If you were logged on to this site, it will show that you were online. | |

|
| Profile Info Posted: 3/9/2008 7:28:32 PM | My best guess is: those are likely the people who haven't logged into this site lately. | |

| Profile Info Posted: 3/11/2008 1:41:27 AM | | I apologize for replying when in actuality I have a ?. I am virtually computer illiterate and am wondering why some profiles have the word "dating" flash on them when you view their pics. and if this means that they are dating someone how do they get the info to appear. Also why do some profiles have the "leave a voicemail" option and some don't and how would I get that option on my profile! Sorry, I couldn't get to the place i needed to be just to ask a ? Thanks in advance to anyone who sees this and can answer! | |

Sounds like Adware, or you have something like the Funwebproducts Malware running on your Computer feeding them up.

 | Probably because your Profile/Account is very new. Give it 3 Days ... |

| Can I Remove the 'Online', 'Online in Past Week' from my profile view Posted: 6/6/2008 12:44:10 PM | | Is there any chance that when it says "Online Today" that it could be an error with the site? Wishful thinking on my part because I met someone and we've been dating for almost 2 months, and I'm shocked to see that he was online today. I've hidden my profile and am no longer searching, so naturally hurt to see that he's been online rather often in the past 2 weeks. :-( | |

 | Extremely Doubtful if not Impossible. |
He may have accidentally, mindlessly & automatically clicked on POF, logged on, then realized he never wanted to come here, then logged off and went elsewhere on the Net.
Perhaps he has compromised his Password Security, and someone else got a hold of his Login Infos.
Your guess is as good as Mine.
But just don't go into Panic Mode. I cannot fathom how many Fights and Breakups are the Result of People spying on each other logging into POF then ripping each other's Heads off riding the "Cheater Spookwagon".
Don't read anything into it. Ask him if you are not sure. |

| Online w/o appearing to be online.......... Posted: 6/6/2008 5:04:52 PM | | So what I'm getting here is that there is no way to log on to POF without appearing to be online....Reason for my concern is alot of times I'll simply log on to check my messages and while I do that I get contacted by several people and I don't want to seem rude or aloof....but I also don't have time, at the moment, to chat. | |

| Online w/o appearing to be online.......... Posted: 6/6/2008 5:20:19 PM | So what I'm getting here is that there is no way to log on to POF without appearing to be online. Booting off Users who have added you to their 'Favourites', ie. from your Who Loves Me List, and Hiding your Profile is just about all you can do, because you can't be located in any of the Searches.
But as long as someone has an E-Mail from you in their Mailbox, or the URL of your Profile, they can see and contact you. You are actually not really hidden, only hidden from Searches.

| Can I Remove the 'Online', 'Online in Past Week' from my profile view Posted: 6/8/2008 9:50:35 PM | | Ya, I'll admit it, I'm spying on him to see if he's on here. What can I say, I've been burnt before. I'm not playing around on here, just unfortunately spying on him and searched the forums to get advice on this. My profile is hidden so that nobody new contacts me because I consider myself off the market. Maybe he considers himself still on the market. I'll be a grown-up and talk to him about whether or not we are exclusive. | |

My profile is hidden so that nobody new contacts me what's to stop someone from seeing this post and clicking through to your profile and contacting you?

 | Might be a good Idea to update your Profile to reflect that, since Finger-Pointing can be a 2-Way Street, and your Profile visible to him & the World via these Forums. |

| Can I Remove the 'Online', 'Online in Past Week' from my profile view Posted: 6/9/2008 2:58:23 PM | Okay, thanks for the input. I appreciate you pointing out that I'm not seeing all angles here!
One last question though for the moderators... since the options are "online today", "online this week" and "online in the past month", how much time passes between "online today" and "online this week"? i.e. if he last logged in on Saturday and then didn't log in again for a while, at what point would it change to "online this week"? I know this may seem odd, but all I want is to know what I'm dealing with here.
Thanks! | |
