Can't post. Why?
Posted: 1/29/2008 3:04:58 PM
Hi. I can't respond to posts, though I can create new posts. I haven't had problems in the past, but today when I try to post I get the login info. When I log in again, I still can't post. Are there tech problems affecting the forums? Or have I been banned without knowing it? (I try to follow the rules.)

Thanks.

First and foremost, ensure your Security Settings and Internet Options are in Order.

Disable/Clear your Browser's Autocomplete Function.

Forum + E-Mail Logout, then go to Edit Registration and change your Password.

Then delete your Cookies & Temporary Internet Files and restart your Computer.

Then log into your E-Mail, then Forum Login again.

Thanks, moderator.

I followed your advice but had no luck. A tech savvy friend suggested changing browsers, and that did the trick.

Joy! I can post again!

I'm posting this in the hopes it will be helpful to others with posting problems.

I'd tell you the name of my tech genius friend, but then he'd have to kill me!

As usual, that would have been the next Round of Dealt Cards, as your IE was too outdated anyhow.

Nevertheless, Internet Options also apply to your Firefox Browser, so make sure the Settings are correct.

Doesn't take much of a Genius to see Internet Explorer is a Malware-Hive.
The User Agent tells it all.

Tickettoride, thanks for all your help. I'm way behind the curve when it comes to technology, and I appreciate your generosity in sharing your expertise. I will check out the links you've provided to learn more about browsers.

Thanks again. It's great to be re-connected with the forums.

Hi, I have a similar problem and was able to post new threads before, but now I can only post to already made threads. I'm guessing I may have been banned, but don't know it, since it was working before, but if I haven't then perhaps I can try what you suggested to the other user.
