Favs and folks???
Posted: 2/15/2007 4:52:05 AM
For myself I have "favorites" from all over, sea to shining sea and even some in the good ol US of A. Some of the people that have me on their Fave list just like to see my pictures and even ask for me not to delete them. So If I see a woman that is on a lot of favorites lists I view it as
A) She has a good personality and she has a lot of friends
B) Some people add to Faves thinking they would like to message etc but never do and never delete (guilty of this sometimes myself)
C) As a quick link to my friends to message.
D) Now if she has Lingerie shots or bathing suits etc, I figure it is a lot of "stalkers" who like a quick link to see if she has posted more pictures. Like one woman who "appears on 1187 favorites list" I would hardly doubt she actually has time to message or date that many people.
So is it a deterent for me, He!! no. I read the profile, see if there is anything in her words that appeal to me, Outward appearance is window dressing, inside is what keeps us attracted to the real person.
This is all MHO.

Fine $500 in Ontario for not moving over
Posted: 9/30/2006 7:52:56 PM
This morning on my way to work on the 402 there was a man in a Caddy doing 80 straddling the line. I could see in his mirror he was on a cell phone, and then he had that deer in the headlights look and moved into the right lane. As I pulled up beside him I noticed a laptop propped on the steering wheel, cell phone still cradled with his neck while typing on the laptop. I too was on my cell phone (wearing a headset) in a conference call, otherwise I would have reported this dumb ass to the police. Oh he was also eating as there was a sandwich or something on his dash as well.
You are welcome Sharinda, I know how stressed things get in the office with being short staffed and other book offs.

Fine $500 in Ontario for not moving over
Posted: 9/7/2006 7:45:24 PM
Earlier this summer I had to sit on the 400 for 2 hours. When I read the paper in Barrie the next morning what had happened was someone blew a tire in the go fast lane. Two men got out to survey the damage and the car was rear ended, killing the female occupant in the rear seat. There is something we all should have and that is common sense. While tragic as this accident was, it could have been prevented. The shoulder by the go fast lane is hardly wide enough for a stopped vehicle. Yes if you blow a tire you could do damage to the vehicle by the tire flopping around. But the damage and loss of life is much worse. I too was a truck driver for many years and saw many things from both sexes so it isn't something you can blame on just one sex here. Common sense and being aware of your surroundings should take care of most situations on the highways. My pet peeve is people on cell phones yacking away, and this is from a person who sells the darn things in the first place. I always reccomend a headset, and I personally use one. I also use voice dialing so I'm not pushing buttons to make the call or I pull over. Yes there is a law about cell phone use as well, it all just boils down to common sense. Aside from the injury or death that may occur by not yeilding to a stopped cruiser, remember everyone WE are taxpayers and pay their salaries and a portion of their benefits. So a injured or dead officer hits us all in the pocket books. Have I said common sense yet? My hat goes off to all the police and civilian people who work at what has to be the most thankless job. People female dog (he he) at being pulled over, or other things, but who do you call when you need help? I bet when he or she arrives you are very sweet to them. Bet you don't call them coffee drinking donut eaters to their faces now do you. Driving is a priveledge not a right!!

the new forum!

I'm going to add my .02 here.
There have been some good suggestions on how to start her mower and some not so good.
Also to those men and women who would like to have help in the future here is a good tip.
I own a 5 hp Lawnboy 2 stroke. Giving us handy types more specific information can stop the try this or this which may or may not help at all, because it may not apply to your equipment. That being said, here are a few more tips.
I really don't recommend removing the carb for 2 reasons. First, most carbs have a gasket behind them, and you should replace the gasket as well. Also most carbs now are not metal but a plastic material and if you overtighten the bolts or whatever type of fastener it has there is a good chance of breaking or cracking the carb and experience tells me a carb is almost the cost of a new mower. I recommend a spray type cleaner bought at any Auto Dept. You don't need a whole lot, and when you get the mower running I say give it a few shots to clean the upper combustion chamber as well. If you pour about 1/4 to 1/2 depending on your gas tank size of gasline anti-freeze in the tank it will absorb any moisture and also the anti-freeze has a lower evaporation point which makes starting easier too. Someone also said use Ether, as in Starting fluid. That isn't a good idea either. Might be ok for bigger engines, but if you use too much I can also tell you from personal (not mine though) experience that Ether can turn a small engine into a bunch of tiny pieces. The trip to the hospital to remove some pieces is not worth it.

Before I get a what makes you so much an expert, I raced go-carts for years. I have seen many a problem and many attempted "cures". Basically I have given tried and true information that has worked.
Also before you start mowing the lawn give the blade a sharpen as well. A sharp blade helps the motor keep in it's peak operating range and you will cut your grass faster because you don't have to either go slower or lift it up so the motor catches up. Saves Fuel too which is a bonus.

Herassment More That It Could Describe With Words
Posted: 4/25/2006 11:44:03 AM
Gee I can remember when her ass was two words LOL.
So saying to sexy co-worker "you know the difference between Sex and Ceasar Salad"
"No"
"Wanna do lunch then"
In my former office I had some pretty racy women there. One showed off her new nipple piercings, another described a date than involved some backdoor activity. As the manager I was so carefull not to have anything that would lead to a SH case but man, the things those women discussed in that office, and their wardrobes. They told me several times to "lighten up". I did lighten up but never crossed the line, although it would have been so easy.

Now can I run around the room here, pinch some bottoms, look at your breasts, and make some "lunch" plans?

Why don't guys give out there # ?
Posted: 4/24/2006 5:36:35 PM
A little bird told me an amusing story. A POF woman went to meet this man for a coffee. He gives the POF woman his cell number. Now would it be smart to give out your cell number and leave your cell phone at home where your WIFE can answer it and talk to the POF woman for about half an hour on your dime.

Me personally I have given my number out to a select few. Generally I will give either number if asked, it isn't a big deal to me. If I get their numbers I usually give mine as well. I agree if a guy doesn't want to share their number(s) they must have something to hide.

If you suspected a partner of cheating how far would you go?
Posted: 4/17/2006 1:24:30 PM
I suspected my 1st ex wife was cheating. I was to meet her at her sisters place but she apparently forgot. My ex, sister in law and brother inlaw arrived at the house, in a car driven by a "friend" The sister in law and brother in law exited the blue Camero. The Camero then drove away. The look of horror on my sister in laws face told the story when I started my car. She tried to get me to stay there and not chase down the Camero, but I had other plans. I managed to catch up to the Camero, when it pulled into a drug store. The ex bought a toothbrush and other overnight items. This was all I needed. I then drove to the "friends" place and waited in his driveway. To say her eyes looked like a deer in the headlights of a car is an understatement. I was calm, and approached the car and she rolled down the window. I gave her 10 seconds to make up her mind. If she stayed there her belongings would be packed when she returned home. Since she didn't ride home with me, the following morning her belongings were dropped off at her "friends" house. We divorced a year later, but we are good friends believe it or not. She has said several times she regrets what she did and should have worked on our marriage instead of trying to work it our with "friends". All in all I just needed to know if she was cheating. I had my proof, and I moved on with my life.

Okay, your ex joins POF and starts posting to your threads.....
Posted: 4/16/2006 8:59:17 PM
I joined POF, and I even told my X about the site. We have posted in the same forums, and I for one, don't feel threatened, or feel stalked in any way. I have read threads and read her posts, sometimes giving my .02. Only on a couple of occasions have i addressed her directly, and never have bad mouthed her at all. Yes she is my X, and if you were to read both of our profiles we both state that anyone we should date, should be comfortable with us being friends. I realize DB didn't invite her X here, and as long as he behaves himself I feel she has nothing to worry about.

Cams
Posted: 3/26/2006 9:23:12 AM
I have a cam and I do use it. I don't want to appear with my clothes off or show myself off. If the other party has a cam and would rather do a video chat I'm up for that as you can hear their voice, how they say things etc. What I do find is the min you ask to cam, women automatically think I'm gonna be there with something in my hand. I also don't talk about sex. I'm not looking for a LTR, but that doesn't mean I'm looking for a one nighter or intimate encounter. I have stuff to deal with, and before I have a relationship, I would rather be friends. I just had to add my humble .02 here.

Nascar Fans....I Need your Opinion
Posted: 3/25/2006 10:47:41 PM
Ok a little bird told me that ISC, has started to purchase land. It is in Southwest Ontario and depending on how much land they eventually purchase will decide on the track. Right now the idea is for a 1 to 1.5 mile track. Since ISC is I believe run by NASCAR, although might be partially owned by stock holders, ISC tracks don't seem to ever suffer from loosing dates as do the other owners. CASCAR sold out to NASCAR, will have to see how that marriage works, although Delaware for one has dropped the traveling Tony show. Delaware was the first Canadian track to sign up for the Dodge Weekly Series but they have dumped that in favour of the Lucas Weekend Warrior Series. I'm looking forward to the Delaware season as they have a variety of different classes coming this year. They have the IMSA Super Modifieds, which put on a real good show, I think the ARCA trucks are coming back as well. The Delaware Truck drivers are also going to Barrie Speedway. There are lots of tracks and different classes that run, the main thing is get out and support your local track and the sponsors of the racers so we can continue to watch racing on a local level.

Question 4 Da'Guys
Posted: 3/12/2006 5:38:29 PM
I like MSN and the fact I can have a video conversation. For some reason IM on POF doesn't work on my computer and i'm not about to try and figure it out. I have different group names for Family, Friends and POF. Since I have a ADSL connection my MSN runs 24/7 that way if anyone want so send a message it is there when I go to the computer. As for MSN being a death knell of possible relationship, I don't think so. You know if people are avoinding you if you send a message and then they go offline. That has happened a few times, so then I just hit Delete and voila they never hear from me again.

That's my .02 worth.

scrap IE altogether and just use Netscape or FireFox, either of these browsers are far superior to IE. Netscape 8.1 is full featured and includes spyware scanning and anti-phishing as well. hmmm anti-phishing oh ya a different kind of phish lol. Either Netscape or Firefox also allow you to have Tabbed Browsing which means you can have several open windows, like your mail, pof etc and just go from one to the other. Check it out I know if you aren't used to it it does take a bit of learning but if you are reformatting and stuff you are more than capable of figuring out Netscape or Firefox.

I used to work a tow truck at Delaware and Cayuga and being that up close and personal was the greatest. I met Mark Martin when he was just 16 yrs old the Allisons and Darell Waltrip among others. Watching Jr. Hanley show up with an un-painted car and do a few laps the set the pole if not break the track record. Don Biederman and Jr what a rivalry, there were so many talented drivers, not that there aren't now but then there was more the feeling of the seat in your pants driving. I guess this is just MHO anyways .

hows my profile??
Posted: 3/3/2006 4:10:24 AM
I am looking for my eternal soulmate. I like listening to and playing music, reading, writing, and spending time outdoors. I think the basis for a good long term relationship has to include: unconditional love, trust, at least some shared interests, similar spiritual goals (I'm very spiritual), a respect for one another and to be able to be friends, lovers and even business partners (for financial decisions.) I have a lot of varied interests as indicated by the fact that I spend time in many different forums. Instead of writing more adjectives (boring) please read the following poem as I think it really shows you my heart.

I copied your profile into MSWord and it suggested just a couple of spacing changes. Looks Good!!

Is This Abuse Of PoF???
Posted: 3/1/2006 10:03:05 AM
Sorry Naekid ... about the binary going to BB's credit
I too suffered some form of abuse. For starters She messaged me after reading my profile. My profile clearly states I'm looking for Friends, and I'm separated. So we message back and forth for about 2 weeks. We were chatting one night when she goes off on me, called me a liar said I was married, refered her to the profile again where it says I'm separated. So she responds back with "Listen Jackass, until you are divorced you ARE married!! So she said she was going to report me to the BIGFISH, I said go ahead and while you're at it make sure you report all the other separated people for lying on their profiles. It was then block. At that point I was so steamed. I usually don't get drop dead gorgeous women messaging me, and don't take this wrong ladies, I judge people by their inner beauty, as some of you already know. Just thought I'd share this as men take abuse as well.

The Pictures on my profile are taken with my previously mentioned Minolta Z1 3.2 Mp, not too bad for a digital camera. It has a ton of features and like I said for under $200 I think it is a good camera. I also recommend a good tripod, that way you can use the self timer. Use stuffed animals in the place where you want to be to set the focus then take the animals place. Just a trick I use.

Louis F1 eh, traction control and more computers in a car than the space shuttle now that's racing for sure, NOT!!

F1 is that where they follow each other around for 2 hours? I guess you really don't watch NASCAR or you would know that there are few races like you describe. The short tracks can be that way, but the 1 mile and above aren't normally wreck fests. Again Just MHO.

I picked up a pretty good camera off Ebay. Yes it is an older model but feature rich, and I can add the memory card that now ships with the current model for a fraction of the cost of the "new model". The camera I bought is a Minolta Z1, shipped to my door for under $200.00 Canadian. The retail price of that camera was $599. Shop around there are many deals to be found.

Its All Bertuzzi fault why canada Lost
Posted: 2/27/2006 10:04:14 AM
MHO .... The whole team lost!! Hearing over and over again on CBC the excuses ranging from team selection to the "big ice". Did the women play on small ice? Throwing a "team" together weeks before is not the answer. I liked watching the womens hockey more, instead of trying to put their opponents through the boards, the game is played with speed and skill. The women also played games against mens teams to hone their skills. As was seen practice makes perfect. I think a Sutter should be the coach as well, they seem to be able to get the best out of their teams. To blame just Bertuzzi is not right.

Yup..Big Time NASCAR fan. My first live race was 1975 at MIS, and have missed very few since then. I took my ex to her first race and she is now a big NASCAR fan as well. I have put my favorite driver on hold this year in favour of Mark Martin. I think Mark deserves to be a champion. So many 2nd place finishes, great person on and off the track. Just MHO.
Maybe next year we should hold our own NASCAR party just POFers someplace. With the turn outs the parties around here get I'm sure we convince an establishment to make it exclusive to us. I'm all for starting the ball rolling.

I would have to say right now that it is about 10-1 as to who contacts who, I'm getting on average about 10 a week, asking me for more information or saying I liked your profile etc. I have rarely initiated contact recently. As for the cute remark, myself, I could careless if the woman is a runway model, real beauty comes from within. Classic example, Paris Hilton to some she may be "cute, "hot" etc. but man she's a dumb as a post. How on earth could a man have an intelligent conversation with her? One thing I look at when I read womans profile is can she spell, well written or even interesting. When I reply I use MS Word to write the reply, spell check and grammar check. Now my secret is out. But I have had several write to say how nice it is to get a message that is well written. Have fun, be real.

Dating an amputee
Posted: 2/15/2006 2:03:51 PM
Ok I'm going to step up to the plate here. I have a slight disability. Many years ago I slipped on some ice and fell backwards and put my hands out to stop the fall. I broke both of my scaphoid bones among others. At the time I was told only one wrist was broken and had only one cast, the other was wrapped in a tensor bandage. In 2002 I started having problems with my left hand, and I'm left handed. I had x-rays, bone scans, MRI, and nerve conduction tests to find the problem. It was the MRI I believe that clearly showed that the bones had not healed in my left hand. one of the broken bones was against the nerves in my hand causing the pain. I was referred to the best hand surgeon in the area, and scheduled for a "wrist fusion". A wrist fusion in my case was where they removed the last two rows of bones at the base of the hand/wrist, ground them up and along with removing bone from my left hip, mixed it with some form of material and filled in the gap. A stainless steel plate 3/4" wide and about 7" long was then attached to my hand and arm bone with several screws. I can not bend my wrist, the last two fingers move very little, and have nerve damage in my hand which makes picking things up etc difficult. I have found very little trouble in finding women friends, after all I'm an intelligent, articulate person. I can't do the one handed un-hook the bra with the left hand, but i'm learning with my right hand now. (Anyone willing to help my therapy? LOL) The only issue I do have is during all this I have been un-employed and am finding it difficult to find a suitable employer to overlook the handicap. So in a nut shell I thank the women who have not avoided me because of my little disability. Now if the Human Resources people were only that way.

Urgent advice required, how do I get past this anger/hurt?
Posted: 2/14/2006 7:47:44 AM
easygeezer I sent a message to you. I' going to give a "Coles Notes" version of what is in the message. I have been down that road as well. Bottom line is my ex and I are friends, we have been friends for many many years and now our goal is to provide a healthy relationship for the children. Try to get over the anger, or if you have to be angry do it away from the child, no good will come of yelling and screaming with the child around. You say your child has special needs. One of the special needs is two nurturing adults.

We're all pulling for you!!

ttodd you are way too f*cked up dude. I mean really!! Sex is smelly and dirty, wanting to put them in ditches. Take a look at some of the women who have even bothered to waste their time to entertain you (Thinking of another forum I have been in bangable) I'd be bangin lilkittie like a drum in a parade, or Sugar, Dead, Snuggle I'm the wrong sex for Buffy. My thought is if sex is "dirty" then you're doing it wrong .

Why is it that single fathers can not have a new love?
Posted: 2/11/2006 5:07:27 AM
^^^ Bravo MrRight. I do enjoy my children, I actually spend more than 50% of the time with them she gets them maybe 2.5 days a week. We have a verbal agreement where we will not have our "friends" visit overnight. She thinks because she has a locked door on the family room it is ok for her to visit him there for awhile before going to her bed. She says she has to do this because of the visitation schedule, (which she makes up by the way) she is either working or has the kids, she says she has no other choice. She has even called me to take the children in as few as 1 hour of getting them so she can go visit her BF. I don't have a GF or right now even any female visitors. But I do enjoy the time with my kids and right now that is more important to me than having a woman around that may eventually break their hearts when they leave daddy.

T-Shirts sayings
Posted: 2/10/2006 4:38:27 PM
Dr.Malcolm, yes you can sure waste an hour or so there can't you? The kids shirts are funny as well.

One I had when I was younger A Cartoon Wolf holding a in the air "Here's to all the kisses I've snatched... And Vice Versa"

A Hemi on a Shirt Caption "Injection is Nice But I'd Rather Be Blown"

Bullet holes in the Shirt "Mafia Means never having to say you're sorry"

Can't remember some of the others I've had over the years.

I'm a co-parent, by that I mean I have custody of my children 50% of the time more or less. My ex works shifts, and we are still really good friends which is a double whammy. I find that being friends with her, makes other women wary of a relationship for fear we are going to reconcile. However, any of the women I have become friends with here, my children like very much, and they like my children as well. Being a single dad of 6 & 3 yr olds at almost 50 spells certain doom as to ever having that certain someone. Women my age have children who have left the nest, and they are done in the child rearing department. I don't want a mother to my children, they have one already. i would just like someone for me to share my time with.

Do Men Cry???
Posted: 2/10/2006 2:58:23 PM
I do. Yes those two words made me cry, 10 years later I don't love you anymore made me cry even more. I'm not a "macho man" but I don't cry if the wind changes direction either. I guess I'm just not afraid to let my emotions show, and that my friends is what makes a real man.

In A Grocery Store ... Should I Run Her Down With My Shopping Cart?

Can you pass me a couple cans of ... or if I see a woman looking for something or confused I will engage in conversation. The last time I was shopping I guess I was looking confused and a woman asked me what I was looking for, we ended up shopping side by side. I found out she is married, unhappily she says. She asked what days I "normally shop?" I replied "I never shop normal." So it is possible to meet women in the grocery store. As for the handbasket, even a single woman pushes a cart, but if she just needs to pick a few things even married women will grab a handbasket for a few items

As for Metro, well to keep from being banned by saying something that is unkind, I wonder why you are a 37 yr old Virgin? hold out 3 more years they might even make a movie.

Boob shots in Main Pic? WHY?
Posted: 1/4/2006 4:47:32 AM
Again Just MHO
Let me run with another scenario. (no I won't run with scissors)
So you've fallen in love with her breasts, and then suddenly one day she loses a breast or maybe both. Do you head out the door never to see her again? This my friend is when she probably needs you most.

Boob shots in Main Pic? WHY?

I have to add my .02 here. Personally I find the cleavage shots not necessary, as with the bikini shots too. I have also had women message me with some shots that playboy would be proud of. I'm not a shallow guy. I like a woman who can hold a conversation, inner beauty is way more important to this guy.
