The question is, can you kiss after a good squirt?

OVER 50 And Alone....again.
Posted:

The best thing about being over 50 is, I don't give a crap anymore what people think of me. That being said, I don't like being alone. don't like eating, sleeping, going out and spending the holidays alone. been there and done that! Seems to me, ppl who like being alone have been hurrt a tad too much and don't want to get back on the wagon...
I love my dog, but only so much....

CHICAGO - A judge agreed Thursday(11/30/06) to release a man serving a 20-year sentence for a 1992 rape that DNA tests showed he didn't commit.
Can you imagine if he was tried for murder and executed???

Democrats Poised to Take over Congress
Posted:
10/22/2006 9:08:44 PM
With the upcoming election, looks like the demos are going to take over at least one wing of congress(the house). Now that would make GW a lame duck pres. Is this a bad thing? On the suface some might say yes. But should the presedent have full autonomy to do as he pleases? where are the checks and balances of government? when you have all one party you start getting rediculous and draconian laws that threaten the very foundation of personal freedoms we all enjoy. Some may call it a do nothing congress, but I'm beginning to believe there's nothing wrong with that. We get too many laws on the books, we sacrifice freedom for security. I for one welcome a lively debate on the floor. Too bad it takes a majority of the public to change the views of a few. So, get out there and vote! Thanks for reading.

No More Career Politicians!
Posted:

"Just look up filibuster and you will see what I mean."
Fillibusters have been around since the beginning of the country. they were designed to keep us from getting unwanted or more laws then we need. When you're a career politician, you can learn to circumvet it.
" 'term limits are big mistake and will inevitably cost more money in the long run'
So let them stay in office as long as they want..."
Term limits are nothing more then a slap in the face of the voters. the republicans tried that in the early 90's and failed miserably.

Canada Vs. USA
Posted:
6/29/2006 10:53:59 PM
"because Canada as well as many other countries do care and know more about Americans than they do about them,..."
Maybe because there is more news in the papers and on tv about the US then about what goes on in their own countries?
"It's that very,.."the world revolves around us" attitude that is offensive,"
Thinking most americans think that way is pretty offensive in itself.
""why should we speak Spanish,...they should all speak our language",....contraversey, that's in your headlines so often lately,...."
begs the question, how much french do most canadian's speak? Heck, about as much as american's speak spanish. seems there's no "controversy"there.
"It also makes you very vulnerable,...because you who believe in the truth , the whole truth,....are all too often getting a one sided view of things,.....far from the whole,... anything"
believe it or not, most americans get cable and watch BBC too. Oh that's right, canadians get cable too. seems alot more american shows then canadian shows on canadian cable. why is that?

Why the US is settling trade disagreements with Canada

" The funny part is the guy who made that comment most not even realize that the quality of life in Canada is higher then in the USA.
Please provide some facts and figures
Look it up your-self, its out there. I really could not care less if you believe it or not."
That is funny. I go to canada about once or twice a week and I don't see it. And if you can't back up your statements, you tend to loose quite a lot of credibility. And as for oil in canada, if you produce so much, why is your gas over 4 dollars a gallon? as compared to venezuala where it is 12 cents a gallon?

2 Political Parties is the problem
Posted:

"The other major problem is that every election Libertarians make legalization of crack their number one priority."
What crack have you been smoking?? No EVER said smoking crack was OK. Libertarians believe what you do in the privacy of your own home is your business. if you want to smoke crack and die in your own home, go for it. When you take it outside, then you are talking a different story! The problem with the 2 party system is they both want a lot of laws on the books, it's they can't agree on which ones. Less laws, more freedom. Vote Libertarian!

"I do think there is risk in the direction the economy might head towards (key word is might)...but I think it for other reasons. I don't think you can legislate drive and motivation...and I know sitting around and crying about how hard it is hurts you and helps me. Frankly, I'd prefer the competition."
Hmmmm.... Very short sided there. It's fine when there is a level playing field, but when you're older and some unscrupulous company(Enron, lincoln savings and loan,to name a couple) has taken your hard earned retirement from you, filed bankruptcy and you are too old to replace it, then you tend to do a little crying. You are younger, you start a business only to be squelched by wal-mart, you might start crying. economics 101 says there will always be rich and poor, thats black and white. it's when the rich start infiltrating the "gray" area is when you have to speak up.

" "On top of recrd profits, the government gives them more money...figure it out."
Trite and disingenuous. The 'profit' you speak so sneeringly of is in raw dollars only, the profit margin of the big oil companies is only 6% (Exxon), about the same as any other retail business. Complain to the government for the 40-50 cents a gallon in taxes if you want a quick drop in prices. That would drop prices 15% alone."
15% is nothing at 3.00 a gallon. that would still make gas $2.50 a gallon, and whose to say they wouldn't raise it more any way? But 6% of 300 billion is enormous. Doesn't sound trite to me.
The answer is, do what they did in the 30's, break up the monopolies again. But of course, that would take a president of the ppl not of big business.
