Dating Someone On Welfare **
Posted: 6/10/2006 11:14:44 PM
look, dating someone who is on welfare? so what?! we have mega corporations and elected civil servants who garner more tax revenue in one month that all the welfare cases put togeather do in a year. in the 80's with Reagans "war on poverty." the automobile industry got the single largest "loan" from the gov to do "research" on fuel efficient cars. at the same time the airlines also got major financial backing from uncle sam.

at least when Money goes to the "welfare cases" it actually does something worthwhile.

no I don't feel that financial status should matter all that much, and if it does you need to recheck your priorities.?

Is it possible to fall in love, in 1 week?
Posted: 6/5/2006 10:05:55 PM
Love is patient, Love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects. It always trusts,
always hopes, always perserveres. Love never fails.

I would like to recommend a great book for you all to read, its titled "getting the love you want." if nothing else it will change the way you perceive what love really is.

"NO!! Lust, or infatuation, or desperation, but not love, not in 99.99% of all situations...Not impossible, but highly improbable"

that is soo sad to hear. obviously so many of you do not know what love really is.

Just wondering is it really possible, to fall in love in 1 week?

Has anyone ever had that happen?

Is it really possible?

Or is it lust, or passion?

Lust and Passion are aspects of Love.

I believe that not only can one fall in love in a week, but in a second. the Question is, "Can you love someone all the time?"

Everybody has a past.... but does it really matter ????
Posted: 6/1/2006 7:32:37 PM
That's why they're so vocal about "the past is past". Because they're afraid that, if people start to take in account their past actions, they will be found lacking.

that may be, but it is not for you to judge. you kind of make it sound like you are somehow better, but by virtue of pointing out anothers iniquities, you lower yourself to the station you think you are above.

dude, its ok ,you do not have to be with anyone you can't deal with. I just hope you can be more forgiving of others for your own sake. maybe one day it will be you standing in judgement for all your shortcomings.

Y'ALL NEED TO STOP ALL THE FEAR STUFF. OH, WHAT IF THIS OR WHAT IF THAT. HOW ABOUT WHAT IF YOU MEET SOMEONE AND IT WORKOUT REALLY WELL? "WE HAVE NOTHING TO FEAR BUT FEAR ITSELF"

Little story about a woman I had chatted with. When we were exchanging mails, she said she had two marriages and her first marriage was like an arranged marriage. Then we started chatting... she had dated her first ex for two years before marrying him (lasted 2 yrs). How does that translate into arranged marriage?

Then she married somebody else, had two kids with him and then had a divorce. They never really loved each other... just went through the motions and had a family (her version) :) The reason for divorce was "he does not really love me... just wants me and kids for social image". Huh???? She did not say any other reason for divorce.

well, ok those are things she was part of in the past, and there are always two sides to every story. Still the way you write it's more of a description of who she is now, it tells me that she plays the victim roll and is not objective. those are behaviores that created those situations. the problem is she seems not to have learned anything. as I see it you were right to let her go, but not because of what she did but because of who she is. still its all about the present if y'all follow me. if, perhaps ,she had tried to explain that she was complicite in the play and now saw her own errors ,then "personally" I would not have ditched her, "as for me its all about that people do not what they have done."

Yeah well if I was the "perfect man" if there even is such a thing," because there sure aren't any "perfect" women out there. I am just being myself and if you like who that is, good if not well, ok then.
attraction is just that, call it shallow or what ever but nobody and I mean nobody is with a person that they do not have some form of attraction to. it's not just about looks but it also is not just about who you are on the inside either. its a combination of the two. but never one by itself. ok?! stop pretending people.

Huh?! since when is a present tense verb a past tense verb?

Exactly one second after you finish doing the action. Silly bean.

also to the guy who talked about making a moral judgement, if you can't handle what someone DID in the PAST, its a reflection on you and your inability to deal with the imperfections of life, not a shortcoming of the other person. get a thicker skin my friend.

I suppose that if I have some doubts because he/she is in the sex offender list, is a former dope dealer, a retired prostitute, a paroled axe murderer or a serial gold-digger, it's my fault because I don't have a thicker skin.

Also, I wonder a woman would be so eager to say "do not judge" if she learned that the guy she is dating has a player background, or is a f***-and-tell guy, or if he has several children in a lot of different women.

all I can say is fool me once shame on you. fool me twice shame on me.

I know what you are all saying but the past does not really matter that much. it is not real. you can know someone by what they DO better than what they have or have not done.

It is an adaptation of the saying," you can know a person by what they do, not by what they say."

well yeah thats my fifty-cents worth.

well, not me I like to live in the present. not the past OR the future.

the past is just that, passed. however I would like to know if it was something that could affect me now, like say she has killed other mates in the past. otherwise I don't care.

The nuclear threat from Iran
Posted: 3/20/2006 6:10:27 PM
as an American I have to put my two cents in this. after reading the last page of threads I have to say that there are a few facts that were not mentioned. WE the United states occupy nearly every continent in the world, or are nearby at least. we consume the most recourses and we are the most violent at peace nation in the world. more people are killed here by murder each year than are in many countries who are actively in civil wars.

I don't want to sound like I am unAmerican, but the truth is the truth. who can turn a blind eye in the name of Patriotism, that IS unAmerican. It is our duty to hold ourselves and our civil servants "who seem to have forgotten that that is what they are" responsible for the actions we take, be it by vote or by default. Its we the people not they the people.

Whoi cares about Iran and it tiny little reactor? will they uys it fore evil? don't know. the us is the only nation who has yet? its every one else who should be worried what we might do not the other way around. And that is just the plain hard truth.

"Can't we all just get along?!"

vtsnowman, IF you are going to point a finger at anyone, point it at the U.S. Brittian and France. after world war 2 as "reperations" to the jewish "people" for the suffering they underwent in Nazi Germany, WE gave them a land that was not any of ours to give. and to point out that the Jewish people we gave it to were never even from OR decendants from anyone from the middle east. It is as purely a case of religious Zealotry on our part to have done that as it is for the Muslims and the Arabic to do what they do. If you have ever seen that goes on at the Isreali borders, and the Very Nazi like way the Isrealis treat the muslim people, you sir would not be so fast to make such ignorant statements about who is the most dangerous nation.

The fact is that the Isreali's are squatters on land that is by rights not theres in accordance with ANY nations laws. The united States' support and involvement in the Isreali land grab, is nothing but a pure violation of the separation of church and state, as that is the only thing that ties us to the land of Isreal is the bibles text. we as a government should not be involved at all. however if all the jews and cristians want to put togeather an army and go over there on there own dollar go for it.

this is all just a long way of saying that all the danger and violence in the middle east isn't totally on the heads of the Iranians, Arabs OR muslim people, we have as much a hand in it as anyone.

"Maybe it is the same thing as the people that cut themselves up with razor blades , some form of disfigurement because they don't like themselves ??"

WOW. no offense romanticone2 but WOW, cutting is a long long way from tattoo's and even peircing. yes cutting is a form of self therapy there is a pain inside them that manifests in cutting themselves. Tattoo's are not selfloathing at all. Ritual tattoo has been around as long as or even longer than Christianity. its nothing new and it definately is not based of self hatred.

"and again I ask.....what is the point of piercings and tattooing? Is this for individualism? Is this to go along with the crowd? Peer pressure? Social acceptance? Weakness? Enlighten please... don't understand the reasoning."

Well, speaking for myself, my tattoo's, the three I have, mean something very specific, they are symbolic comments on my life. marks of things that had a profound effect on me. my wings for when I became an adult. My celtic cross for when my father died. and my compass for all the time I spent traveling the country. the only problem is I have a back log of tats I want to get but lack the extra money.

"More checks in the pro column than the con column?"if you have to break out the pro vs con list, that is an automatic con by itself, why do women have to be so analytical. men don't really have a pro v con thing. its all about how they feel with you, speaking generally. all men want really is to be loved, thats why we work, why we make fools of ourselves, ect, ect.

women are like hes smart, but...
or hes funny but...

"you want to see what is coming around the corner, incase it's "better"." exactly, I feel that men think they have less choice in these matters and they DO have less choice. women can search and chose the best one. men feel they have to get it while they can, re: the hunter vs the gatherer mind frame.

men are in actuality emotional thinkers. while women are actually very logical and analitic in nature. at least when it comes to love,. Logic trumps emotion every time, all I'm saying. as an aries, the apitomy of the male spirit, I think men want to be adored and appreciated, its not womens sexuality that scares men its the thought that he isn't worth being adored.

I realized the sexual experience for men is more mental and emotional than it is physical but men seek/desire the physical part of it while for women it is just the reverse. men Orgasm once for the duration of sex and women orgasm many times.
the entire experience of sex for women IS phsyical yet they seek the emotional connection.

what I am getting at is that women are far more analitical when it comes to partnering, men are far more emotional. the gatherer searches and picks what it wants, the hunter sees the opportunity and takes it, as there may not be another.

we seek what we lack is the point, its not sexuality to fear but the possiblity that we are not acceptible to the very diserning female mind. bla bla I could write a book but who would buy it?! LOL

"and my mom is now nagging at me to try"

knowing there are always two sides to a story I can't say who is right, but mom needs to butt out, this is between you and sis. her odvious taking of sides is not helping anything.

"I feel I have done my part and don't think i should have to kiss her ass"

I have said before that the only excuse for ignorance IS Ignorance. you are the one who is seeking a solution it seems so you have the responsibility to be the leader. Apologize? No.
however a good long face to face talk without blame or remorse could help.

at the ages you two are, mom should not be in the middle of this. that is the real problem, my guess is that is why now the two of you are behaving the same as you were when you were children and mom had to step in. Its kind of harsh but its "in my oppinion" the truth here. so mom butt out, sisters sit down and learn how to resolve things like adults.

with all the best intent I truely wish you well. destiplex.

Is it possible to fall in love, in 1 week?
Posted: 2/26/2006 5:34:47 PM
["No offense but that's very naive thinking. What you're describing is a very intense infatuation. There is NO WAY you can know enough about someone by just looking at them, puhlease. If not, then by your line of thinking, if someone walked up to you covered in a gunny sack, you could fall in love with them too - just by first sight - knowing nothing about them, not having spoken to them. Uh huh.

Maybe you're young and haven't really experienced true love? In order to fall in real, true love with someone (not lust, not infatuation), you've got to know about them, have a lot of deep respect and admiration, you've gotta know their little idiosyncrasies and quirks, you've gotta see how they treat others, etc etc. There are far too many people out there who are "in love" with "being in love." I've dated a few guys like this and it's a huge turn-off. I've dated guys who professed their love to me after 2 weeks and it was ludicrous because we'd only gone out on a couple of dates. These kinds of men scare me, I think they're desperate and so hellbent on being in love that they create it in their mind - and they're always clingy, needy, and a pain in the a***. " ] you seem angry about this subject. fyi kinda young 31, got smacked down pretty hard once I loved her she didn't love me as much. she came after me "ie" started the relationship. it hurt alot but all the same the emotion was real for me, love is love even if the other person does not feel it. as to if I am desperate? no not really, women hit on me all the time, I am more discerning now about who I share my love with. being hurt in love has not killed my heart or my soul.
