How to ask someone out?
Posted: 12/30/2008 5:57:58 PM
Just ask. Get some balls and do it. Simple.
If she says no, then she says no and life carries on.

If you take forever about it the time will pass anyway and you wont get a chance.

Lack of information in profession slot
Posted: 5/16/2008 5:31:44 PM
To the OP:-
People tend to place a great deal of significance upon what a person does for a living.
The perfect example is that profession is placed near the top of the profile page.
The general answer is obvious:
Professional = money+ success + clean living etc
Burger flipper = pathetic + stupid
Unemployed = The 8th deadly sin. (as if there is anyone who has never been unemployed)
Society makes us define each other by our social status (money) rather than whether we are actually happy, fun, nice people and enjoying life. It doesn't matter where you have been, what you have done, how you treat people, how you have lived. All that matters, to a lot of people, is profession.

Personally, anyone who asks me what I do for a living before they know anything else about me is just not worth talking to.

Seeking... Basic, very basic guitar instruction material, any suggestions?
Posted: 4/19/2008 5:44:09 PM
Complete Learn to Play Guitar.

They start at the very basics and work gradually through to more advanced stuff and cover everything in quite a lot of detail.

They vary also, as in learn to play:- lead, rhythm, fingerpicking, rock, acoustic, classical etc.

You can find them out there on music book web sites.

Saxophone Players
Posted: 4/19/2008 5:37:16 PM
There's not enough saxophonists if you ask me.

It would be great if anyone can recommend any really good blues music/players for the sax?

Im really trying to find some inspiration as im a fairly new sax player.
I really love the sort of sounds that you get on a BB.King track or some of the pink floyd stuff.
Im trying to find some really low down, miserable, powerful, heavy blues sax to inspire me.
People like Milles Davis etc are obvious examples of great sax players but im not too keen on the jazz sound.

Oh, and Frank Zappa tunes always have some great sax now and again.

acdc...the rock band
Posted: 3/25/2008 5:05:41 PM
Apparently AC/DC are in the process of making a new album. How long that will take is anyones guess.

You know it is gonna rock. Some people didn't like the last album but I thought it was great and a little different to the usual stuff and a lot of people didn't like Flick of the Switch but it one of the best albums. Hopefully it will be good.

But,

Brians voice is old and tired. The man is a legend but if anyone has watched some of the post 2000 live stuff then they will know that he was struggling. This is 7 years later so I just hope he can keep up the screaming.

AC/DC live is something not to missed. I just hope they come through on top form to salute us all.

Attention Geniuses: Focus your energy
Posted: 10/4/2007 6:06:26 PM
Shit.

Shit is packed full of energy. All hot and steamy and so on. It does have a lot of energy but our body doesn't need it.

If it was compacted and then burnt in the right way it should be a good fuel maybe.

But what do we do with it? Flush it away.

Are there any musicians or songwriters out there that can relate to this?

All the best songs are about heartbreak, heartache etc.

Some of the best music ever has come from people who cant live without someone or have been shitted on or just miss someone and so on.

Do men like to be seduced?
Posted: 7/5/2007 7:44:21 PM
I love to be seduced.

It is very a very rare occurence though as women tend to be the ones that men have to approach.
Unfortunetly the only time i've ever had girls trying to seduce me is when they are completely wasted and have no idea what they are doing and will end up regretting it.

Humans determining other life forms conciousness limitations?
Posted: 7/5/2007 7:16:28 PM
I think what makes humans different from other species is the potential to act completley different from one another.

Other animals tend to have a defined pattern of behaviour based on the particular species of the animal.

Humans all have the potential to live different lives and go in different ways from one another. Each human is very different, although in many ways people do act as sheep in certain scenarios or certain social groups.

It is not technology that makes us "better" but biology.
Humans are almost too aware of themselves and perhaps Douglas Adams was right about the Dolphins.

Humans do pretty gross things to each other as well. At least animals are only aware of the pain and not the stupidity.

being alone
Posted: 7/2/2007 6:35:49 PM
My advice is don't ask them too many questions. Such as, why do you like being alone? Why have you not had a girl for so long? Don't you like me? This sort of thing.

I think men (and women) in this postion have been hurt in the past and don't want someone to really get to konw them incase they get hurt. I think a lot of people don't want to fall in love with the wrong person and therefore close themselves off to everyone. I fell in love with the wrong person once and it was the worst thing i've ever been through in my life. I'd rather be alone than go through that shit again. Maybe these 2 men that you,ve known are the same.

Men would rather be the first to make contact?
Posted: 7/2/2007 6:05:54 PM
Just depends on the person.
Some men like to chase, some women like to chase. Sometimes it can change and the person who originally was being chased becomes the person who starts chasing.

What signs do u guys give if ye like a girl buddy??
Posted: 5/28/2007 6:35:20 PM
If the guy likes you but is a freind then he may not give you any signs. He might just always be there for you if you need something or are having problems etc. He might really like you but feel too scared to show it through fear of rejection.

Im good freinds with a girl that I really like but I never show it cos if she rejected me then I couldn't deal with it. The best thing to do is just be honest and him how he feels about you, if he is your friend then he will still be friends with and not make you feel like you've done something wrong for doing so.

Confidence
Posted: 5/22/2007 5:14:10 PM
Confidence cannot be bought or earned or created. Confidence comes from doing things that others cannot or from pushing yourself further you think you can go or from coping with hardship and so on. Basically confidence comes from knowing that you have dealt with worse or done harder.

As for the "her loss not mine" approach, it just depends, but it is best not to worry about all that stuff.

Rick Rubin: Can He Make Metallica Good Again?
Posted: 4/11/2007 5:53:52 PM
All a producer will do is get the best sound out of someone. They simply polish what is already there and make it shine. A good producer will make the shine last. But you can't polish a piece of crap.

Ac Dc had Rick Rubin for Ballbreaker, I love Ac dc but this album was crap.

You can't rely on a producer. A producer does not make the instruments play.

Seriously, the once can be considered a very bad mistake. The worse mistake a boyfriend/husband can ever make.
Anymore than that and it will never stop.
I very recently split up with my best mate because of the way he treated his girlfriend. There really is no excuse. It is bullying, plain and simple.

Best way to show I love her without scaring her off?
Posted: 4/7/2007 3:39:14 PM
I've been seeing this girl for a while and I've fallen for her but we have never gone beyond holding hands etc. Anyway, that doesn't bother me because there is never any point rushing anything. I want to show her how much I love her without just saying it but I am scared that I will frighten her off. She got out of a difficult relationship a couple of months ago. I am worried that if I don't act soon she will get fed up of me but that whatever I do is gonna be the wrong thing. I've tried talking to her but it came out all wrong because of nerves. I think she is incredible and im always happy when im with her. I know she likes me but I don't know how she really feels about me/us.

I've thought about giving her some flowers out of the blue but is this a good idea? What should I say in the note with them, if anything at all? Are flowers a good idea. What am I gonna do if I do that and then she gets put off and starts ignoring me.

Any suggestions for yet another helpless fool in love?

Should a Great Band Carry On

which is the best rock album ever.

Is Rock and Roll dead?
Posted: 1/24/2007 5:26:33 PM
Rock and Roll ain't gonna die!! (ac dc)

New bands like wolfmother are appearing and doing what groups were doing many years ago. The great thing about rock is that it is always changing and there isn't much of a formula to it. Pink Floyd are considered one of the greatest rock groups ever but I wouldn't call their music rock. To me it is just music.

Is rock and roll dead?? Depends what you call "rock and roll".

IS it me or should HIP HOP be DEAD YET?
Posted: 5/26/2006 4:59:00 AM
I think the problem is that the majority of hip hop does not progress.

50 cent is doing what Schoolly D and BDP did nearly 20 years ago. Except with worse and really uninspiring beats that plod on slowly and make you fall asleep. The majority of hip hop acts used to get a lot of attention because before 1990 there were only a handful to choose from and therefore groups such as Public Enemy could get a lot more air and video time than they do now.

Now there are so many acts out there that only a select few can be heard and the majority of these people do not keep hip hop new and provocative. The only popular hip hop act to push the boundaries is probably Outkast.

Hip Hop is NOT all about money, clothes and hoes. However, sex does sell.

Rock music is NOT all about love and passion. However, sex does sell.
There are many shit pop rock groups that have been and gone that have sold millions of albums.

Rap is not afraid of you.

Then again, most music forms change and dissapear over time.
Ragtime,
Blues,
Doowop,
Rock and Roll (no more roll in rock)
Electro,
Disco,
Funk,
Psycedelic folk rock blues.
Blue Suede Shoes.

P.S Ghostface new album Fishscale

F... all to do with with hoes etc. It's about soul, feeling, passion, life, tradgedy etc.

It is art just like any other music.

Art is both complex and simple.

Hip Hop is not one thing.

Money, clothes and hoes hip hop is not even about money, clothes and hoes. Look further.

All that energy put into screaming could be put into doing the rep.

I wish they would just shut up.

Nothing wrong with grunting a bit, but screaming is just plain annoying.
