Most men with young children that age are usually on their second or third marriage, so besides the fact that this was your first marriage, your situation is not that uncommon.
Finding the right person takes time, I don't think you're doing anything wrong.
Good luck and best wishes.

......but rather the fact that the driver of the vehicle (country) is inexperienced and shows it often.
We knew he did not have prior experience as a president when we voted for him.
I think your problem is that compared to every other president...this one looks different, talks different and is different. To you he is just not presidential enough, and you're having a difficult time trusting and accepting him!
Get over it and stop being such sore loosers!
Edit:
Yes, by apologizing and painting our country in the worst possible light.
You've not been paying attention....we're once again being admired as a nation.

Thanking them politely, respectfully, and briefly did not require his drawn out popularity play lasting several minutes.
In other words, he did not act presidential enough for you. (Sigh)....talk about being trifling...
Yet when you're accused of being 'haters' you claim it's his policies that you're against.....not him!

Fort Hood shooting - What are the questions? What are the answers?
Posted:

If this was not meant as an act to show his hatred of America and the War, Why did he drive back to Base and Kill those in the Military?
My guess is that he saw the military as the source of all his problems. He wanted out and they would not let him go, and was being harassed due to his religion.
The Orlando shooter went back to the office where he previously worked to commit his crimes, as many others have done including those incidences involving post office workers who went 'postal' back in the 80s.

So some people think he dropped the ball because he thanked the participants of the Native American conference that had just wrapped up, prior to commenting on the Ft. Hood shooting?
Talk about making a mountain out of a mole hill!

Not supporting issues of someone because of their race, color, religion, age and the list goes on does not make someone prejudice. It just says they have a different view that should be respected.
You've gotta be kidding!
If you (or anyone else) do not think that is what prejudice is about, you're sadly mistaken. That would also explain why you make some of the comments you do, then wonder why others think you're a racist.
Edit:
When one does not support the issues of someone and they just happen to be of different race, color, religion, age, economic background and the list goes on does not make someone prejudice.
Nice try! However, if you disagree with someone's politics, why bring their race, color, religion, age, economic backgroud into the conversation???

Apparently some of them did expect him to have fixed the mess the Republicans left us by now. No wonder they kept referring to him as 'The Messiah'!
Here's the video. Now explain how he dropped the ball.

Race Enters Atlanta Mayoral Vote

Yes, a lot of people wanted to make this mayoral race...all about race, but I submit this quote from the Wall Street Journal Article (Atlanta Poll Signals Racial Shift)...
Most striking in Ms. Norwood's numbers is her level of support among widely fractured African-American voters. An InsiderAdvantage poll on Oct. 16 showed Ms. Norwood leading all candidates among black voters, with nearly a third of African-Americans supporting her.

Obama Lifts Ban On US Entry For Those With HIV
Posted:

Actually HIV/AIDS screening became mandatory when the Immigration law banning those with HIV/AIDS from entering the country went into effect.
The screening is performed during the medical exam, which is a requirement for those (15 and older) seeking an immigrant visa.
I'm not aware of any medical screening requirement for a non-immigrant visa, however, I believe there is a question on the application requesting disclosure of HIV/AIDS status.

Looks like he's finishing up something started by the previous administration.
No, I always thought it was silly to ban HIV/AIDS infected people from coming to America, when HIV/AIDS infected Americans are free to travel all over the world.
That ban was implemented at a time when not much was known about how the disease was spread.

How is Pres. Obama throwing ACORN under the bus?
Aren't you guys the ones who are fabricating stories and making false claims about ACORN being a criminal enterprise?

President Obama Wins The Nobel Peace Prize!
Posted:

The peace prize was created partly to encourage ongoing peace efforts but Obama's efforts are at far earlier stages than past winners'. The Nobel committee acknowledged that they may not bear fruit at all.
With Pres. Obama at the helm, there is hope! Pres. Obama is organizing not just our American community, but the world community to consider diplomacy to settle our differences instead of threatening to nuke each other.
U.S. Republican Party Chairman Michael Steele contended that Obama won the prize as a result of his "star power" rather than meaningful accomplishments.
Oops..scratch that one. Just haters doing what they do best!
French President Nicolas Sarkozy, who has made no secret of his admiration for Obama, called the decision the embodiment of the "return of America into the hearts of the people of the world."
Yes we're a much loved nation, once again.
"I am both surprised and deeply humbled by the decision of the Nobel Committee," Obama said.
"Let me be clear, I do not view it as a recognition of my own accomplishments, but rather as an affirmation of American leadership on behalf of aspirations held by people in all nations."
Don't know 'bout the rest of you, but I'm feeling mighty proud to be an American and an Obama supporter today! Congrats Pres. Obama!

What is happening with ACORN?

Republicans accused of and arrested for voter registration fraud:
John McCain paid $175,000 of campaign money to a Republican operative accused of massive voter registration fraud in several states, it has emerged.
As the McCain camp attempts to tie Barack Obama to claims of registration irregularities by the activist group ACORN, campaign finance records detailing the payment to the firm of Nathan Sproul, investigated several times for fraud, threatens to derail that argument.
The documents show that a joint committee of the McCain-Palin campaign, the Republican National Committee and the California Republican Party, made the payment to Lincoln Strategy, of which Mr Sproul is the managing partner, for the purposes of “voter registration”.
Mr. Sproul has been investigated on numerous occasions for preventing Democrats from voting, destroying registration forms and leading efforts to get Ralph Nader on ballots to leach the Democratic vote.

Another instance....
SACRAMENTO -- The owner of a firm that the California Republican Party hired to register tens of thousands of voters this year was arrested in Ontario late last night on suspicion of voter registration fraud.
State and local investigators allege that Mark Jacoby fraudulently registered himself to vote at a childhood California address where he no longer lives so he would appear to meet the legal requirement that signature gatherers be eligible to vote in California.
Jacoby's arrest by state investigators and the Ontario Police Department comes after dozens of voters said they were duped into registering as Republicans by his firm, Young Political Majors, or YPM. The voters said YPM tricked them by saying they were signing a petition to toughen penalties against child molesters. The firm was paid $7 to $12 for every Californian it registered as a member of the GOP.

What is happening with ACORN?

“We thought it best at the time to protect the organization, as well as to get the funds back into the organization, to deal with it in-house,” said Maude Hurd, president of Acorn. “It was a judgment call at the time, and looking back, people can agree or disagree with it, but we did what we thought was right.”
The amount Dale Rathke embezzled, $948,607.50, was carried as a loan on the books of Citizens Consulting Inc., which provides bookkeeping, accounting and other financial management services to Acorn and many of its affiliated entities.
Wade Rathke said the organization had signed a restitution agreement with his brother in which his family agreed to repay the amount embezzled in exchange for confidentiality. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/09/us/09embezzle.html
Whether the sum is $1MM or $5MM, I think Dale Rathke should have been prosecuted, and I recall reading a while back that a couple of other ACORN employees ended up leaving the organization because of the decision not to prosecuted him.
Again, ACORN was ripped off and they should have had the guy prosecuted but did not.
Still, in my mind this does not make ACORN a criminal enterprise.
Speaking of prosecution…
In the wake of the UBS settlement with the United States government over bank secrecy and offshore tax evasion, some questions have been raised about whether former Senator Phil Gramm, the Texas Republican who is now a vice chairman at UBS, knew about the Swiss bank’s offshore activities and whether he blocked laws meant to prevent tax evasion.
Mr. Gramm has not been involved in the Internal Revenue Service’s tax investigation of UBS. Still, Mr. Gramm is a controversial figure in the economic debate right now, since it was under his leadership as chairman of the powerful Senate Banking Committee from 1995 to 2003 that a bevy of laws were passed that deregulated many parts of the banking sector.
http://dealbook.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/08/20/phil-gramm-and-the-ubs-tax-case/
Why is Phil Gramm (John McCain’s campaign Economic Advisor), who is an executive at UBS bank not being investigated regarding those 47,000 accounts of US tax evaders held at his bank?

That should have been Swiss Bank, UBS not USB.
This whole right wing investigation of ACORN makes me skeptical, because it's all partisan, and in my opinion has nothing to do with ethics. The right has attacked ACORN as a way of going after Pres. Obama and his agenda. Period!
In my opinion, ACORN has been victimized and has had their reputation tarnished by fraud and misconduct perpetrated by a few rogue employees. The media rarely mentions that ACORN has been the one to report and fire employees who have been accused of wrong doing, particularly the ones who were found to have fabricated voter registration cards.
The fact that Pres. Obama and the ACORN Chief Exec have come out supporting those who exposed the wrongdoers should say something. Yet there are posters here who continue to post fabricated/incorrect stories about ACORN being a criminal enterprise to which Pres. Obama is in some way tied.
I'm not buying any of this outrage, as anything other than complaints from sore losers.

Pulitzer for Investigative journalism...no. However, a Pulitzer for Drama may be in order.
Just maybe we could catch some of the other organizations, corporations and persons committing fraud with our country's money People are tired of hearing about our elected officials just letting federal fraud build up.
I’d agree with that. Can’t wait to find out about some of the 47,000 American accounts hidden at Swiss Bank, USB. The IRS gave their holders until October 15 to fess up about these accounts.
Maybe the right and Fox News can help to speed this along.
Hopefully ACORN will get their house in order soon, then continue with the good works they've been involved in for 40 years.

Yea they can just try to go bully some more corporations into contributing by threatening charges of "racism", which of course would make their stock drop..
Spoken like someone with an agenda. Take a look at some of ACORN's current campaigns:
Affordable Housing
Better Schools
Fair Housing
Fair Tax Fees
Foreclosures
Gulf Coast Recovery
Health Care
Immigration
Living Wage
Paid Sick Days
Predatory Lending
Utilities
Voter Engagement
http://www.acorn.org/index.php?id=12341
What gets me though, is the hypocrisy. First you have ACORN suing lending institutions demanding they make loans to minorities who can't qualify for them.
That comment has been repeated so many times by right wingers and it's simply not true. As someone who have worked with one of the major financial institutions dealing with ACORN Housing referrals, I can tell you they were among the best prepared homebuyers I'd dealt with. The financial institutions all lined up to do business with ACORN Housing, because it was good for community relations and kept them in compliance with the Feds.
Peace!

Take for instance factcheck.org. It was founded in 2003 and funded by the Annenberg foundation which also funded part of Obama's early career along with activities of his friend, [former?] terrorist Bill Ayers.
Ms. Annenberg supported McCain and she also served as a ‘chief of protocol’ at the State Dept. under President Reagan. So I guess that makes both her and McCain guilty by association.
On topic
At this point I’m do not believe there is widespread fraud being perpetrated by ACORN, but I do think they need to do some house cleaning, and do a better job of hiring and training their employees. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what the investigations reveal.
In the meantime, since they obtain most of their funding from their members and not the government, I hope ACORN Housing will continue it’s work preparing folks to buy homes and helping those who are losing their homes to keep them.

'Cause you guys on the right are scaring folks with talk of 'death panels' and 'socialist take over' of the health care system and free health care for illegal immigrants.
What's up with that?
Edit:
What is up with all these formerly proud people lining up for federal bailouts when their house get's too wet? Just wondering.
As another poster said, the right considers it a 'bailout' or 'hand out' when someone else is receiving it. Otherwise, it's a helping hand!

The floods of 2009 - as much as 20 inches of rain fell...
Posted:
9/24/2009 7:41:34 PM
in some parts of metro Atlanta according to this article in the CS Monitor. Hope all the GA fishies made out okay. After such a long drought were you prepared for this much rain in such a short time?
September 23, 2009
Atlanta - The reddish waters of the metro Atlanta flood continued to ebb Wednesday, leaving many Georgians knee-deep in mud and uncertain about their future.
Over the weekend and lasting into Tuesday, the floods struck a wide swathe of neighborhoods from rural Cherokee County to the northern suburb of Buckhead, taking ten lives and causing $250 million in damages.
Coming unexpectedly after a two-year regional drought that had residents more used to water restrictions than inundated interstates, many here now face a harsh reality: They didn't think their homes would flood, so they didn't bother to get flood insurance.
Some of those affected took a double-dunk: Their mortgages are already under water, which means they won't have any equity to borrow against to rebuild.
"I saw some potentially bankrupt families," Georgia Insurance Commissioner John Oxendine said after a helicopter tour Tuesday.
Around Atlanta, water could still be seen lapping at some rooftops, the result of nearly 20 inches of rain falling in 35 hours in the Georgia mountains. Many residents left homeless have few options.
"We don't know what to do," Jenny Roque, who lived in a mobile home park west of Atlanta with her husband and four children, told the Associated Press. "The only thing we have left is our truck."
Failure to anticipate
The number of uninsured victims, experts say, shows that even after a decade of major disasters, understanding and communicating risk remains a weak spot in America's preparedness.
Thirty percent of Americans who get hit by floodwaters live outside established 100-year flood zones, according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The 1993 Midwest floods and the 2006 flood in Washington, D.C., are other examples where many property owners failed to anticipate the flooding hazard.
"We're living in a world of great hydrologic and climate uncertainty. So the lesson here is that we can't necessarily count on what we saw in the past as the judgement of where storms are going to be in the future," says University of Maryland engineering professor Gerald Galloway, author of the 1994 Galloway Report on flood insurance and a current White House adviser.
In Atlanta, explosive growth in the past 50 years means that residential and industrial development may have contributed to flooding in areas that historically have stayed dry.
Signs of faulty risk assessment could be found even after the flood – at the most personal level. A 46-year-old Tennessee man was still missing two days after he took a $5 bet that he could swim across a swollen ditch next to his house. Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue (R) warned residents Monday not to go out on roadways after emergency officials found themselves rescuing risk-takers.
Improving disaster preparedness
Still, there have been some efforts to upgrade preparedness nationally. Some experts are pushing FEMA to offer federal flood insurance for 500-year storms instead of 100-year storms (that is, storms that are likely to happen once in 500 years as opposed to a 100 years). A growing number of communities such as Charlotte, N.C., have begun in-depth flood mapping that takes into account development patterns in order to give a more accurate picture of what a flood might look like.
And in Atlanta, plans to build a series of reservoirs to alleviate future droughts could also help to control future floods
But a heavy responsibility also falls on property owners who need to better "visualize" possible disasters, says Mr. Galloway. "I think people are beginning to say, 'We cannot go on like this, having people caught unawares.' "
My condolences to the families that lost loved ones.

If ACORN had been this up and up organization with NO or maybe one mark on their record since their conception, there just might be more to the filmmakers being out of bounds. These filmmaker's were looking into an organization that already had huge red flags which everyone seemed to be ignoring.
This is not an organization…there are a group of organizations that fall under the ACORN umbrella. ACORN Housing is one of them. They’ve been around since the 1970s advocating for the poor in areas such as minimum wage increase and bringing the issue of predatory lending to the forefront.
It’s obvious that ACORN has some ‘house cleaning’ to do, however, I’m sure that if these filmmakers had targeted any other businesses or non-profits, they would have found red flags and irregularities as well.
ACORN's history has been screaming for Full Investigation long before this.
Not true….only since the right decided to investigate Obama’s ‘affiliations’ during the elections has ACORN come under such scrutiny. This is just another desperate attempt by the right to go after Pres. Obama and his agenda.
It's about time ACORN is investigated and by an Independent auditor chosen by the government not the organization.
That’s a strange comment considering that the one thing I constantly hear from the right is how much they hate ‘big government’ intervention.

More about ACORN Housing and how they do what they do...
ACORN Housing provides one-on-one mortgage loan counseling, first-time homebuyer classes, and helps clients obtain affordable mortgages through our unique lending partnerships.
We look at your savings and credit history to see if you qualify for a mortgage. We can help you with credit problems and to create a downpayment savings plan.
When you qualify, we can help arrange a mortgage with lower interest rates, lower down payments and lower settlement costs than what banks usually offer.

ACORN utilized their Community Organizing tactics to intimidate banks and mortgage companies to lend to "the mis-fortunate" who would not have qualified for mortgages otherwise as they did not have the ability to repay the loans.
Yeah right....like banks and mortgage companies need to be intimidated when they see the potential to make huge profits.

Our mission - to make the American dream of home ownership available to everyone who wants it and to keep people in the homes they already have - has not changed. We are proud of the work we do. The numbers back us up. In the last 18 months, we have helped over 50,000 families in danger of losing their homes to foreclosure, with over 80% of those having low and moderate incomes. Since we started in 1986, we've assisted over 110,000 families to get mortgages and buy their first homes. We've provided mortgage counseling to at least 350,000 families. We have provided foreclosure prevention counseling to at least 50,000 people. Thats the ACORN Housing story.

My boyfriend just ended our relationship of one year.
It may not seem like it, but honestly he did you both a favor. You two were not a match!
Good luck!

Caster Semenya's gender is more complex??? WHAT??

Monday, September 14, 2009
South African runner Caster Semenya, who is at the center of a gender row, has been placed on suicide watch amid fears for her mental stability.
The Daily Star quoted officials as saying that psychologists are caring the 18-year-old round-the- clock after it was claimed tests had proved she was a hermaphrodite.
Leaked details of the probe by the International Association of Athletics Federations showed the 800m starlet had male and female sex organs - but no womb.
From Medindia.net
Sad turn of events. The investigation was handled poorly in my opinon, making this seem like a freak show.

Kanye West; He's a Jackass

Should Obama be entering his opinion into celebrity events of this nature?
Sure...why not! He was asked his opinion about what Kanye did during what is normally an 'off the record' period prior to his 'real' interview with that reporter.
Should there be concern that Obama seems to have over-stated his opinion rather recklessly on numerous occasions, most recently before this involving a law-officer and a professor?
Hmm...reckless not even close.
Besides, I do not think any of his comments compare to these made by former presidents....
The incident is reminiscent of past "open-mic" incidents involving politicians. President Ronald Reagan, while waiting to make a speech in 1984, joked that he had outlawed the Soviet Union and that "the bombing begins in five minutes." During the 2000 presidential campaign, George W. Bush turned to running mate****Cheney to point out a reporter from The New York Times and used an obscenity to describe him.
Does anyone feel that Kanye was NOT behaving in untoward manner?
Kanye is a jackass for doing what he did at that awards show!

I am focusing on pursuing other ventures out their and closing this chapter and learning from this experience.
Good for you!
I think it's always best to acknowledge your mistakes, learn from them and move on like you're doing.
Also, if the only jobs out there are at the burger joint or Panera, do not be too proud to take any of those jobs while you work on your other plans.
Best wishes for the future!

She 'lost it' no doubt because of the pressure, but also because she disagreed with the foot fault call. Definitely unsportsmanlike conduct, but hey I heard that John McEnroe is one of her heroes!

Lacking tip for my friend / server
Posted:

I’m one of those who always have cash ready to cover the tip and I generally offer to pay the tip when someone else is picking up the tab. Had I been in your situation I would have gone back and added more to what he left, especially since the server was someone you knew.
He didn’t sound like a jerk since you did not mention that he was demanding or rude to the server…just not a great tipper.
The bragging may have been an attempt to impress you. No big deal since you said you both had a nice dinner with a lot of laughter. But I'm with you in that I too prefer someone who is sophisticated enough to know how much to tip.

RM I wished he had not commented as I knew that whatever he said would have been blown out of proportion, but there was nothing racist about what he said!
Sorry you hate him so much...you're gonna have a tough 3 1/2 years ahead.

I believe what the President said was that he thought the officer acted stupidly for arresting someone in his own home, when the person had already provided ID to show that they were in their home.
Before he made the comments, he also said that he was friends with Gates so he may be a bit biased.
I saw nothing racist about his response!

Hehe...I think in the coming months and years you're going to have many more of these moments...where things you thought and heard from 'the right' are not what you were led to believe.
I don't know where my email sender got his information.
Lesson learned....Google is your friend...double check the information and keep an open mind!
I'll know better than to listen to this guy again.
Rebel, I'm so proud of you

Gates vs Officer Crowley: What do you think?

RM:
No one is claiming that he's a "liar".
I think you kinda did when you decided to accept everything that the officer said as the truth.
RM:
His history does show that he bears a lot of "resentment" of the "white authority structure", and has been heard to use black racist rhetoric. I doubt that he remembers clearly every word he said, while upset. The words he used were heard by others.
There you go again....no sources cited.
Edit:
RM:
So, hang him,...
No need to hang him for doing what he was trained to do. However, he could have used a little common sense also. I mean, when he arrived Gates was apparently on the phone with the property management people trying to get them to come over and fix the door...not rummaging through the house as one would expect a burglar to be doing. I also find it troubling that he asked Gates to step outside without first explaining that he was there because of a reported break in. Seems like he assumed that Gates was the burglar, and I would have been mad too if that had happend to me.
RM:
...because for some, if a white man and a black man have a confrontation, the white man is ALWAYS wrong.
Likewise to some if a black man and a white man have a confrontation....the black man is always wrong!

Gates vs Officer Crowley: What do you think?

RM:
I think most rational people would think that breaking into a house, and initially refusing to produce ID, followed by following the police outside and yelling racial epithets at the officers is sufficient probable cause for the "suspicion" of a "disorderly conduct" charge.
Sorry, but to my rational mind, that version of the story makes no sense.
RM:
Of course, we can never know, for 100% certain, what they said. On one hand, you have a police officer with an unblemished history, and was selected as a training officer for his overall sensitivity to diversity. On the other hand, you have a woman who was freaked out, because she got some hate mail and phone calls for having called in a complaint, and wanted to appear to have not been involved.
Let's not forget Gates, the other party in this little scenario..here's a bit about him:
Professor Gates earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in English Literature from Clare College at the University of Cambridge. He received a B.A. in English Language and Literature, summa cum laude, from Yale University in 1973. Before joining the faculty of Harvard in 1991, he taught at Yale, Cornell and Duke Universities. Professor Gates has received nearly 50 honorary degrees, as well as a 1981 MacArthur Foundation "Genius Award," the 1993 George Polk Award for Social Commentary, the Chicago Tribune Heartland Award in 1994, and the Golden Plate Achievement Award in 1995. In addition, Professor Gates was named one of Time magazine's "25 Most Influential Americans" in 1997, one of Ebony magazine's "100 Most Influential Black Americans" in 2005, received a National Humanities Medal in 1998, and in 1999 was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Letters. In 2006, he was inducted into the Sons of the American Revolution after tracing his lineage back to John Redman, a Free Negro who fought in the Revolutionary War.
RM:
Who has the motive to lie?
Selective memory perhaps....but you never know why people may lie about something like this.
RM:
And what in Sargeant Crowley's background supports the notion that he would go around violating someone's rights "for no good reason"?
Likewise...what in Prof. Gates background supports the notion that he is a liar and a lawbreaker.

Nevertheless, he has made several public statements where he has referred to Caucasians using the term "whitey".
Hmmm.....I've never heard that, but assuming what you say is true, I do wonder what his wife and colleagues thought when they heard him.
Since there was apparently no uproar, perhaps it was used as a term of endearment, the way the 'n' word is used as a term of endearment in some circles?!
In any event, I'd love to see a source posted...if you don't mind.

Barack Obama faces 30 death threats a day,
Posted:

You are probably right about people fearing him. However the vast majority that do not like him, fear him or think Obama is a LOUSY leader want to just wait him out. Most DO NOT want to see such a lousy president end up an icon when he shouldn't.
A 400% increase in death threats is pretty significant.
Not sure if the majority of people who fear/hate/oppose him really care what happens to him. After only 7 months, it's just way too soon to judge him as a lousy President, although I realize that some expected him to have 'fixed ' all that is wrong with this country by now.

Gates vs Officer Crowley: What do you think?

According 2 officers of the law(not including Crowley) and several neighborhood wttnesses this was not what Gates was saying or asking when he came out his door way.
Gates was saying (ACTUALLY YELLING ) "This is what happens to black men in America", among other slurs to Crowley and the officers outside.
Well, the truth is somewhere in the middle….between what the officers reported and what Gates said happened to him.
Yelling alone should not be grounds for arrest and I have heard no reports of Gates using any racial slurs. What he admitted doing is ‘playing the race card’ because he felt that had he been white, this incident would not have played out as it did.
Also he said he was not read his rights before being arrested and taken into custody. Again his biggest mistake seem to have been following the officer outside his home. At the time he did not know they could not have arrested him inside his home without a warrant.
Edit:
This was such a petty, trivial incident, that resolved itself quickly.
It may have seemed trivial to you, but not to others. Prof. Gates is well known all over, and this was a huge story.
My guess is that like Officer Crowley, you had never heard of Gates prior to this incident?
Quite simply, Gates is a "whitey" hating, angry, black racist, who made a mountain out of a molehill with the sensationalist media.
Hmm…..again it sounds like you do not know Gates…and by the way his wife is white.
Then it really took off when the President made it an issue with no knowledge of the actual facts.
It was already an issue before the President was asked to comment.
Obama on Gates arrest.

If a leader unduly fears his own people then something is very wrong.
I doubt very much that President Obama fears his own people, however from what I've gatherd there is a segment of the population that fear him. That would be my guess as to why he's receiving so many death threats.

....Gates wan't arrested 'in' his house...he was arrested 'outside' of his house.
Correct...and apparently this is where Gates went wrong...stepping outside his home while insisting that the officer tell him his name and badge #. From what I've learned Crowley could not have arrested him in his home without a warrant.
Anyway here is an excerpt from an article by Elizabeth Gates (Prof. Gates daughter) where she talks about the meeting between their family and the Crowley family at the White House 'Beer Summit'.
As soon as my father’s foot crossed the threshold of the room, the storm of mediators immediately rushed to introduce us, but true to form, my father cut right through the thick tension of hurried salutations and offered the Sergeant his hand and joked, “You looked bigger the last time I saw you.” Crowley’s cheeks flushed red as a smile dashed across his lips, and his young son, whose cheeks had long since flushed the same muted crimson, looked up at his father and smiled. This wasn’t a family raised on hate. At that moment, right there in the library, they were just like us: a young family groomed to perfection, waiting to learn how to get those damn cameramen off their lawn and to put this sensationalized hell behind them.

First of all from everything I've read so far, I'm 60% convinced that racism was involved in this pool incident. Is 60% enough to crucify the pool director?
Crucify...no! Humiliated for his stupidity..yes!
Plus....big deal if he is a racist....I think he should be able to keep his job after being humiliated since he did apologize!
I'm not characterizing Jack as a racist, so no comment on that!
