I don't even think that constitutes a relationship - folks could basically tell you anything when they're hiding behind a computer screen...
I agree, but I've met many very good friends over the Internet, who have translated ino real physical friendships in real life! The friendships were forged and committed to, on the Net in all cases. I was as surprised as could be, but it does work. They call me Rufus of course, which is not my real name, but I now answer to it! I should change my name by deed poll!

punk and oi! bands old and new
Posted:

Punk hit me hard when I was 15. Stormed my part of surburbia, but it seemed I was the only one who it transformed. Seems like history nowadays but at the time it was revolutionary. Set me free, made me me, never been the same since. Oi was late, Punk was over by then.
Then you find out where it originates. Iggy and the Stooges, as has been mentioned, especially Fun House. New York Dolls, Bowie was an influence, but ultimately the VU.

Your profile is very confusing to me... I'm not going to review it... Try one of the others who have a thread...
Sorry Pun-Kin, it would take more than a cursory glance I guess? Some assessment
If the others offering this service are as superficial then I'll not bother thanks.

Relationship Sex, Physical or Emotional?
Posted:
1/6/2006 5:59:16 PM
Makes perfect sense to me. Sex is an emotionally uplifting bonding experience for me. Commit to me, take it away and you are screwing with my core being. I see the act of sexual union as almost mystical. Orgasm or not!

Can a person be 0% responsible for 100% of their failed relationships?

This woman of yours needs urgent help. She is desperately unhappy with own self, its not you. Suggest counselling. If she freaks at the suggestion then you'll know I'm right!
If after a few days cooling off she comes back to the idea then she is close to admitting it to herslf and you may have a slim chance of changing the situation. Otherwise, run...as fast as you can! See if you can catch me up on the way !

How many of you would read your lovers private e-mail ?

Trust is something we give people until they show that they are not worthy of our trust
Just about sums it up for me.
However, It's what happens after the trust is broken that is the problem. My last relationship broke down after I 'apparently' broke that trust, which I did not do intentionally. Its matters not what I actually did, it is the 'truth' that formed in her head that really mattered, the truth, or rather the actual truth was neither here nor there. The only truth that really mattered in the end was that truth formed as a series of mental images in her head, of my misdemeanours! Nothing I could say or do had the power change that; not evidence, nor witness accounts, nothing.
I really did nothing more than form a too close personal relationship with another woman who she could not properly monitor. She had no control over me. But nothing really happened anyway, and nothing ever would have! Result was a collection in her head, of fragments of truth augmented with her own fabrications. Over time this compound narrative of my supposed exploits resulted in the utter destruction of a perfectly functional and happy family. I could not stop it happening.
In the end I began to believe that her version of events was the actual truth. Her story was repeated so often that it began too replace mine in my head! I realised that I had no option but ask her forgiveness for something I had not done!!
I had folded!
If only she had read my diary or my text messages at the time. We'd still be together now.
I wish she had snooped on me....

why do many women expect men to make the first move?
Posted:
1/5/2006 3:03:59 AM
I don't think that is true at all Livewire, well certainly not in my case. I want a women who is sexually open but still committed 100% to the relationship. Seems many women can't do this easily. Dead sex = dead relationship, I think.

I actually think that women nearly always make the first move, but it is so subtle, you blink and the moment is gone. Its an eye thing, like subliminal messaging, a split second of contact.

Do you want someone reading your diary?
Well if you don't burn it on New Years Eve then I suppose yes, eventually! Why else would anyone write down their thoughts and feelings if not for an audience? Being a diarist means practising a literary form of sorts, surely? Imagine the horror of being the devoted spouse who discovers the lies post-mortem!

Depends what is at stake, surely?
Anyone here ever been in the position where the messages a partner sends to others might contain crucial information that if got to early enough might allow some measure of damage limitation? When the home, the business, the car, the kids and the dog are at stake, and every word that issues from her pretty lips is a lie, then you'll look into anything, and with good cause. Men stand to lose badly. Women in England trust that the law will rob husbands of everything for them.
At the height of my troubles I was instructed by my advisors to keep a comprehensive diary. Things were so bad, and so much crap was flying my way, that I wrote 17,000 words over two months! I made copies, lodged them with trusted friends, and then let her find my diary....
Two days later I found my troubles easing!
Split was 'amicable' and financially 'reasonable'.

Question for the Men re: Flirting
Posted:
1/3/2006 10:04:43 AM
At first the signs of attraction are obvious, the girl twirls her hair, meets your eyes for longer than usual and looks flushed in your presence. Next thing that is going to happen is she is going to touch you. If she don't you have no chance, if you don't touch her back within one minute you've lost her. Women make all the moves that matter, in my experience. Men just have to know how to decipher them and respond instantly.
Did you touch him yet Webgrrl?

SINGLES VENUES IN LONDON
Posted:
12/31/2005 6:30:16 AM
Bar Soho on a Saturday night! Old Compton Street. You can't miss the continuous street party. The whole road packed solid with people having a good time. Good restaurants and very cheap if you know where to go! Everything you could want is in that street. IMHO don't bother with anywhere else. The place that Londoners go to rave is Soho. The rest is suburban visitors, except Brick Lane for a curry.
You want something more relaxed and laid back then go to Angel Islington and look around. You need somewhere with a few sofas to smooch on with your date then there's a pub I know!
London is great but you can waste your precious time.

One of the greatest difficulties I have with POF is the lack of the aformentioned facilities. I know they can be terribly abused but strict moderation weeds out the miscreants, who are always in my experience best got rid of anyhow. At least give it a trial in the 'Over 30's'. Surely we would be mature enough to use such facilities properly. As it stands, seems we're always restricted to talking in a linear fashion. Hardly conversation is it?

I think some women like utter b'stards but can't handle the reality of that after the fact, because a real male b'stard is rare but when they are they are that for life. Irreversible. I tried being just that once and to my surprise the gels loved it....but I hated myself! So I stopped being a cad and lost my shirt! I now think women want a pure man, a dirty b'stard, a hard man and a soft man in the one skin. I think I want the same in females. If it was easy I'd be bored senseless, in all honesty. Women can be as difficult as possible but I was hooked from birth! They just look so delicious...
