Thanks Fishtrawler! I saved your suggestion on Word and will do further research.

I'm cautious , so my first utmost concern is safety while traveling abroad. I guess I will need to do further research and contact two acquaintances from Ireland (they are friends of a good friend of mine).

I will be there in the late fall early winter so pitching a tent is not an option for me..... I will stay at local accommodations and hire a car and/or take bus to and forth to places.

Ignore the Don't Sh*t where you eat advice?
Posted: 4/23/2009 7:24:54 PM

Also, never ever under any circumstance date someone (even in another department) that in any ways has any direct correlation to your paycheck -- as in accounting or controller's office. I've heard a nasty stories of a backhanded shit an accountant in a controller's office did to an ex-BF that worked in the same company.

Ouch! That IS malicious. I hope that individual had recourse. But NOT all accountants/controllers are that petty.

I totally agree with Brown Eyed - I dont want my accomplishment tarnished by speculations that I slept my way to the top, nor do I want the gossip mongers' whispers buzz about me.

Funny pick up lines

Crap. Something is wrong with my cell phone. {Oh Really. What is that?} Its just that...your numbers not in it.

Do you believe in love at first sight, or should I walk by again?

If you were a booger I would pick you first.

My three favorites! The last one was disgusting but it is funny!

3 chores you dislike doing as a single person
Posted: 4/22/2009 9:18:32 PM
1) dusting
2) dusting
3) dusting

I know its the same thing just repeated three times... its for maximum effect. I so loathe dusting. I will wash dishes, scrub the tiolet, change car tires, change the oil in the car... just please dont make me dust!!

Head or Heart?

Go with head! pardon the expression...

Do both think with your head and feel with your heart. One should not conquer over the other - find balance.

She's a friend but I want more...
Posted: 4/22/2009 7:40:34 PM
Hi Doug

Ok here we go... hold on tight....
Either:

1) Tell her how you feel and be prepared for the consequences. And I mean ALL the consequences not just the good. Consequences can range from 'mild discomfort' to full out 'she ends the friendship and you will be seeking a new place .'

2) Deal with the huge knot in your gut and hope that it subsides.

Personally, I vote for number one. If things goes pear shape - keep this in mind:

If she is truly your friend; she will be kind and work together in re-establishing the friendship. But once she has establish that she doesnt view you romantically then YOU have to decide if you can move on from there....

Without blowing sunshine up my own bottom - I've lost plenty of male friendships because they couldnt deal. Then you really find out who in the long run is truly your friend...

Good Luck!

How long did it take you to stop looking at profiles/message ppl and just go forums?
Posted: 4/22/2009 7:22:11 PM
The night I signed up - I received several sexually explicit Instant Messages (this is before it was an upgrade). Long story short - I was totally disgusted and didnt bother with signing on until two days ago because I kept getting emails that I was being added to someone's fav but I havent spoken to them before.

That night after havent been on for months, it took me 5 minutes to head to the forums. I actually prefer the forum.

Cheers!

Confused...
Posted: 4/22/2009 4:30:46 PM
Hi NYLadyinFL

The majority of the advice by the men here are spot on.... it has only been 2 days and the fact that you guys have opposite schedules - chill.

If you havent left him numerous texts/emails/VM during this time - I say give him a call. Be brief. Let him know that you had a wonderful time and that you would like to see him again - and if you feel ballsy - ask him out.

If you dont hear from him. Let it go and move on.

Let us know how things turn out!

ps I know you are asking guys for advice ... but lets us just say that I have worked in a male dominant job before and well -- you kind of pick up a thing here and there.

Hmmmm its 5pm and I havent eaten lunch...... you would think that the amount of weird combo foods I would be turned off!

Here is my contribution to the thread:

kernel corn with vanilla ice cream

I dont think this is weird at all... avocado, shaved ice, milk, and a dash of condensed milk to sweeten (or sugar) - BLEND!!

Thanks Benevolent Being... I do want to see Ireland and the people. I dont do the touristy thing very well as I find that quite prohibiting. You see only what the 'tours' allows you to see, I want to see the good and the bad.... I just dont want to be part of the statistics.

Instant Messaging is still available HOWEVER you are now required to purchase that privilege.

You take a "serious member test" - and "if" you pass, you have an option to purchase a year, 6 months or 3 months of membership.

Wow This thread is seriously making me re-think my backpacking trip to Ireland.

I'm an Asian American and wonder how safe it will be if I do a backpacking trip to Ireland alone.

Arugula salad

Try my favorite it is simple but I love the taste.... the lemon balances the peppery taste of the arugula.

Fresh arugula
shaved Parmesan cheese

dressing:

Thyme, lemon and olive oil (blender)

Enjoy!

Ireland?
Posted: 4/20/2009 2:02:46 PM
Desykek,

I havent been to Ireland. I have wondered about that as I am filipina too and was planning on checking the more rural part of Ireland. It is more than likely that I will be traveling alone.

I have visited London and the surrounding 'burbs' and didnt find any negativity so to speak. Everyone was friendly and helpful when I needed directions or assistance.

Has anyone answered your question? I am curious as well.

Thanks,

Chatting
Posted: 4/20/2009 1:34:03 PM
Hello from Chicago!

I enjoy chatting online but it is virtually nonexistent on this dating site so I rarely come to POF. I think everyone is too focused on finding 'THE One' or at least a date that others looking for a chat are dismissed.

I am actually looking for this version of 'Love is Pleasing' from the BallyK series. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kf9m9y2iIPk&feature=related). I know I know 10+ years too late - but I loved series 1,2, and 3. I could barely get into 4.. so I stopped.

If you like to chat... give me a holler. No, I dont 'shop around the corner' so to speak. I heard that term in a movie recently.... lol
