why do people stay on POF after meeting someone?
Posted: 2/5/2009 9:39:02 AM
I met someone on POF while ago too. We started dating. Undiscussed she deleted her profile, undiscussed I deleted my profile; however, we did discuss after the fact. I am in a 12-step program for the "relationship challenged", maybe most guys should be enrolled - lol. First step is recognizing relationships are important and that you are helplessly, hopelessly, clueless; second step is searching POF forums for deep answers to unanswerable questions. The Forum has all the relationship answers to all the relationship questions. Unfortunately, it takes considerable effort to determine the correct course from among the mass of postings applicable to your particular circumstance. Can't post on the forums if you are not registered so I have a hidden profile that clear states my intentions on POF. Not every coupled man is seeking a by-catch on POF. Serious.

How do you keep going on dates keeping a possitive attitude?

Consider dating as the journey not the goal. Mr. Perfect-For-You is certainly out and about; remain optimistic and positive in attitude. Your dating should be fun. Screen the men and date plans and if they are not fun or some aspect seems wrong seek clarification or kick 'em to the curb. Date with a clear head and open observant eyes until you have enough date time with a person to loose your heart. All easier said than done. - R

Is it wrong to settle temporarily, knowing it likely won't last

I won't stay in a relationship if it can't progress to a happy, healthy LTR but maybe your goals are different than mine. In a way, you are not being fair to yourself or your current partner. You and your current SO are unavailable to your much sought yet unknown Soul Mates while you remain a couple in a relationship bound for nowhere. You could bump into M. Perfect-For-You but MPFY will not initiate any action as you are involved with another person. Of course, your current situation is perfectly acceptable, ethical, moral, and non-fattening between consenting adults. Well, maybe it is not non-fattening depending on your joint culinary talents! - R

You call this Dating?

Ahhh, Pizza Hut charged him for the extra cheese...enough to make any man wig out especially on a tight dating budget. OMG, I just realized that the OP inadvertantly funded his next date/victim by paying the bill! Well, he'll learn from the encounter to either not order any extras or to ask mom for another $1.50! All you women want those extras that break a man; cheese, pepperoni, sausage, even veggie sometimes and when will it all end!-lol
