What does BC have to offer?
Posted: 12/4/2006 6:29:01 PM
I moved here 3 years ago. The weather is one thing to consider. Forget about the last few weeks. It is not normal weather lately. Not sure where in Alberta you are. I live in White Rock. It is a beach community. I like living close to the water as I am from the East Coast. There are Palm trees and yes a lot of people, but not so bad. It depends on where you want to live, where your job is. Not a bad place. The summers are great. Not a lot of bugs. People don't even have screens on their windows. There are a lot of things to do here. Great concerts, golfing year round (not sure if you are into that) Depending where you are coming from it is busy here. I was a little shocked at the price of housing. Renting is OK, but to buy (wow). People are friendly for the most part. Good luck. I know it is a difficult decision. Sometimes the risk pays off.

And nuthafish thanks for the save and the dance. Can't wait for next time. It keeps getting better and better and also very interesting. And thanks to the two fishes that gave me a drive home.

March Hare at Sawbucks on Sept 9th
Posted: 9/8/2006 11:01:13 PM
I was at Sawbucks tonight for supper. March Hare started and announced that tomorrow night as part of the fund raiser whoever wants to pay $50. can get up on stage and sing with the band. (someone please keep me away from the wine) This could be funny. It is going to be really busy there tomorrow. I am going to go around 6:30 to try and save a few seats. Is there anyone who would like to join me? Let me know.

Scenario: If there was a fire in your home......
Posted: 8/31/2006 7:58:23 AM
It actually happened to me. Let me tell you once your family is out and safe you really don't think of anything else. Nothing is as important as family. We had one cat that we couldn't find when we left. The fire fighters we amazing. They went in imediately to find the cat. It didn't look good when they brought her out, but after 6 weeks at the vet she came home. It is a horrible experience and I hope no one has to experience it. My life was never the same after that. A lot of s**t happend in the next year.

quit smoking!!!
Posted: 8/29/2006 5:01:55 PM
It will be a year for me Oct. 1st. I was a hard core smoker for 35 years. I finally did it. YEAH!! I used the gum. It worked great. Just hang in there. The craving only last for 1 - 3 minutes. Just say NO. It gets easier. Good luck.

Chemisty and gratification
Posted: 7/28/2006 9:34:09 PM
I don't consider chemistry .. lust. I consider chemisty that ellusive 'spark' that makes one sit a little straighter and lean in a little more during the conversation.
It happens with some ~ it doesn't with others..

I'm with you on that. If it isn't there then that's cool. One can never have too many friends.

POF PARTY @ SHARK CLUB LANGLEY FRI 30th & SAT JULY 1st
Posted: 7/1/2006 8:39:38 AM
Hi Tony. Thanks for arranging the party. I had fun you bad boy. ha! Didn't get a dance with you, but maybe next time. It was good getting there early because you get to meet people as they come in which was good for me because it was only my second event. Does that mean I am no longer a newbie?

racoons are crazy
Posted: 6/14/2006 10:05:18 PM
I live on the second floor in downtown White Rock and had a racoon laying on my balcony the other night. I opened the window and took pictures. The flash didn't scare it away. Amazing. I then opened my patio door and it just looked at me and put his head back down as if to say F**k you stop bothering me. What a riot. Remember 2nd floor. Amazing.

This sounds like it would be a lot of fun. Is there anyone going from White Rock. I really don't want to take my car. I can get us a drive back if anyone is interested in taking the bus in. For those of us who are not familar with Van. is Main St. on this side or downtown.

don't just stand there...

I wonder how many fishes we have passed up because of shyness or fear of rejection. Think about it. If you are too shy and they are too shy then it doesn't happen and you both could have been what you were looking for.

When driving do you ............
Posted: 3/29/2006 6:04:09 PM
I always watch the other guy. There are some bad drivers out there. It must be spring (don't know) but I have a few close calls with some really stupid drivers lately. Everyone is in too much of a hurry around here. Lets all slow down a bit.

If you haven't even met yet, move on. I shudder to think what he might be like in a relationship. You are too young for that s**t. Trust is very important.

Normally I would wait unless I have had a couple glasses of wine. Amazing what alcohol does to your self esteem. Ha! Seriously though, it is very hard to do. There is always the chance of rejection and no one likes that.

do you bring flowers?
Posted: 3/22/2006 6:59:18 PM
I agree with you Roxie. I enjoy when a guy holds open the door of my car or helps me on with my coat, pulls out the chair. Little things. To me flowers are really personal. I would feel uncomfortable with a guy giving me flowers on our first meet. Another thing is when talking with someone they should look at you, not all around you. To me that is better than flowers. It means they are paying attention and are interested in what you have to say.

I wonder what the Don sprays on his hair to keep it in place. At the beginning of last nights show the wind was blowing so hard and his hair didn't budge. I think it's a combover. Get with the times Donald.

Half my age plus 7 would make him two years older than my son. A little weird. I have had the opportunity, but just can't bring myself to go for it. Too strange.

Hi. I live in White Rock. Having a hard time meeting friends. I moved here from Nova Scotia 2 years ago. It is difficult at this age to meet people. I am tired of going to work and coming home and sitting by myself. Would like to meet someone to go to a movie, dinner, bowling, golfing, dancing. I like the idea of POF get togethers. I paint houses for a living and love to get out of my painters whites and transform into a female. I am just getting used to using these forums. Computers annoy me sometimes. Is there anything going on tonight. I could use a night out.
