What's up..the remdies you suggest do not work...someone must have infected your servers.......How about posting some info on the opening page to let people know about the problem and when the possible solution will be made.

i have reset my limits and this still does not work.
what am i doing wrong? or possibly i have had this person blocked (not remembering ever blocking anyone) and if he is blocked,. how can i find that out?

Posted: 7/13/2007 4:16:46 PM | This is the first time I've logged in to the site in a couple of days, and I've had to go to extraordinary efforts to do so...still can't access my inbox, and pages load very very slooowly(slower than molasses in January) is there a server problem?
Initial reaction was to blame my crappy dialup ISP but am not experiencingproblems with any other sites.
Unfortunately( or perhaps fortunately, it IS Friday night lol) I can't stick around to discuss the issue, and I'm not sure whether it's related to the email issues other posters have mentioned but I thought I would throw it in as possibly related. I have never before experienced ANY technical problems with the site. That's pretty amazing considering the number of users and the fact that it's free.
Just thought I'd chime in in case my problem is related to the email situation other users are reporting.

Posted: 7/13/2007 4:54:33 PM | I don't know if anyone else is getting the same symptoms as me when trying to send emails, but I've found if the message is over 4 lines that fit in the text box, then it times out after awhile and doesn't send the message. Giving you a "page cannot be displayed" message.
If you keep the message short and under about 4 lines long. Then it will be sent immediately.
I tested this by sending myself about 7 differing length messages.
Can anyone tell me if that is a problem with my own system? Or does the POF messaging system need attention? | |

Finally managed to get to the forums after 4 hours, but can't even get INTO my fishmail.
Here in Bermuda we have 3 fibre optic cables feeding the island to ensure internet traffic can be re-routed, so aol can't be the only North American carrier affected.
I guess you can disregard my last post in the help forum.

I don't think its about Carriers or Cables per se, but some other Issue.
Nor am I saying you have the same One everyone else here may have.
At this Stage I can emphatically state that there has been an extremely high Ratio of AOL Users running Internet Explorer 7.0 (and some 6.0) who have had Login Problems.
The Facts have borne that out.
Other Websites have also had Issues with AOL Users and have attempted to create Work-Arounds for them.
You need to update your Firefox Browser to 1.5.xx ... you are running a very buggy one right now under Win98 ... as I also had tons of Trouble with the 1.0.xx Versions.
Further, the bare Majority of Users on this Page are pretty well running the same Groups of Ad/Spy/Malware/Browser Hijacks which I have rarely ever found with Firefox Users.
Mind you, I can only see so much.
My Theory? and a Theory only at this Time ... IE has a Security Exploit that is messing with AOL/MSN/Compuserve that is affecting access to Websites. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Microsoft is already in Progress of patching it up, waiting only for the next cumulative Release.
I suggest everyone Test this by downloading and installing Firefox, then come back and tell me you are still having Login/E-mail Issues. The worst Things that could happen is that we all get a little bit wiser.

I can log in - no problem, post in forum - no problem, but I can't reply to my emails and I tried to send my self an email, and not able to do that as well. Seems to me with so many reporting the same problem - it's a bug or virus in POF servers
