was late!) and would like to do it again.

When you've taken the quiz, you can click on the Personality Search link, and search on whichever type you like.

As for retaking it, I believe it's under re-work, hence not at this time.

It was also found that after people retake it, nearly 50% of people were still in the same category, no matter how much they tried to re-answer certain questions to what they perceived would give them a "better" result.

The result may be the same or not but I signed up quite late and blew through it so I could get to sleep! It seems tied to the registration process now.

Maybe a moderator could give us the scoop!

I want to retake it because I was looking through it, and I accidentally submitted it without finishing the test. If there is a way to, I would really like to know. I can guarantee you that mine would be different had I not accidentally submitted it (by my finger slipping on the enter key).

If they allowed everyone to re-take the test them what would be the point. That would be like re-taking an IQ test till you got a score you were comfortable with. If we were allowed to re-take the test then the results would be quite tainted and invalid.

Why would you put any stock in a test that someone can just keep taking till they match up with the people they want. seems kind of silly if you really think about it.

I also took the test and didnt know it could only be took once and was just playing with it now I cant change it and it shows up on searches. there needs to be a way to change it or reset it. it should have also stated that it could only be taken once and that it would show up in searches.

there is...
delete your profile and create another.

and when the test results are the same...just repeat...until you get the result you desire. or, don't take the test.

Hi Don: That's my question also. I also rushed through it. Didn't know about the 'impact' at that time.

Also I would like to know if somebody reading my profile, can also read my personality test? I haven't been able to see that on profiles?

Thank yo for any help! Anybody!

Can you re-take the Personality test?

Only if you can provide us with a note from a mental health professional that you meet the diagnostic criteria for "multiple personalities" under the APA's DSM-V.

Otherwise, ...no.

People change over time. Life changing events occur. Wouldn't it make sense (or at least seem realistic) to allow users the opportunity to take the test after, as an example, three months? This would discourage the folks who want to change their answers in oder to achieve desired results, but acknowledges the changes in peoples lives.

Just my $0.02. YMMV

The test should allow you to retake it once at least.

I took the official Myers Briggs test (that the personality test on POF is based on) on two separate occasions . The tests were administered by registered career councellors, and I got the same personality type both times. My result from these 2 formal tests is different from the POF result, so I think it should be possible to change the personality test.

The POF test isn't bad, but it's just not comprehensive enough to obtain an accurate result. When going through it really quick without realizing it will become a permanent part of your profile, it is easy to end up with the wrong result (I'd have taken more care with it if I'd known it was permanent and would probably get the same result as with the official tests I tookif I'd considered the questions carefully, and no, I do not have mulitple personality disorder!).

I finally noticed a difference in someone's personailty test. Is there some way to make it a little easier to interpret? (INTP, ENTP, etcetera)?

Hi,

I would really like to retake the personality test over again or is it the needs one? Anyway, i went thru it kind of quickly and I must have said yes to wanting children as all my matches want children and I definetely do not. So is there a way of retaking it especially is there is such an obvious error? Now where do i look if someone has the answer. Newbie in Sudbury

You cannot re-take any of the Tests again, as that would defeat their Purpose.

When People don't like the Results, they keep re-doing it until they are happy about them, or more pleasing.

And when the test produces results that are patently WRONG?

I'm a decidedly touchy-feely type. I get a lot out of a little contact; holding hands, a brush of the cheek, and so on. The test produced the exact opposite result. I thought perhaps I had selected incorrectly for a couple of questions and thought I should retake it. Now I find I cannot do so?

That should be changed, in my opinion.

removing it from your profile just removes it from others viewing it
it doesnt delete it
