warning to newly separated

Yep, this has happened to me too.
Had to go through and change all my passwords on everything.
Unfortunately, here in Australia, restraining orders aren't worth the paper they are written on.

Are there jack of all trade guys out there somewhere?
Posted:

Isn't this simply a case of variety is the spice of life. Not necessarily variety with different "partners" but different scenarios, even pretending to be different people, role play, toys, places. I'm only speaking for myself but if sex was the same day in and day out then you know what to expect and sex would become another thing you do ie. work, housework, cooking, washing, sex in the same ole same ole routine. Would drive me fricken insane! Give me a jack of all trades for this jill of all trades anyday.

Maybe I'm just cruel but after mentioning your "needs" to him and getting that response the first time, I would have simply broken out my favourite toy and dumped him there and then.
Mutual satisfaction - bring it on!

By the way can someone please tell me how to get the box thing with what other people have said to come up in your own post? For the life of me I can't work it out.

Natural ways to beat depression
Posted:
4/20/2009 9:57:35 PM
"I'm no medical professional, however I really do believe that a great deal of "depression" is in the mind - it's in your head."
Mike1968, depression is a chemical imbalance and yes it's in your head but it's not something you can "control". It annoys me that people assume that a depressed person actually wills it on themselves to be in the hell that is depression, and that they can just "snap out of it". So is the ADD you suffer from in your head too and you can just snap out of it???

Are there ANY women who don't CHEAT?
Posted:

I would leave a man rather than cheat on him.
I wouldn't like it done to me, so don't do it.
The guilt would eat at me too much.

Why do so few men take part in yoga.?
Posted:

"Yoga will NOT give you instant gratification, it takes a while. It does help with stretching, something we all need. It's not the answer to everything but it's an integral part of your well being. As a runner, I appreciate the benefit of many yoga poses and I recommend it to anyone who cares to listen lol"
I have found yoga harder than a lot of other "classes" I have taken. It doesn't just help with stretching but all over muscle strength, flexibility and if you do Bikram both physical and mental strength and stamina. The benefits of yoga are plenty not just "stretching".

It's actually very common. I mean, when I want to see a pic of them I prefer to see the top head first not the one that controls them. Plenty of time to see their "salami" if I want to

As others have said as long as you don't smoke it around or in front of you, how can that possibly make you a bad mother. That's just ridiculous.
To me, him saying something like that is just a way to get at you because you rejected him.
Keep choofing babe!

How much sleep Do you Actually Get per Night ?
Posted:
4/14/2009 11:32:53 PM
Another insomniac here. I've tried everything and refuse to resort to medication to help me sleep. On most nights 4-5 hours max and very rarely unbroken, unless I've had a few drinks to knock me out
I generally don't feel tired at all during the day and at night can be yawning and feel really tired but when it comes to actually falling asleep, can take hours to do so.
I don't think I function any worse than the average person because of it though.

Organic food costs where you live?
Posted:
4/14/2009 11:29:14 PM
Organic food is generally quite a bit more expensive here in Australia. But I honestly think that the more people demand and buy organic food the cheaper it will become. We are already see more organic food in mainstream supermarkets here. Of course growing your own food organically will obviously be cheaper than buying it.
I'm lucky in that my mum grows all her veggies organically and always has plenty to spare and love how much nicer it tastes.

Pregnant girl threatening
Posted:
4/11/2009 4:37:43 AM
"Every time you step in the bedroom to have sex you run the risk of pregnancy. If I ever got pregnant I sure in hell wouldn't be having an abortion. Abortions are emotionally damaging and especially at such a young age could scarr her for life."
Hear hear. Her body, her choice. She lives with the decision she makes for the rest of her life either way.
Personally, I think he should "man up". Financially difficult for him???... come on! What men have to pay for child support rarely covers the costs of raising a child. And if he has nothing to do with the child he has no emotional and physical investment of time to make either. I say bravo to her for having the strength and guts to continue with her pregnancy. And... there are two sides to every story :-)

Antidepressants
Posted:
4/11/2009 4:02:03 AM
I agree with NOLA chick. Try natural therapies first.
After a particularly nasty start to 2008... I went to see my Dr, was feeling very down, unable to eat, tired but unable to sleep... blah blah blah. Did the whole survey thing. Dr says... oh, you aren't just depressed you have anxiety as well.
So he prescribes me Avanza... well. Biggest mistake ever! Within 2 weeks I could not sleep at all, my legs jumped and ached all day and night, I cried constantly and couldn't even speak to anyone. I was not eating and yet gained nearly 10kgs.
I knew in myself something was very wrong. Took myself to the hospital. They took me off the Avanza, and transferred me over to Effexor. Effexor gave me "brain zaps", made me want to sit on my arse all day and do sweet fa, and although I could sleep again, I was having the most horrible vivid nightmares.
I personally found eating walnuts, bananas, getting fresh air and daily walks, sunlight everyday, yoga, uplifting music, keeping your universe simple and as free of negativity as possible, surrounding myself with positive people and on those occasional days when I felt "the blackness" kicking in again, I would take St Johns Wort. Cut out caffeine and alcohol completely and eat as much fresh fruit and vegies as possible.
I don't doubt that medication does help and is needed by some people, depending on their condition but it's certainly not the best way to go for others.
I still have "brain zaps" and jumpy achy legs from my encounters with anti-depressants and haven't taken then for more than 12 months.
I hope you find what suits you best

I think you will find, with research, that this is far from the case.

Natural ways to beat depression
Posted:
4/9/2009 10:19:30 PM
Fresh air, exercise (especially walking in the fresh air and yoga), a handful of walnuts (high in natural serotonin), a banana everyday, sitting in the sun (without glasses) for at least 10 minutes everyday. And no coffee or alcohol.
Keep your "universe" small. Eliminate negative people and situations from your life as much as possible. Talk about how you feel - don't bottle things up. It's a given that 1 in 3 of us will suffer from depression at some point in our lives.

Signs of emotional abuse.
Posted:
4/9/2009 9:09:43 PM
"I don't really want to say I keep them private. I have depression in my family and he knows I'm on anti-depressants. As for counselling, he knows I have someone I confide in and helps me through this stuff. He says I need to change and he won't change unless I do. I'm trying to be a happy person but I don't know exactly what I need to change."
What you need to change is to get out of that crappy relationship you are in. Especially if you are suffering from depression, trying the change or deal with an emotionally abuse partner will make your depression worse.

Zoloft question regarding sex
Posted:
4/9/2009 8:42:03 PM
Zoloft sucks! I had no sex drive whatsoever when I was taking them and my sex drive is normally off the charts. Had no such problems with St Johns Wort but then again I changed my whole way of living... ie eating better, getting more sunshine and exercise etc.
