Camping without Joanne, , now that's a sad thought.

We're not going to need snowshoes, but warm clothes and extra blankies may be required to say the least. lol

Willie , hope that you can get to TO and join Peter to be able to share a ride from there.

My activity plans are coming together, and I'm sure we're going to have fun

I finally was able to get out the mass email,

I've got lot's of plans for this event and of course will need help with the organizing and getting together the required materials,

We do have extra tents if anyone requires one, always feel free to ask if it's a gear issue or if you have any other concerns.

Sorry to see that so many of the regulars will not be able to join us, they will be missed. We will certainly amuse them with stories and pics from this weekend for a while to come so make sure that you're a part of them.

KINGSTON/BELLEVILLE AREA IS HOSTING BUT WE'RE ASKING EVERYONE TO JOIN US
for HALLOWEEN CAMPING
October 23rd, 24th and 25th

CRYSTAL BEACH RESORT MADOC
Madoc, Ontario, Canada KOK 2KO
call (613) 473-4296
email: info@crystalbeachmadoc.com

COST $ 30.00 for weekend camping, special group rate for POF

WHERE Crystal Beach Resort , Madoc , ( Hwy 62 & 7) . We will be posting directions, but it's quite easy to find.

Main Building (Office) is on the left, as you come in the park. Where you register, that you are with the "POF GANG", and they will direct you to where we are camping for the weekend.

We're hoping that everyone will bring their warm blankies/sleeping bags and join us for the true final camping event of 09. With the halloween theme you know you can count on a spooktacular time with a great group. A costume is on the list of items we want you to bring this time. We're brainstorming to come up with some great theme based activities for the event and look forward to your participation.

As always please don't hesitate to post any questions or concerns and someone will post a reply or will contact you with an answer. If you're short a bit of required gear we may be able to help out there as well.

As per usual there will be a potluck dinner on the Saturday, with our trick or treat theme, could be interesting, lol. I'll be bringing a vegetable dish called " pond slime" and a pasta dish named " night crawlers". You can bring almost any dish you'd like, either standard or spooky, either way we're sure that it will be a welcome addition to our spread.

We also welcome anyone to bring their well behaved dogs, we have quite a few regulars already.

Any Halloween decorations that you can bring will be appreciated, and I need people to volunteer to bring in specific items . If you can post that you'll bring that item I can remove it from the " required" list.

We need a big wash tub type container for the apple bobbing, and a bag of apples,
also at least 3 smaller pumpkins and then 3 larger pumpkins, also on the list are 10 X 2 litre empty plastic pop bottles. I also can't find any halloween decorated paper cups and need a pkg of those.

KINGSTON / BELLEVILLE AREAS POF YEAR END CAMPING WEEKEND IN MADOC
Posted: 9/6/2009 8:27:18 PM
Once again, I will only be able to join for a portion of the weekend due to work, but as always look forward to spending time with friends . The link in the prior post ( to our last event's comments and pics ) shows how much we enjoy ourselves.

Paul does an amazing turkey considering we're camping when it cooks. Our past Thanksgiving dinners were some of the best I've ever had. I'll have to consider my dinner dish, if I can get there in time for dinner.

I'm in Hamilton to see the big grudge game tomorrow, everyone say a little prayer that we get to kick some Argo butt.

The park is easy to find, join us even for a visit, and you'll learn what a great bunch this is.

I found two recipes I'll try out for this event. I'll be bringing a cream crab dip appetizer and a carrot and raisin salad.

Still hoping that the weather will be nicer than it was at the game last night. It was worth getting soaking wet though, it was a great game.

I may be able to arrive late on Friday night, will have to see how it plays out.

I'm supposed to be working, but will take advantage of either sheila's offer of accomodations or paul's to pick up my gear. I won't be able to be there for the entire weekend, but will come up for anytime possible.

We did have a fun time in tweed last time we were there, except for the grass skirts bit, It was also a great rain free weekend, maybe we'll have the same luck again.

For any new people considering joining us, this will be another great weekend away. The scavenger hunt will be interesting to say the least

KINGSTON / BELLEVILLE AREAS POF CAMP MADOC - COMMENTS AND PIC'S

It was another great time had by all.

We played some fun games, and had a lot of laughs. We did as always have another few people who joined our circle and fit right in with the crowd. I didn't get any pics this trip, so waiting as we all are for some of them to be posted.

I'm sure the next event will be a great trip as well and I read that it may be posted soon. I'll help whoever will be hosting the next event as much as possible.

Greetings to all, is anyone fully unpacked yet,

You will be missed warmhearted, I have another lady in Ktown who would love a ride, if there are any takers that would be great.

I'll be hitting the dollar store, and hope that many others will as well, the scavenger hunt list is complete, will be printed out tomorrow, and of course the other games that I have in store for you all, , Did I type that, lol

So looking forward to this, starting all of the packing now, we all know how full my car can be, lol.

I won't be online a lot between now and the event, but will aim to pop in quickly. Don't hesitate to contact myself or mycountry boy, and other regulars who've made themselves apparent.

This will be another great event, don't miss out on it, the weather gods will be good to us this time, just watch,

Good question to ask Bouffon!

I plan on arriving about mid morning, but if I can't get rides for the 2 ladies from Kingston I'll have to set up and then return to Kingston again.

Normally, it's safe to say that by noonish there will be other fish in the park. I think Paul ( mycountryboy ) plans on arriving about then again ( he can confirm ). I remember my first camping event ( Rideau Acres, hosted by JJ and Honesty ) that by 4ish when I arrived there was quite a group already. Of course there will be people who have to work on Friday, so the arrivals keep on happening til well after dark.

Gem, time for you to take over the sleep counts, lol.

Since we can not/do not/will not ask for any monies to help cover the event costs I will ask if anyone can help by donating any small prizes , and I also could use some specific craft items ( tempra paints, brushes, construction paper, markers etc ) if anyone has them already rather than me going out and buying anymore. Would love to hear from anyone who is willing to help out, even on any level at all.

We also have a couple of ladies who would like a ride from Kingston to the park, I will go back and get them ( after I go to park with all of my gear ) if there is no other option available, but if anyone has any extra room and will consider taking either one of these ladies it will make my day much easier.

I'm starting to get excited, think there is only 8 more sleeps till we have to pack up and head out. Thrilled to see that Gem is able to join us, she does add a special element to any event or weekend.

Willie, hopefully I won't need that superglue again this weekend, would love to be able to say it was a coon free weekend. ( Gem agrees with me )

Trailer camping will cost the same as tent camping if you're with us in our group area , which means no hookups. If you wish to be in an actual trailer area, separate from us there is additional costs for the hookup facilities.

Don't forget people, we need wood to burn for the campfire so if anyone has any please bring what you can.

Remember, ask any questions either here in the thread or email any of us regulars.

First, to Wendy, wishing you and yours all the best and hope that you enjoy your nuptuals ( sp?).

As for what to bring for the potluck dinner, it can be anything, we need side dishs, entrees like maybe sausages, or hot dogs, ribs, any bean dishs, just about anything so don't worry about your choices.

We do have some new faces , look forward to meeting everyone and helping them feel like a regular memeber of our group.

My mass email did seem to work this time and I'm getting lots of emails in response so lets hope we can get everyone to sign up and join us.

Our site (s) area has boat access ( little piers ) kind of behind us and then a beach area on another side of us. Not sure how big the lake is, wouldn't want to swim across it, lol.

We are very close to the water at this location if that helps , info for Stanger5x0.

Welcome to the new faces, love to see new people accept the challenge and become part of our group. Last year when we first camped at Crystal Beach park we had over 50 actual campers. No one thought to keep track of the numbers of day visits. ( maybe this time , lol )

We will be posting directions to the park, too easy ,and prices for both day visits and trailer prices compared to tent prices as soon as the park confirms the required info.

The # of sleeps is starting to get down there, . I'm so looking forward to the games and the administering the hunt . Once again, the hunt will be challenging ( that means for the amigos and gem as well, ).

Not sure if the mass email went out, system says it did, but if anyone did get it, please let me know to confirm it was successful, thanks in advance.

Will be putting our heads together during this weekend at our spring fling, and the concencus for the details of the camping trip can be posted after that.

Thrilled to see Willie was keeping his eyes open and has decided to join us for another camping adventure.

The scavenger hunt should be a good one, we'll see if the amigos can defend their title.

See a few familiar faces signed up already, kudos. I'll be sending out the mass email fore this event probably by Sunday, so will be informing a lot of people who aren't watching the forums.

Looking forward to the shooter selection, as always,

KINGSTON / BELLEVILLE AREAS POF INVITES YOU TO JOIN OUR
“ ABC “ CAMPING WEEKEND IN MADOC

JUNE 19th, 20th and 21st

CRYSTAL BEACH RESORT
MADOC , ONTARIO
KOK 2KO

KINGSTON/BELLEVILLE AREA IS HOSTING .....BUT WE'RE ASKING EVERYONE TO JOIN US

COST $ 30.00 ( 15.00 per night ) for weekend camping, special group rate for POF

WHERE Crystal Beach Resort , Madoc , ( Hwy 62 & 7) . We will be posting directions, but it's quite easy to find.

This is the only weekend camping event that I will be able to hostess this summer,so please consider joining us for a great time away. With the help of friends this event will be as much fun as some of our past weekends. The theme for this outing is going to be "ABC", the only way to start things off.

We will be having the proverbial scavenger hunt ( Sal's favourite game, lol ) and I look forward to being able to challenge everyone with this year's list. There are other games and activities which we'll give more details of soon. This year's dinner theme will be ABC as well, see below for the menu listing

As per usual , if you are looking for a weekend away from it all with a very friendly bunch this is the time to join in with us. Every year we gain new regulars as they realize what fun we have each time. If you can't make it for the entire weekend, come visit for the day, or the afternoon, whatever works for your schedule. We look forward to seeing some of those faces again, and of course any new faces are more than welcome.

If you have any questions or concerns don't hesitate to post them or to email and ask. We'll answer asap and am sure that we can answer/resolve most issues. The list of items that we ask people to bring is quite easy. This park is into recycling, so we need clear garbage bags, and I'll be bringing a blue box or two to help with the process. We always need wood for the bonfire and chairs for you to sit around said bonfire. A dish for the potluck dinner on Saturday evening is also on your list. We usually pitch in for community breakfasts as well. We set up a tarped area in case the weather is not our best friend and of course you'll need a tent of some nature. Don't worry if you don't have the latest in camping equipment, we love to share, and ask if you really need something. As always we welcome any dogs to our group, they of course have to be well behaved and follow the park leash rules when appropriate.

The dinner item that you wish to bring for the potluck on Saturday night will be from the alphabet listed below. You choose the dish that goes with the letter that you've chosen. You can choose a letter that is already spoken for, each letter can have a choice for either an appetizer, a side dish, entree or even a dessert. Post your choice in the thread and we will try to modify this list to keep it up to date.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again, and know we'll all have a good time.

Just adding my .02 cents to the comments. Of course we had another great time. Thanks to everyone who joined us, from both near and far. We're trying to organize a group of us to volunteer with operation Red Nose on Friday December 12th, anyone who's interested let me know and I'll fill you in on the details.

Not sure if we're doing an informal get together for new years eve or not. Will have to see what the masses want.

Thrilled to see the new faces that joined us for this event, and hope that we've convinced you to join us again.

I add my name to the list of people who really enjoyed themselves. Gem, once again, you arranged a great time for all. There were some amazing costumes, and we all had a few laughs with friends.

It was great to see a few people we haven't seen in ages, and thanks to all who travelled to visit us. We really must go on mass to an Ottawa event soon.

Meanwhile, time to start thinking about the Christmas dance.

Don't believe that I ended up with a frying pan, but will check the boxes tonight. May have to ask if Paul ended up with it. I did end up with lawnchairs, so if any are missing message me about it.

We did have fun again, and some of the pics prove it.

Thanks for creating the post Paul. We have to ensure Larry is on the pic upload list as he has some he'd like to share.

We did have another great weekend away from it all. We barely got any rain, and we enjoyed the sunny times. Talk about amazing vestas, wait til you see some of the sunset pics from the beach.

We thank the new people who joined us for this event, and have realized what we mean by plenty of friends. Of course we missed some of our regulars, but look forward to seeing you all soon.

I once again send thanks out to My Country Boy for being the amazing glue that brings the weekends together so well. Speaking of glue, thanks again Willie for the glue to repair the coon damage.

Looking forward to seeing the pics as they get uploaded.

So glad to hear the regulars are joining us, and sad to hear a few of you who cant make it.
I have someone who's trying to reach the park to confirm if they can bring a motorhome to have a site with water and hydro, if anyone can get thru and confirm the availability of such a site we'd thank you very much.

Potluck dishes are still being listed, anything anyone can bring will be appreciated. Am sure we can count on paul for an up to date list of dishes.

Still will check as often as possible to be able to answer any questions thrown my way. It's going to be a great weekend even if we are missing a few of the regulars.

The people who are attending know that we're famous for being friendly and ensuring that everyone feels like one of the group. Always amusing to see what is going on with the 3 amigos, or should I say the 4 banditos. Watch out, the women are out for bear, lol

Welcome to the new faces who've signed up, you'll enjoy being part of our circle of friends.

I have a positive attitude about the weather for this trip. Of course we deserve a weekend without rain. (but bring the extra tarps just in case, )

If you're considering joining us, but are short a bit of camping gear, don't hesitate to ask on the forum ( or even thru an email to myself or My Country Boy ) as a lot of us have extra gear and don't mind sharing.

Still don't see a few regular faces, you know who you are, let's get signed up.

Who's in charge of the # of sleeps before the event camp? lol

I fiinally got the posting up in the right place ( which is why the first thread was deleted) and thank everyone for their patience.

Thrilled to see the number of signups already, we don't have much time till the actual weekend. Even so, we all know we're going to have another great camping event.

Sally, keep twisting your brother's arm, we'd love to have him join us.

We'll need lots of wood for the bonfire, and as mentioned a few warm blankies as it is getting cold during the nights already.

I'll try and send the mass email out tonight after work, so we can let everyone know what we're up to.

Meanwhile pass the word around, let's see if we can get as many sign ups as our last event.

We've finally arranged for our final camping event of the season. We're going back to Crystal Beach Resort in Madoc for the 26th, 27th and 28th of September.

Once again we have a great price of $30.00 for the entire weekend. We do not need to contact the park for individual reservations. Just show up at the park and ask for directions to the pof party area. We'd love you to sign up of course, so we have an idea about the numbers attending.

Our potluck dinner will be an early Thanksgiving, and we're cooking a big turkey. Please think about what dish you'd like to bring if you're there for the dinner on Saturday.

Our theme for the weekend is friends enjoying time with friends, and we'll see what events/games we will set up. Would love some input to see if we'd like another of our famous scavenger hunts.

I will be adding more info soon, so keep an eye out for any changes to this post.

We look forward to spending time with our regulars, the new faces from our last event and of course, even more importantly, the new members who've decided to join us this time.

The earlier mentioned exit from the 401 is the Hwy 38 exit , the exit # is 611. I always say when you see Home Depot on the left, you prob should be in the right turn lane to access Raxx parking lot. If you go under the tunnel at the train tracks you've just missed it.

Everything looks like Raax should be open again by the event date. It looks like we're going to have a great group of people for this dance. With Mary Lou as the hostess, we know she'll have some great things set up for us.

I'm looking forward to another great night on the dance floor.

Another great camping weekend was had by all. We saw more rain than we wanted to, and yet we still managed to have a great time.

I'd like to think that we also managed to hook a few more fishies into our crowd, and look forward to seeing them again soon. Hope the newbies enjoyed their time with us as much as we enjoyed welcoming them into the group.

We had the scavenger hunt that never ended, right Sal, lol. The final judging for this event is something a lot of us won't forget for a long time.
There was the never to be forgotten duct taping that started the huge and hilarious waterfight. Once again, the potluck dinner was an amazing spread, with way too many leftovers.

The pics will tell the stories,

I've added a few names to the "can upload pics" list, if you can't upload any, contact myself, or I believe that Lady Linx and MyCountryBoy can also add your names.

Keep an eye out for news on our next event , possible late September.

Start posting comments and pics, sugguestions and critiques etc.

A perfect football game, yeeee haww, and I actually ended up getting the time off , so made it down just in time. Of course , I'll be driving back in the a.m. so I can still make it to the event. It barely rained for the game, so I'm sure our weekend will have just as much luck.

I've given up on the biscuits, so will be scrambling for another dish. We can always use more salads, veggie plates and as mentioned earlier, fresh fruit is always nice, for those of you who haven't decided on a dish yet.

I've still got lots of side plates and cutlery, and will be bringing them.

One more sleep, and it won't be a long one if I'm to get everything ready in time.

Meanwhile, I'm on cloud nine, we kicked argo butt,

It's almost time, and I've so much to do still. Even with the list of tasks, I'm still so looking forward to this weekend.

This is going to be another great event, just look at the sign up sheet, and you can see that. Sorry you won't be able to join us bookkeepper and Wendy, but we'll have a toast for you.

Remember, we always need more wood for the bonfires. Can't wait to see everyone. It's still not too late to sign up, join us for a grand time.

Only 2 more sleeps, yeeee haww.

Welcome to papa bear, long time no see.

I've got my water gun ready for the ok corral scenario, and will check with my son to see if I can get any baseball gear. The park also has a set of horse shoe pits, we may find some time to try them out as well.

Still not sure on the biscuits,

Kissable is still looking for a ride, if you're from her area ( or going by it ) please help her out.

Time for me to get ready for work. Is it Friday yet, lol

Lets Not Think Rain Cowboys, and Cowgirls

Looks like homegirl will be the "go to" girl. Thanks for all the offers.
We do need some large pots for the corn. The # of tarps we need is dependant upon the weather ( please be nice oh great weather gods, )

We all hope that you can join us Gem, you add a special flare to all the events you attend. Cinders, hope that you'll be enjoying yourself.

Everyone else, time to start packing up all the gear, we're down to 4 sleeps.

My first attempt at cowboy biscuits was a sad affair. I'll try one more time before the weekend and will see if that batch does any better than the original one.

Time to take the plunge and sign up for another one of our infamous camping weekends and join in on all of the fun.
