Raw vegetable juices
Posted: 1/8/2009 2:15:17 PM
nnow just what kind of vegis were you shoveing through that juicer satz?

I love fresh vegi juice I don't juice as oftain as I should though. I have a champion juicer and it gets the job done and then some Its not so bad with clean up either.

My fav is apple and ginger root too especially granny smith apples yum.

My standard juice is as green as it can be....Wheat grass juice.... That will knock yer sox off with great energy. I have a special juicer for that though.

By far my fav right now is green smoothies, I just blend some greens and fruit and drink it down its the best way to start the day.

Nestle Water Plastic Bottling Plant in Black Diamond/Orting
Posted: 9/9/2008 2:18:05 PM
haha Orting water... Perhaps they should go a few miles south to the garbage dump that was put on a main aquafer now that is a joke a garbage dump placed right smack on a wet land and a major aquafer that supplies water to Tacoma. I would think Nestles Co. could use that aquafer.

Self Diagnosing
Posted: 9/8/2008 1:00:22 PM
It is so frusterateing to go to a doctor with an issue and not be taken seriously. For example my father, motherinlaw, daughter and a friend all had something very seriously wrong with them and they went to a doctor for several years asking what is wrong yet the doctor either disregarded what they were saying or just ignoreing the issue. In the end My father had emphasima and went to a doctor for three years asking for answers and my motherinlaw had diabetes she went to a doctor for four years without answers, my daughter had some pains in her neck and back and it took the doctor three years to find a serious defect in her spine and my friend had severe pain in her side and it took the doctor a year to take an mri to find spots on her liver. With this kind of problems with doctors I sure will look on line to see about symptoms if I have them or my family. I like being informed. However, I do understand the hypocondriac and how frusterateing it is to be around them. I enjoy being healthy rather than ill so I seek health rather than illness.

Wildcrafting herbs
Posted: 9/7/2008 8:27:32 PM
stinging nettles are a herb and they are packed full of nutrients.
You can dry them to make tea
you can eat them raw if you fold the leaf with stinger side in , kind of like a taco
I usually eat them raw but they tast better than spinach cooked.

When eating themyou will get a huge boost of energy. They are packed full of whats called phyto nutrients and are a great restorer for the body.

Water Fasting--who has done it?
Posted: 8/20/2008 5:15:07 PM
this is so funney, oh canaduh, I just wonder where in any of my posts I was encourageing the op? I was hopeing to discourage her by explaining something about water fasts. I do agree about a 60 day fast being dangerous and I would not want to encourage her to do that there are other ways to lose weight and other ways to be religious that is all I was trying to address. I really don't know why you have to use a haughty and angry tone here its way to simple. You seem to get all riled when religon is mentioned that is real funney as well.

Detox
Posted: 8/19/2008 9:50:04 PM
I have never heard of chlorox for a detox bath. epson salt bath is good I took a bath in wheat grass juice now that is a real good detox item you can drink it and that will detox you real good :) Wheatgrass juice is the king of juices and the king of detox. Try it you might like it but drink it on an empty stomach or you will be burping it all day :) I would stay away from the clorox and go for the green anything with chlorophil is good for the body.

Water Fasting--who has done it?
Posted: 8/19/2008 9:28:59 PM
I really don't understand what you just said, ohcanadah, You seem so sure of yourself here. I simply stated that I fasted for health reasons and those health reasons became much better due to the fast rather than paying a doctor money I don't have to pay I just did it my self. There are people who just cant afford to run to a doctor for everything you know. Dry fasting is very difficult for to long period of a time. and I really wouldnt suggest it for to long of a time but you know we all fast when we go to bed at night and get up and eat break-fast that is why breakfast is called breakfast.
There are people who fast for "religion" and I think it is not a joke for those who are spiritual. I do agree about dogs and other animals though they know what their bodies need sometimes they eat grass in order to puke as well

Water Fasting--who has done it?
Posted: 8/19/2008 6:51:38 PM
I have water fasted for about 15 days for health reasons. I think it is a good tool to use but not a tool for weight loss because the metabolisim will slow way down and you will most probably gain back your weight. Water fasting is a wonderful tool and will lower your blood preasure and clean out the body real well. The body will start eating itself basically and will first work on the bad cells the tumors and even your hemoroids will shrink and dissapear from fasting. One problem with fasting is the amount of toxins our bodies have been subjected to in this era makes it potentially dangerous to fast due to the body detoxifieying so quickly and dumping to many toxins out to fast which will make a person very sick. there are many other alternatives to water fasting one is the Master cleanse and another is juicing freash fruit and vegitables One will maintain energy levels and still gain benifits of fasting without the mega dumping of toxins. One of the problems that happens when waterfasting is the toxins are being pulled out of your body and end up staying in the colon because there is nothing to push it out or absorb the toxins so the faster ends up reabsorbing the toxins unless it is flushed out of your body. So the water faster will start showing detox symptoms and some of the symptoms will make you real ill. I am hopeing I am makeing some sense here.
Now the religious part of fasting is another story not to sure what to say about that but fasting does clear ons thinking up a bit and makes it easier to think of God. But are you fasting to be religious or to lose weight? Now there are other ways a person can lose mass weight and still eat wonderful foods as long as the foods are fresh uncooked vegitables and fruits nuts and seeds. I am hopeing this is helpful for you and hope you rethink your reasons for fasting for so very long on just water. there are many people who juice fast for well over 60 days and do just fine. At this time I am doing the master cleanse and am finding that to be a wonderful fast. Whatever the case I wish you good health and keep reasearching about fasting.

Philosophical Dilemma : Throw it away or fix it?
Posted: 5/4/2008 12:14:59 PM
I use duct tape frequently but the picture wire, mind if I use that one as well. lol In the days of v.c.r's I had a stock pile of various pieces to patch them together. I really loved opening them up and figureing out just what made them work. When it comes to fixing a machine such as a weed eater you can google for repair ideas or just ask someone who knows. If you should choose to not bother to repair the item there is craigs list free listings and you can post it there or place it on the road side with a free sighn someone will find it as a treasure. Pull coards should not be that difficult to repair though. It has a spring action inside and you might be able to find the part at your local hardware store. I have a troybuilt rototiller that has a pull coard issue I usually have to hit the case that encloses the coard in order to pull start the tiller. It works so I am not going to "fix" the problem. The tiller is valuable to me and to replace it would cost me about a grand should it need repairs I would have it done and as soon as possible because I need it in the spring.
As for the philosophical side of this. It has become a throw away society but we all need to be aware of the items we dispose of.

very interesting. I listened to her whole speach. It sounds real scary. I was upset about the iradiation of almonds. Now I cant have raw almonds unless I search real hard for them. It still says "raw" but they have been zapped with radiation and are void of the vital enzymes makeing them useless for consumption.
Yes, we need to question everything, don't we.

Healthy smoothies
Posted: 4/29/2008 6:13:23 PM
junglejeff, I never thought of using aloe vera juice in a smoothie. for a bit of body use some hemp seeds or avacado. hemp is so creamy and smooth lots of body from them little seeds.
I have some green powder stuff yet have not braved it because it tastes chalkey. I dare anybody to use stinging nettles though, they are a real energy booster

for the poster who asked about spinach, I like it because it is mild and rich in minerals It is a good energy maker the body loves green food.

Quitting Smoking
Posted: 4/29/2008 7:36:11 AM
I have quit many times throughout my life and than even after many months would light one up. I have used the patch and gum in the past. A year ago {last july} I started to look into alternative health. I started to eat more healthy and decided to quit smoking. I read that for any bad habit you wish to break it is important to replace it with something else. That is so you don't feel that negative feeling of something being taken away from you. In thinking of what to replace the smoking with I came up with deep breathing, so every time I wanted to smoke I would take a deep breath of air. It usually takes three days to get the nicoteen out of your system but the habit is still there and you will miss having something to do with your hands. I have been smoke free for about a year now and when I see someone smoke I don't wish for a cig I just feel happy that I don't feel so crappy and stink like a ash tray. I thinnk it looks so unatural to smoke now that when I see someone with a cig I think it is an odd sight and just looks stupid.
Best of luck on this, you can do it.

hey satx, I would say the hormones they are feeding the cattle now days are making us so sick. I would be careful drinking the milk products. People are so scared of not getting enough calcium and are sold the fable that milk and milk products are so necessary. In my opinion the more greens one eats the better they feel . Just experiment a little

Eat wild honey to combat allergy problems???
Posted: 4/28/2008 8:07:47 PM
unfortunately most honey is heated in the process, even the local honey because of state laws. If your honey has bits of bee legs and bodies in it and if the honey crystolizes after time it has not been heated. Now there is bee pollen and that is something to look into. The bee pollen is known to be an aid in alergies. Beware though some people are alergic to bee pollen. I put some in a smoothie, about a spoonfull and instantly my eyes and nose started watering, then my face turned red and palms started itching. My throat started closing up and I broke out with large red spots. I had to take benedrail. it was not fun. You can just take a little at a time and ease your body into it.
I have been looking into stinging nettles. I have them growing in my back acres. They have some properties that help as an algerie remidy.
You can also eat edible flowers, They have pollen in them and that builds a resistance.
Working on ones diet is an aid as well. Eat healthy fresh non processed foods and that strengthens your imune system.
best of luck to you and keep searching you will find it

Healthy smoothies
Posted: 4/28/2008 7:49:55 PM
For my smoothie I really like lots of greens in it. I like spinach with frozen strawberries and some banana for smoothness, I blend it till it is smooth very tasty.

I like kale as well with some banana and a berrie or frozen peaches or mango.

Lately I have some stinging nettles growing in my back acres and I go out and cut the tops off and blend it with an apple and a dash of cayanne and a squeeze of orange or lemon juice sometimes grapefruit.
I find the smoothie very easy to digest so I am left with loads of energy. I try to make them as simple as I can though and have tried to not use much in sweeteners because the fruit is plenty sweet for me.

I have problems with soy products {they give me gas} I think soy has been hyped as an healthy food however it is proven to be very bad for the body.

Fresh squezed orange juice is better than the processed juice. It is more filling and not heated, heating your foods taked much of the nutrients out of the food. I use to enjoy yougurt but you have to research the yougurt now because some of it is over processed and the good asidopholis culture is heated out of it makeing it useless for a digestion aid.
I would like to try some of the see and nut milks though that sounds real good and I would also like to try a young coconut {I have not found any yet}
I have recently read that it is important to actually chew your smoothie so it is mixed with the saliva to aid digestion.
Smoothies are great enjoy.

Probioitcs
Posted: 12/18/2007 3:59:11 PM
jenny~girl and soft edge. I do hope you two get healthy. I think you can make your probiotics at home. Check out Rejuvelac google the information on it. I do believe this would have some digestive properties and is an aid to health without the great expense. As fr yougurt be careful on the type you eat because unfortunately sme yougurts have been processed way to much and have lost the goodness along the way. I don't know what brands but do your research before buying. A lot of things have been heated and the good nutrients have been destroyed in the process.
Take care and I hope you have a better and healthier new year

Wheatgrass
Posted: 7/20/2007 8:52:32 PM
Wheat grass juice is by far the best, You can grow the grass real cheep yet you will need a special juicer because the grass is so tough and stringy that most juicers will become bogged down and sometimes actually heat up while juicing the grass. I grow the grass myself and purchase the seeds for 58 cents a pound. The seeds should always be organic. it usually takes about 12 days from soaking to cutting the grass for juicing. I found a health food store that sells a tray of grass for 10 dollers. I always have a couple oz's of the juice in the morning.
When it comes to green juices I find that carrots always mellow the tast real well. Get a juicing book with different combo's that would be helpfull. Our tast buds will change after a while though and sometimes we will aquire a tast for the total green juices. I have. I use to be a coffee drinker in the morning but now I am a wheat grass juice drinker. The wheat grass sustains me much better than coffee.
Everyone should drink wheat grass juice. It makes people smile.

son going to iraq
Posted: 4/23/2007 11:36:02 AM
whatever the name of it is it is fighting blood guts and gore......... My son is in the army and has been over there three times and is scheduled for the fourth time. I am very concerned for his safety going over there. I would prefer to not see him going over to that hole for the fourth time. The first time he came back he could'nt speak of what the mission was, the second time I wish he did not speak of what happened over there and after the third time he resigned up. I am very proud of my son and really see that his being in the army has given him some direction in life. Personally I am not sure about the conflict in Irac and the reasons why we are involved in it. All I know is that one should expect to go over therre like it or not if you sighn up for the military. As a mother of a son who goes over there, well, I will be praying for him all the time and there will not be a minute that passes that he will not be on my mind.
Do I support this war? Not really........Do I support my son......Yes

Green Tea Diet
Posted: 4/13/2007 8:50:59 AM
I have been taking the green tea capsules 500 mg, one cap before every meal. or three times a day. I usually don't "diet" and am very carefull concerning herbal suplements that hype people with weight loss. I took the tea capsules and have found that I have a decreased desire to eat foods. I have found I have a control in what food I want to eat. I do not know if I lost any weight yet my clothing is fitting looser than last month. I have read some on the green tea and found that you would have to drink gallens of the stuff in order to get the desired effects of fat burning and anti oxident whatevers from it so the pill form is very effective.
I am going to get another bottle of the pills because I have found it to work. I do find I am thirsty but I do need to drink more water any way.

How do I tell my 7 year old her dad's a jerk?
Posted: 4/8/2007 2:56:07 PM
A gift is a gift. Do you want her to always expect a gift. This is really a very materialistic thing. He did visit her after all. Some children dont even get that.
However the promise factor is another thing. She is learning that some promises are not kept. What is life about anyhow. We all experiance promises that are not kept. The child is learning that her dad is not a promise keeper. There are worse things a child learn from parents, don't you think? The question is do you want your daughter to learn that mom bitterly hates dad and says mean nasty things about the man who is her daddy? That is far more destructive for a growing child than missing a gift.
We all love our children and want to protect them from adverse things and harm. Keep your feelings to yourself and try to talk to the father alone to alert him about the childs hurt feelings due to a broken promise.

His dog has a shoe fetish
Posted: 4/6/2007 11:01:22 PM
I'm not an expert on dogs but my last dog was a sneeky guy. He especially enjoyed the left shoe. He knew what he was expected to do and what he should not do. He had plenty of attention to boot. There are just some dogs that do not want to obey. Any how the kennel is the best thing to use. Get one large enough to keep in the house and keep him in it from time to time. The dog will eventually enjoy his special place. You will enjoy the control you will have on the dogs bad behavior. With the kennel you can start getting some control over the dogs bad behavior. Good luck to you

smoothy makers and juicers
Posted: 2/18/2007 10:36:44 AM
a blender seems to do the trick just the same as those "smoothie" makers. I got my daaughter one of those majic bullets for christmass and the thing burned out making just one smoothie. The blender I have has been kickin for years though. I have a champion juicer also and it will crush ice and make snow......The champion will do almost anything from juicing to making ice cream or peanut butter. The price is high yet it is a very versitile tool in the kitchen.

what do you consider to be a good human being ?
Posted: 2/3/2007 11:19:41 PM
pansatyros had a great response for this one ... so a (good) human being is the human being that is always striving to discover the Truth, no matter how illusion shuttering and hard that experience can be...

...the rest are details...
I think it is so very easy to become short sighted and "think" we are being a "good" human where is the truth? people have a tendancy to play it safe and talk the nice talk.
being kind and careing is a great attribute but how far does that go in relationships? Self centeredness usually is a key factor in bad humans. kind careing giveing selflessness, those are all great attributs in a person.

st. brigid's day
Posted: 1/30/2007 7:45:58 PM
He walked into my life
in the most pecular way
sauntering in the house
one sunney summer day

did'nt pay much attention
to his smileing face
but day after day
I began to learn of his ways

At first I was concerned
from all the stories I had heard
his misbehavin ways
breaking the house rules

my heart began to grow fond
of that four footed beast
Who would great medaily
after a long day at work

never had I experianced
such a character
who would dance and talk
or lay his big head in my lap

The only flaw was his fate
he loved adventure
no fence would keep him
no boundries he would make

Just had to write this one in memory of my dusty dog. I never thought I would become attached to that dog and worked hard in keeping him in the fenced yard. The day after a big wind storm which dropped three trees along the fence line and wrecked the fences he decided to wander outside the boundries of home. Due to laws in my area and a grumpy neighbor I had to let my dusty go to the animal police. I miss him dearly.

Should you stay in a loveless relationship when kids are involved?
Posted: 1/24/2007 9:56:04 AM
Well, well............ After ten years of producing the kids you want out of a relationship.....
I presume the wife has been warn out with the kid deliverin and all and perhaps she don't look so purty now?
four kids in ten years is a big job, not only to produce but to raise. It seems most married people don't take the time to cultivate the relationship they pledged to have with each other. One thing I find distressing is the woman usually gets the short end of the stick so to speak. Not only does the woman have to grow the child inside her and cause great distress on her body but usually she is left to do the dirty work in raising the kids. While the man can simply plant his seed and sit back and watch things happen around him. Than when life just ain't going so great for the man he has the option to take a hike. Menwhile the woman who was spending all the time raising the kids and not much time cultivating herself in the work force will usually find not to many job opportunities available
I am sure a "better life" will florish for the man who leaves however the woman will be left to pick up the pieces and all.
I really get descusted with this attitude....... If you don't want to work on your relationship with your wife get out then and give the woman a chance to find someone who will have a realistic relationship with her and the kids you produced.

Does an illegal immigrant deserve the same respect as a legal immigrant/citizen?
Posted: 1/19/2007 10:53:47 PM
This is a true story...
One day my youngest daughter asked me a very serious question. "mom, are there aliens?"
Well I had to tell her the blunt honest truth and explained to her yes dear there are aliens. Her eyes grew the size of silver dollers and she asked me what they look like and I had to explaine to her that they look just like us. This conversation went on for about 15 minutes weather or not they would hurt us or anything else about these aliens. I had to explaine to her that there are some people who want to live in america and dont want to do so legally.
Any hoo just thought to share this ............ whoever these people are and whatever desperation they are experianceing I do hope there would be a solution.
As for the respect issue All people diserve respect however there are legal avenues for people to follow in orderr to get citizenship In my opinion these should be followed.

Usually I would shovel the sidewalk myself and not give it much thought about it. I came across a woman I worked with who always had men doing things for her while she sat on her but smileing. She had bleached blond hair and unuasually long nails. She was not a real pretty woman however she always had men doing things for her, even to the extent of painting her toenails! I was amazed as I observed her unabashed way of simply asking and getting. One day she explained her philosiphy to me, She stated that most men enjoy helping women and she felt she was doing a service towards men, so to speak. She said that men feel more masculane when they do things for women.
Usually I prefer to do things myself, from changing tires or fixing my car to lifting heavy things {I have been a very physically strong woman} I have always been a "I'd rather do it myself" person. So one day I decided to request a man standing around to lift and move a rather heavy object for me. Now usually I would think nothing of this yet I decided to experiment a bit with a man. Now don't go off thinking I experiment with men and all but I did notice the man was pretty happy to help and show off those muscles and all.
I just wanted to say, its not bad or wrong for a woman to do things that generally men do and its not wrong for a man to not do things for a woman.
If you want a man to jump up and read your mind you will be very dissapointed in life.

no matter how hard we try
It is so hard to walk forward when ya are lookin backwards
I sure wish I could tell myself that when I get a bit down in the dumps
it seems some people see the glass half full or half empty, if you know what i am talking about
there will be that special person for you when the time arives..... but menwhile enjoy life at the moment and find that balance so you can be lookin up instead of down and see herr walkin your way.

After 20 years...stay for the children's sake?

to quote an old saying
"He who walks on both sides of the fence will eventally become castarated!"

in my oppinion The fella has little character to have this affair on the side before resolving his presant married situation. Should the relationship continue and have a future the woman will always have the shadow of his potential for not keeping his word in a rrelationship. I really don't see the relationship haveing much of a future for the woman.
She should get out before more dammage has been done for herr and give herself time to heal. Her character is not much eitherr to allow herself to become envolved with a married man.

stomach ulcers & blue-green algae
Posted: 12/18/2006 4:17:16 PM
check out wheat grass juice. In my opinion it is the best of all ailments and purifys the blood. great for the digestive system and other things. great energy booster. drink it on an empty stomach and start out with an ounce google ann wigmore and you will find more info on it. The blue green algae has lots of benifits also yet the wheat grass juice is by far the king of health food

Anything Goes...

I do concur this pond has grown
In some places its taken a life of its own
Never was a poet till I swam in here
but still i'm a bit wet behind the ear
as I sit behind the puter
in awe and amazed with such talented people
so here in the pond I grew a bit bolder
with encourageing words from our friend om
not here to cause any trouble
just thought to have some fun

well in anything goes
I went through a storm
the wind nearly caused my trailor to roll down the road
I thought to bring out the sails
hells bells
the wind did roar and whistle
taking the week and not so deep rooted
pruning branches and weeds
even took my ford
drn truck just watched
helpless and humble
as the wind came through
all rough tuff and tumble
bulling its way, well whos goin to argue
took down that fir tree
with only a rumble
just stood there and staired
as it crushed my truck
well guess im sh out of luck
oh fu**

heres to hopeing that the car wreck
is not giveing you to much heck
just how is that neck
hopeing the best
for you angelpurrrrs

Three Cats and a Christmas Tree!!!
Posted: 12/13/2006 8:25:02 AM
I too have some cats...... They are eyeing the tree just waiting for that opportunity to pounce upon it and take it down.
When I was a kid I had a pet raccoon, She was worse than a dozen cats put together. We could'nt even have a tree as she cliimbed it constantly.

Would the Ideal Christian be Recognizable?
Posted: 12/11/2006 11:16:29 PM
statueman, I personally have seen good christian people, who were very nice hardworking regular people, persecuted. In my opinion I feel that if jesus were to come to the earth in this century He would be treated the same way as He was before.
I am not sure if people would recognise Jesus, but there would certainly be something that would be noticable and attractive.
That just seems silly to "follow" a christian...... A true christian would not encourage nor allow that. And to ask for prayer well who is the one who answers prayer any way?

statueman.......A real christian looks the same as any other human on this old earth..... A real christian would have a peace withiin which radiates outward. A real christian does not need to cary a bible everywhere or quote scriptures all the time. A real christian would be a straight shooter and laugh and cry just the same as anybody else

The Number One reason people leave a Church
Posted: 12/11/2006 10:53:03 PM
well to answer the question presented..........

I went to church for many years..... I enjoyed the people and the singing and just to be around people who enjoy worshiping God........... Then I became a single parent...... I moved to another area and attempted to become envolved in a church {perhaps I chose the wrong church} as a single parent I did not enjoy church any longer. I had a difficult time fitting in with the other women and all because of my single parent status.

It is very hard to find churches that do not iritate me..... I really get uncomfortable with some of the dishonesty and hypocritical people. I also have other opini0ons that do not run on the same lines as most "christian" churches. I find that oftain times I want to be to confrontational with some people and perrhaps say something that I might regret later or rock the boat to hard for some. So I find myself holding my tongue and then feeling bad because I did not say something that I thought was right. [if that makes any sense]
Even though I do not participate in going to a church I do believe in jesus christ and God and the holey spirit I just have had some bad experiances with church es in general and have made a choice to stay away.

that knows to plan and has the smarts
like the ants laboring throughout the day
instinctual plans but is there smarts?
all work and no play
they say it over and over a nd over
laboring throughout the day
wandering thoughts of time away
work work work day aafter long day
so time passes by and by
just where is that pie in the sky?

while sitting on the edge of the pond
waters reflection of reversed trees
and me looking back at myself,
all wavey and free
I tossed a rock shattering my face
in little ripples across the pond
while gazeing I saw myself
through refracted light
in waves upon waves
moveing out of sight
