I don't really see much wrong with your profile. It shows your sense of humor and what is important to you. I think if you change your profile and take out things you put in to it because YOU thought they were important is a mistake. Who cares if you get 100 emails a day from interested ladies? If they read a profile that doesn't truthfully represent you then aren't you wasting their time and yours? I would keep it as is and when the woman comes by who see it for what it is and likes you, then your 10 steps ahead already. And as for the dog thing, I know what its like to meet a great person, and then have them not understand how much you love your dog. It sucks! Get it out in the open so you can find a like minded person and maybe a new friend for marbles!

wow, very well thought out and mature for someone in their 20's.
and thank you for understanding.

I find a lot of things that I could change in my profile make me feel like a salesman.
and "selling" someone is talking them into something they don't want or need just to make the sale.
that's what players do. I'm not a player. Never have been.
in fact i never lie to anyone. it's too much work, remembering what you said, telling their friends, and snowballing it... it's too much bother.
the truth comes out the same way each time, because it's the truth.

One comment I have is about your screen name. It makes me think of the part in Jerry McGuire where she breaks up with him because as she says "I met a wonderful man who LOVES my son, and he really likes me" Are you looking for someone to love you or marbles? Just my thought. If I saw a woman with a similar screen name like maybe "fluffyneedsadad" I'd run to the friggin hills. just my .02.

short answer, Both.

BTW, Marbles is already 7 years old so she only has 3 to 6 years left.
I intend to enjoy having her in my life and make her as happy as I can.
If someone you loved was given a medical statement like that how would you feel?
I hear and understand what people are saying, but I suspect that the people saying these thing have never had animals in their lives.
It's nothing negative about you or anyone giving this advice;
it's just that until you have a critter in your life, that bonds with you,
it's something most just wont understand.

I think you could well be laying it on a little too heavy with the dog loving

Thing is,
In many ways I like Critters more than I do people.
With animals you know instantly what they are thinking.
There is no hidden agenda, they never lie, they don't have ulterior motives.
They live in the moment, not in the crap that happened 3 years ago...

I have a hard time trying to sum up the mass of contradictions that is me in something as small as a paragraph.
At times I have written about topics (myself being one of them) and more often than not;
I am misunderstood.
I don't know if it's because I'm prone to speaking in metaphors or allegory;
or if it's because I assume people must know what I know, I'm just an average guy so people must know what I do....
but people seem to just not get my points.
even if i write about them at length.
My Folks, most of my teachers all the way through school hell anyone that has met me says I have "the gift of gab"...
I can explain anything to anyone face to face; I just loose out when it comes to writing stuff down...
and my "freestyle spelling" doesn't help either.
thank god for the spell checker.

i prefer the temporary tattoos that wash off in a day or two.

those are not tattoos,
they are paint or stickers, but not tattoos.
oh sure many call them tattoos, but truthfully,
those of us that are tattooed often feel slighted
when people refer to paint on or sticker designs as tattoos.

a tattoo has it's own built in right of passage.
until you get one, you wont understand.

Tattoos are a choice, but also reveal the kind of person they are.

Yes it certainly does.
My family has a long Military tradition that I have traced back to the early 1300's.
We all have been Tattooed and/or similarly marked to show the brother hood with our comrades in arms.
lead the Black Watch for generations in Scotland
my family served in both World Wars,
so if you enjoy your freedom;
you have a great many TATTOOED People to thank.

Officers and Gentlemen, that is the kind of person that gets tattooed.

a person has the right to be free.
a person has the right to express that freedom in any way they choose
so long as it does not infringe upon another person's freedom.

I am close to 50% covered in Tattoo's.
1 is a tribute to the man that saved my life when I was a teen.
2 others are tributes to Strong Women that will not be victims.
7 are or include Dragons. These are personal and unless you see me in
person and ask about them; you have no business knowing about them.

I am planning more.
Mostly tributes to the Soldiers that keep us free.
If you have an issue with anyone getting a tattoo or displaying said tattoo,
(indecent exposure laws not withstanding)
please remember:

I may not agree with what you say,
But I will defend with my life your right to say it.

I've already posted something on a similar subject, but I'll gladly say it all again! I don't get tatoos ,piercings and other mutilations. It's just one of those things that simply make you shake your head and go"why?!"

and other mutilations...
does that include cutting the flesh of the Penis to remove a section of skin?
better known as a "Circumcision"?

and your faith is what? Mr.Hypocrite?

after 40 it is really hard to find a date
Posted: 2/11/2009 3:02:22 PM

I have found it easier since turning 40 to find dates. In fact I find them where I'm not necessarily looking for them. I think your ability to find a date at any age is a factor that involves confidence, physicality, and peace within. I also think that when you aren't really " looking" that's when it most naturally seems to happen, probably because you appear happier and more self assured. Since turning I'd say about 37 or 38 I've found that I am more attractive to the opposite sex, of all ages, then I ever have been. I'm not any prettier, I'm still the same person and have the same interests I have always had, but I go after what I want now, and I " appear" to be happy and confident in doing such. I think that's what men are attracted to.

Sometimes, you have to put yourself back together, or you can't be sure it'll take. Besides, is it fair to ask some new woman to come along and piece someone together from a past hurt?

you do not understan what I'm saying.
and to be honest it's too involved to explain here.
short version is your not even close.

oral sex and swallowing cum and why they wont do it
Posted: 2/10/2009 10:27:59 AM
here is a different prospective,
I was in a Motorcycle crash back in 1988,
after I noticed that my sense of taste had changed and the medical people put me through a battery of tests.
it would seem that just because something tastes one way to you
does not mean it's the same for everyone else.
your taste buds can report strongly or weakly in any given area.
ever notice how some people love a given food but others think it's discusting...
I hate sea food, others love it.
point of note, according to the "SEX EXPERTS" what a guy eats can change the
"FLAVOR" of his ejaculate.
Eating Bananas will sweeten the taste of your spooge. (confirmed by an ex. GF)
red meat makes it bitter.

I'm picky, and if a person does anything to hurt my trust in them I end it right there.

My heart was broken back in 1988, and no one has cared enough to put it back together.

Dating and being Disabled.
Posted: 2/8/2009 11:25:58 AM
it's not any easier on the other side of the fence.
in 1988 I was Engaged to be Married, my SO and I kept it to ourselves till I could afford the ring; on my way to her home to do the whole one knee thing in front of her parents I was in a near fatal Motorcycle Crash. actually I did go VSA for over 5 minutes.
when I came out of the coma 6 days later, I discovered that my left arm was paralyzed.
a week later my SO walked out on me saying "I don't want to be stuck wet nursing a crippled freak the rest of my life..."
13 major surgeries on my arm, 2 on my left knee and I have approximately 25%
use of my arm.
and that is a big deal for me as I'm a DRUMMER.
started playing drums when I was 6 years old... and man are my arms tired! buh dump bump!
and yes I am Presently a working musician.
but, I'm single... have been since 1993; mostly by choice, I cut people loose the second you hurt my trust in you.
and can't seem to crack through the glass wall surrounding me.

Is everyone full of crap now?
Is bank roll the only thing a woman is looking for these days?

Women seem to want contradictory things in a man, Ladies please help me make some sense of this...
Posted: 2/8/2009 10:49:29 AM

You probably don't get responses b/c you're fugly or you come on way too strong in your attempt to "get some."

I would be careful calling people "fugly" if I were you,
Pageant Winner you are not.

As other poster have stated, unless you're an Adonis who shits money please don't expect women to be falling all over the place in submission. Yeah, you're probably gonna continue not getting laid unless you grow a brain, some maturity to match, and fix yourself up.

So your purpose here is to man bash, add nothing to the discussion, your very words show that you have not read the entire thread, and your remarks are unfounded and immature.
but your only 24, so really you are not qualified as yet to comment.

"Grow a Brain" I hold degrees in Design Engineering and Advanced Theoretical Physics.

As for ...Shitting Money... this implies that you are either the "Hooker" other posters referred to or you are a Gold Digger.

either way, your Tail isn't worth it.
mostly because of the refuse between your ears.

so as I read one profile after another I keep seeing the following:
LOOKING FOR A:
Male
with in +/- 2 years of my actual age (not posted age)
Live within 5 miles.
Must not have messaged users looking for intimate encounters or sex.
You must have a picture to contact this user.
Must not be looking for Other Relationship
Must not be looking for Intimate Encounter
Must not want one night stands
Must not have had a one night stand ever
Must not do drugs
Must not drink
Must not be married
Must not smoke
Must not think about sex
Must accept me as I am
Must be experienced well established professional man with his own home

OK, so exactly what is this guy supposed to have experienced?
these characteristics are those of a shut in!
this is nutz!
when did a guy wanting to get laid become such an evil thing?

men get asked this question as much if not more than women do.
or at least that has been my experience.
I turn 43 in March 2009; women look at me like I'm the last package left on the grocery store shelf during a sale.
my reasons for being single are quite valid, but so are their reservations.
Is there something wrong with this person?
If they are physically attractive, media stereo-type attractive, why aren't they seeing anyone?
Are they cheating?
Have they been in prison?
Are they nuts?

because we have focused on the frightening shock elements that we are bombarded with in the news we expect the worst of people.
