I have a photo posted, but it is private. When I try to email some who has a "no photo" block, and I attach a photo to my email, there is no logical reason for my email to be blocked. They can see my photo. Site owners....you really should make a change to allow this. I have legitimate reasons for not making my photo public. Thank you.

The messages are being blocked because you don't have a publicly displayed pic on your profile. The lady has chosen to block message from guys who won't show their faces. This is their choice, and has nothing to do with having a good or valid reason for not posting one. For example, this is from the mail settings area: Allow emails from Local Singles Events: No Allow emails (first contact) from users without images on their profile: No Receive email when someone adds you to favorites(3 per day max): No On my settings I clicked on NO for Allow emails from users without images ON THEIR PROFILE. ^^^That was just generic example of what the mail settings looks like, and not my own.

The Admin had disabled that Feature sometime ago.
A Photo that is publically posted has a higher Legit Factor than a hidden one you supply by E-Mail. In other Words, if you have no Objection to posting it publically, you obviously have nothing to hide.
You state you have "legitimate reasons for not making my photo public", but then so does every Scammer in the Book.
And that is exactly what this Filter blocks ... those who feel their Photos cannot stand the Light of Day. That is a Criteria, you may not agree with that, but that is nonetheless the Choice that the other User has opted to select.
Allow emails(first contact) from users without images on their profile:
I don't have users without a photo blocked, someone with no public photos sent me a message recently and she said there was supposed to be private photos attached to the message, but I don't see any, is there something I'm missing?

My guess would be she just didnt attach them. Have her try again. Your not blocking her, she sent a message and just didnt get the pics attached it sounds like.

this doesnt make sense. Any scammer worth their salt would just put a false picture, easily found anywhere on the internet, as their public picture. People who do NOT put up a public picture probably have one of two reasons: 1)they have legit and personal reason not to, or 2)they are just a very dumb and unsuccessful scammer.
I agree with the OP, the site should modify the pic option. Usually the reason the blocker has chosen to block this is because they want to see if the person is attractive, not because they want to block scammers. So allow the email pics. :)
The problem with the way the feature was blocked is that users who click "no" on the "allow users with no pictures in their profile" believe that they are blocking users who have no picture at all, not even a private picture. Previously, you could email someone if you send them your picture privately -- no private picture, no email accepted. That seems to me a better approach.
Your picture is your identity and you may not wish to be deluged by emails just because you happen to look damn good. And yes, there are plenty of legitimate reasons (including personal security for people in specific jobs) why it is important not to broadcast your picture on the net.
I'm new to this site and I'm trying to get my profile up there with my image on the 'prvate' setting. Everytime I change the drop-down box to 'private' and change screens it defaults to showing my picture. Consequently, I've hidden my entire profile until this is sorted out. Can anyone help me on how to do this?
By the way, re the above conversations, the reason I want to hide my image from general browsing is because I'm a healthcare professional and I don't particularly want any of my patients who may be on site coming across my photo.
Thanks for any advice anyone has on how to achieve this, apparently simple, operation!
hi, is there anyway to prevent anyone from the site to copying and pasting the pictures you post on here?
I've talked to more than a dozen members here who have told me they were able to copy my pictures onto their own desktop, and if it's as easy as that, what is the guarantee that my pictures won't be passed around on here to someone else and them claiming it as their own?
I know a couple of other dating sites that prevents you from copying a person's profile pictures or any pictures they have in the gallery by turning off the option from copying it. Can this same be applied here?

You're talking about websites that disallow the browser "right-click" option to "save image as ... ". Yes some sites do that ... not just the dating ones. That might be inconvenient to the person saving the pictures but it won't stop them. A simple "print screen" will temporarily copy the entire desktop display to the clipboard and then pasted into an image program for cropping. I do it all the time. As Trap said ... as long as an image appears on someone's screen, they can capture it. There's no way prevent them. Some people have suggested putting a "watermark" on pictures so they become less desirable or usable. Try that.

Yep ... POF is one of the easiest sites to capture images from.
I can't imagine how any moderator wouldn't believe that users of this site would want to secure privacy. Some of us are having private images only for work reasons, others, like myself, for safety reasons.I wish the site developers could have enough sense to recognize the need to have a private image. Why even bother having that option if you can't use it? Bad judgement on the part of the site developer and moderators who believe incorrectly that those who don't want their pics posted publically have something to "hide". That is beyond silly...And not female friendly either. Wasn't there a case of a Match.com user being raped? Get serious POF...

Newsflash. Quit blaming moderators. This site has TWO VOLUNTEER moderators who help out in the forums and try and explain how this site works. We are not employees or have any vested interest in this site. Nor do we have any input or control over the sites features, functions or policies.
If you want to hide your photos thats FINE. Just contact people who don't require photos.
The site isnt preventing you from using the private image option. The preferences of the users that you are trying to contact are. While you are bringing up safety concerns that have merit, this site allows people to cater their profiles and contact information on an individual basis. I personally appreciate a free site giving its members that kind of freedom. Match is a paid site, which makes the people who frequent that site customers rather than members, and may give more attention to someone who has a complaint.
In addition, you also have to look at it from a males point of view. We males make decisions based on what we see first, which is why commercials that are targeting males usually have extremely beautiful women in them. To further that...we guys are also concerned by picture-less profiles because deep down we are concerned that it may be a guy, or an ex playing games, or some other threat to our dating experience.
