Weekly Mini Burger Night At The Robin Hood Pub In Surrey Feb 3rd!
Posted: 1/22/2009 4:26:55 PM
Hello bcbear4u...aka Gene,

Thank you for the personalized invitation via Pool Dog...I cannot attend on Feb.3rd....maybe another time (too short of notice to change family plans)...

If this becomes a regular POF event, I will definitely try to attend.

I hope everyone has a wonderful time.

Ciao,

Embed music in your profile - new feature
Posted: 4/17/2008 8:53:44 PM
Hello Tyeee,

You state that "Admin" has added this feature?
Does " imbedding", count as a link?? and if yes, it makes me curious about the enforcement note I received recently regarding "links".

Reason for asking is as follows:
Response from Moderator regarding music links on my profile.

<div class="quote">Subject: RE:RE:Hello Sent Date: 4/2/2008 924 AM

Me: May I ask that some allowances be made with regards to allowing me those type of links....

Moderator: If you place anymore Links on your Profile, I will promptly have it deleted.

I only had 'you-tube' music links on my profile and I was sternly advised to remove them or else.

As I don't want any other innocent people having their profiles deleted for such harmless indiscretions, I am seeking some clarity regarding POF policy re: Music Links.
(I wasn't aware that I was doing anything harmful or against policy ).

I do hope they have changed their stance aka policy, to allow links that are of personal preference (but not promotional/spam).

Ciao

Name the number one thing keeping you single..
Posted: 4/12/2008 11:52:48 AM
Me....

Attraction is a big thing for me (I am not saying that I am into magazine or model perfect..I have unique and varied taste in men)...and when I find someone who seemingly "does it for me"...*wink... lol....... it appears that I am not someone who suits them or....they have 'the look' I crave, and have nothing to back it up (intelligence and humour are big turn-ons)...
So goes the merry-go-round of searching for a suitable mate.

I am not shy, introverted or have those other traits/blockers to attaining happiness...I am just a happy single and consider myself "selective".

Carpe Diem.....

Langley Wine Tours in October
Posted: 9/9/2007 12:57:15 PM
Sounds like a wonderful idea....I would love to attend if scheduling permits.

Is this just a tour or an actual wine tasting event? How long does it take (an afternoon?)

Is there some form of "etiquette" required...social graces....(lol...watching the movie "Sideways" ....joking)

All appropriate information appreciated....

Thank you Fiery Fury for coming up with this one!

blockage?
Posted: 3/17/2007 9:50:49 AM
Totally....this fellow was sending all kinds of notes and even provided his phone number...then he came out with a "request of sorts" ...at that point my reply (txt via pof) to him was "I am not that kind of person...not my cup of tea"...when I got home that evening I find his reply stating how dare I lead him to believe I was into him (thought he was ok until his "unusual requirement of women", set me back) and he got very bitter in this reply...
So I wanted to respond to his rant with a bit of " hey...use some common sense buddy"...and it popped up that I was blocked....what a shocker....
It threw me for a loop how someone who could change his "personality and traits" midstream, had the nerve to do that...I guess fear of facing the truth!!!
That puppy really needed alot of ....hope he finds it and not someone else he leads on with one personality and then exposes the other!

UFC 67
Posted: 2/4/2007 7:54:49 AM
The most exciting one of the night had to be Tyson Griffin vs Frank Edgar...what an awesome exchange that was...the finale knee bar attempt by Griffin and to see Edgar just take it ...omg....give that guy a medal...

Both were undefeated going into that match, so I expected it to be good, but it exceed all expectations...

Cro Cop...you just knew there wouldn't be much of a fight for his intro...they wanted to secure him in the UFC, they couldn't pit him against someone who just might take that opportunity away...I pity his next opponent though :-)

Happy to see Silva win...I think it is just rude and arrogant of Lutter not to make his weight in time...as if he didn't know what weight class he was fighting in and when...inexcusable on his part...

# 67...Good Match ups....Now I can't wait for Couture / Sylvia on the 3rd of March and George St.Pierre vs Serra on the 7th of April...

Hello...

Wanted: Ride from Surrey/Fresgo's to Show and back!

I had fully intended to drive to Fresgo's and then out to the Tradex...plan change.
I had to loan my son my vehicle for the weekend and now I am without wheels.
If someone is willing to take on a passenger, please advise (I am in the South Surrey area/Fleetwood).
I will gladly assist with gas money.

Thank you in advance for your help :-)

You're an Expert Kisser

You're a kissing pro, but it's all about quality and not quantity
You've perfected your kissing technique and can knock anyone's socks off
And you're adaptable, giving each partner what they crave
When it comes down to it, your kisses are truly unforgettable.

It's always good to "get" expert advice too!

Kissing is such an essential component ...love this one...thanks Sweet Sunshine!

Unsolicited Profile Advice
Posted: 12/8/2006 11:47:22 AM
Dear who_the_fox,

Your pics are always tastefully done and anyone having a problem with them is truly not fit to judge...

When a sculptor/artist works on a thing of beauty and then displays it, is that considered wrong...

Not sure where this name reference thing is from...first I ever heard of that one...

I think the only thing being asked for is some respect...and my dear of all the people on here, you are the one who 'deals it straight', and with respect to those who deserve it...

Your pictures are awesome...don't change a damn thing because of one sour apple...

Identity of POF at Events-You vote!!!
Posted: 12/7/2006 3:14:18 PM
1) Make your own fish pin, is a great idea...

If we design what we like, then scan or take a pic of it, we could post it as a profile pic so that others attending these events can "match the fishy pin" at the party to the one they have seen on the profile....

It might make for some fun to throw all the folded fishy pics into a fish bowl and have each attendee pick one out and meet someone new...a ladies bowl / a mix bowl/ a men's bowl....a newbie's bowl???

Wishing everyone Health and Happiness during this Holiday Season!

First and Foremost: A huge thank you to whomever arranged and orchestrated this event.

I met with my date (Damien_) and he was awesome. ***The testimonials don't do him justice

From start to finish...a great day and wonderful company...

This was so much fun, I will definitely try it again.

The more POF events I attend, the better it gets!

Wishing you all the best, with your fishing quest :-)

Where am I going wrong?
Posted: 9/11/2006 1:00:59 PM
Only a quick observation:

***Don't assume***

You say you are staunchly independant, then co-habitat after only a short time (gives someone the impression that you need them...sort of).

You say that you 'told' him one thing....(2 or 3 conversations about feeling uncomfortable), yet you stayed ...(the action almost being the opposite of).

From the little I know about men, he is going with what you "do", rather than what you "say".

He sees what he wants from you and deems that all is well and good....and that cancels out the other (the hints about feelings).

My suggestion: Be direct and let your actions back up your words.

If you both care enough, it will all work out.

What do you EXPECT from a partner?
Posted: 9/8/2006 8:05:12 AM
Only what they agree to be or do:

If you have not covered those issues in the beginning (or at some point in the courtship/relationship), you are at the mercy of interpretation.

Disappointment is usually achieved by having false 'expectations' of another.

Asking parent's for tips and help
Posted: 8/14/2006 3:27:19 PM
What worked for me was giving them their baths....and then a good massage.
They became so relaxed and soothed that they almost always slept through the night.
(with the exception of "teething", which totally alters them).
A good lather of baby oil and a full body massage...right from their neck to the toes, is what saved my sanity.
Best of luck. You have alot of great ideas from everyone.
Another one to note...consistency....that is a big one!

Ladies, What Would You Get Him To And Guys, What Would You Do..
Posted: 8/6/2006 1:48:01 PM
If I was the winner of a wager like that:

I would have the gentleman write me 10 (or more :-) coupons
for _________ (blank to be filled at time of redemption)...
with no expiry date.

And then plan the most romantic 24 hours imaginable....
and enjoy...

Sounds like everybody is a winner Carrie

How does music influence your life and your moods?
Posted: 7/29/2006 4:34:23 PM
Music is the blood that runs through my veins....can't live without it...

I totally agree with the OP on his final statement ....

[I often start my day off with some good loud upbeat music to "get me going"]

Right now, listening to "Sting - Fields of Gold" right now....it will compliment and enhance the mood I feel going into my evening with friends....

Good music can bring about such passion....evoke emotions like a volcano, quell inner torment or create it, remind us of love lost or love found.

... a must have in my daily routine.

Thanks Nuthafish...good post :-)

pool tourney in SURREY
Posted: 5/24/2006 6:09:19 PM
I have asked some of my friends who live near there (and are on POF) if they will be going, and so far, at least 4 more are attending that are new and don't post here ...is it still going on? As well, I noticed that the link on the home page is gone.???
Al, (the owner) stated that he will have his big screen tv going (instead of the projector) for the PPV...have you called him back to secure the tourney?

Who should be the next Canucks coach?
Posted: 5/2/2006 10:29:11 AM
First Choice:
As of last night, my choice is Steve Yzerman (Detroit is out of the 2006 playoffs and Stevie's injuries and age will probably keep him from playing another season!)

The guy has talent, heart and brains...if all these other great coaches started out as former players, why not give him a try...

Dating dilema

Dear Anxious,

You have answered your own question...Confidence.
(a confident man is very sexy!)
It is not that you have lost touch with dating.
Work on what is in you and what you love to do...regain your sense of self and the rest will follow. Patience and perseverance will bring you through the tough times.
Confidence will be the magnet that brings women to you.
Take Care.
