The last dance was great and it appeared that a wonderful time was had by all. I am working out the logistics of that weekend so that I will be able to attend this one as well.

Thanks Bita and Sneaks..... I could sit around all night and talk about how the bailout is sinking us and thoughts on what could have been done diferently.
But, alas, I was raised in a small mill town with parents of lower average income and so I didn't get the backing when I tried to run
Maybe 2012.... any backers...

Beliefs, and philosophies

OK... I believe enough with the trillion dollar bailouts....
I believe that if the government would issue $100,000 to every tax paying American over the age of 18, with the recipient as well as their mortgage company's name on the check. If your mortgage is over 100k then the banks would then be required to refinance the difference at the going rate.---- this would bail out the banks and would solve the foreclosure problems
The people that do not have a mortgage could pay off debt and have good down payments on homes. -----no more vacant homes dragging down property values and stop counties from raising property taxes to make up the difference.
The argument is that many people would just blow it or invest it.... well, either way it is an economy boost.
The money has been given back to the people that really need the bail out and the economy sees an almost instantaneous start to recovery. Then the government invokes smarter and more stringent rules on lending practices and regulates credit companies.
Why I believe something like this would never happen...... there's no hidden agenda or fluff.
I believe that we have to stop sending our jobs overseas!!!
I believe the health care industry should not be socialized, but that insurance companies should be regulated as far as rates and coverage.
I believe in the fair tax laws with refund credits given to the impoverished.
I believe that our immigration laws are lacking in ways that we aren't even aware of half of it.
Just my 2 cents.... ah, I feel better for getting all that out

"Left, Left, Left, Kick, Kick, Kick, Take a little Walk. To the Right, Right, Right."
How appropriate that is called the Cupid Shuffle
We could put all the men in a circle facing outward and the women could all walk around them while music plays and when the music stops the women stop and introduce themselves... kinda like a cake walk.

What should my friend do for her boyfriend
Posted:
3/31/2009 11:37:58 AM
When my sons father got back from being deployed after we first got married I surprised him with 30 envelopes, no specific order. In each envelope was one thing that I wanted to do/favor for him... anything from a massage, cooking, little trips and sexual favors...
Each morning he would open one envelope and I would plan the day according to what was written in the envelope.
It was something that we both looked forward to each day and he was amazed by the creativity of it.

OP... they may have looked at your profile but have it set that you don't see them when they look.
I know that I have my setting like that. I like to read profiles, but that doesn't mean that I want everyone knowing that I looked at them. They might get the wrong impression.

Thank you very much for your kind comments....
I have taken down the one picture that he was referring to and with good reason... I was about 30 heavier in the picture and it was in a turtle neck, so not very flattering.
So would agree that picture should not have been there.
Thanks again for everyone's input.

I have updated my profile, same writing style, different but truthful content.
My problem seems to be that I am only attracting men in their 50's. I seriously would like to find someone a little closer to my own age. Is there something in my profile that is attracting the wrong age group while scaring off the age group I seek.
All honest opinions appreciated.

Dating on POF
Posted:
3/26/2009 3:50:17 PM
Guys, here is just my opinion... for what it is worth...
No one wants to read a negative profile about how badly you were treated by some of the women on this site. Why would you do that to yourself and scare the well meaning women away?
I personally hate looking at profiles where all of the pictures of you are in front of your "prized" possessions. I want to see that you know how to communicate, not what you think you could offer me. Talk about trolling for gold diggers... no wonder you aren't meeting quality people. Same goes for some of the women on here that feel that they have to lower themselves to nothing but cleavage shots in order to get someone to notice them.
I rarely write to a man first, but when I do, it is a well written email that includes points I have found interesting in their profile.
If you email me first, I always respond, I will respond with the same quality as what I have received and nothing more. If I receive a well written email then you will receive one in response. Even if I am not interested, you will at least get: thank you for your interest, but no thanks.
Long winded I know, but my point is... you only get out what you put in.
Good luck all!

what do girls think about dating a guy with a kid?
Posted:
3/26/2009 8:42:00 AM
As a woman with two kids of her own, I actually prefer to date a man with kids. Whether he is the custodial parent or not doesn't matter. I like seeing what type of parent they are and how they talk about their children. It is very endearing.
I don't even consider the ex factor... that is one person that I don't have to deal with, that is his job, not mine and vise verse.
I have and will date men without children as well, but what I come across, even at this age, is that the men without kids are deciding that they want them. Unless they are willing to adopt, I am not going to be having anymore children.

Should foreplay be equal or mostly about her?
Posted:

Msg 24
Foreplay is much more than when the sun goes down.... wham, bam, lets hit the sheets mam.
For me it starts with a thought process.... I want to know and I want him to know that we are in each others thoughts... If I feel that he doesn't consider me during the day, then why should I consider him at night and vise verse?
Once we hit the sheets though, there is a lot of give and take, as it should be.
Three strokes lets go, just doesn't fulfill me or him.

Unique 'getting to know each other' date ideas
Posted:
3/15/2009 8:35:40 AM
Nightwing....
I really like going on dates that involve something a little competitive... bowling, darts, pool...etc...
If there is chemistry on my side I have no problem with a high five or a light squeeze on the arm... it is a great way to flirt and I can usually tell after the first round or so if the chemistry is reciprocated. You get plenty of communication and eye contact with these types of outings as well.
I like to keep the first few dates simple, but at the same time, something conducive to "G" rated touching so I can see if there is chemistry.

the big move?
Posted:
3/11/2009 6:09:27 AM
This is just my opinion....
Why move twice? 20 miles isn't that far and you would be uprooting your children to move now.
Lets also take into account the economy; if you are talking about buying and selling houses then it is just silly. If you are talking about moving from one apartment to another, not so bad. Moving is stressful and expensive, why would anyone in their right mind want to do it twice? I would stay where you are until the two of you are ready to move in together.
I know you say this is a lasting relationship, but it has only been 6 months. I think saying put will give you the extra time needed to be 1000% sure. I mean, wouldn't you feel really horrible for uprooting and possibly upsetting your kids if things didn't work out?

If it involves chocolate and fruit I am there, but add in peanut butter and something salty like chocolate covered potato chips or pretzels and now you have just put me in my "happy place".
I don't think the food is the aphrodisiac as much as the person you are sharing it with.

Leaving POF because all the men are fake
Posted:
3/10/2009 4:27:26 AM
OK.... I have a problem with the whole premise of this thread...
Anyone else tired of the word "FAKE", how about:
Ingenuous
Deceitful
Dishonest
etc....
Instead of posting threads like this, why aren't people working on their people skills and learning how to screen potential dates?
Better yet; why aren't people learning how to be happy with themselves before jumping into dating and then complaining...." why wasn't he/she into me"... Must be their problem.
STOP IT!!! Some people click and some people do not. Get over it, move on and stop the whining! Take a self empowerment class or something.
As Forest Gump would say: "That's all I have to say about that."

You know what is really sad????
You can pick out a players profile, especially when they say in it "not a player".
Now we have a gold star to pinpoint the players.
What is really sad???? I have been on dates with people that now have gold stars.
I am a serious dater and I would like to think that my profile is written with that intent, but this is a joke!
