I need a GREAT Tuna Macaroni Salad recipe? Any GREAT ones out there?
Posted: 11/14/2008 1:20:05 PM
A good rule of thumb about macaroni salad of any type... is : lighten up on the macaroni. the veggies should be equal in volume the macaroni. I personally like to use fake crab instead of canned tuna. It isn't expensive, and is firmer...won't shread so badly.
You need to use some dillweed ...dried is ok... but be stingy with it...it can easily over-power the dish.
Cook your macaroni in liberally salted water...add a clove of garlic to the pot. You can also use wide egg noodles for this... never cook the pasta to death... as it has a tendency to get soggy...not good for a salad
And, as for veggies... a small amount of shredded carrots.. lots of sweet and dill pickles .. red and yellow bell peppers...celery... garlic (very finely minced)... olives.. onion.. and all should be chopped roughly...it you like...throw in some chive
Mayo shouldn't be used... Miracle Whip is much better for this dish.. altho don't start off dumping alot of dressing in... a little at a time...most macaroni salad is way over dressed... and this dish doesn't need alot of it.
Lastly... chunk up the fake crab meat and add it last... ... this dish needs to set in the fridge for a couple of hours to merry the flavors... you will need to season with salt and pepper
While this isn't a a diet dish...it isn't all thad bad...and tastes great

When should a woman tell her potential lover of her fetish?
Posted: 11/14/2008 12:32:30 PM
I once had a lover who absolutely refused to discuss anything sexual... usually saying that it was nasty or dirty to talk about it. But during sex...she was very explict in her wants. I don't know the difference. I find it arrousing to discuss sexual preferences

The founder of scientology...L. Ron Hubbard, did so on a bet..... He's not even a good writer... why all the hoopla over a lot of hooey. I think expounding on patently false issues is inane..
I have an interest in the study of sciences ( which is what scientology means ). But to espouse it as anything else is an affront to science.

lemon meringue question
Posted: 1/16/2007 9:50:20 AM
one cause is... not letting the filling completely cool...Elton Brown of the Food channel did a show about lemon pies.... and told how to prevent that problem...but I honestly can't remember all that he said.... it may be on the net under food channel....?
I did away with the problem by just putting the meringue in the filling... a lemon chiffon instead of meringue... it tastes great.... lasts longer in the fridge.... altho' that is not a problem at my house...lol

Does anyone have a clean limerick to share...lol
I only know one:
There once was a man in Nantucket'
Who kept his money in a bucket.
His daughter Nan, ran away with some man,
And as for the bucket...Nan tuck it.....

I noticed something I had never seen before...There were the usual group of attorney's gathered outside the courthouse, waiting for the court to convene.... What got to me was the all those lawyers...had their hands in their "own" pockets......

fishing...where do I bait up?
Posted: 1/15/2007 1:16:16 PM
Hello all.
Intro's are hard for me. Tho' I appear imposing..ie: 6'-6".. and heavy built.... I am basically shy. On a person to person situation, I am ok....but in a new crowd, I tend to be, maybe not a wallflower, but not quite outgoing either.
It is funny to me that I am this way... I was a foreman and supervisor for a earth-moving company for many yrs, and had to deal with both public and professional people on a daily basis. I also played guitar in several bands, and neither of those seemed to bother me... so why should I be shy in a social gathering......
I am reasonably well educated...( A BS in engineering, and >35 years in the industry.) Although my writing lacks flavor at times... lol ..I mean come on... I AM an engineer.. not an English wordsmith... smile.
I have been divorced since 89,...my gawd!...that's longer than I was married. I guess it is true that time flies when you are having fun. I haven't honestly tried to find someone to share my life with. I don't know why, I am not a player, nor a womanizer. To tell you the truth, I am scared of all those STD's out there... I have lived 60 years without any, and I would like to go for another 60....
I seem to have an easy time chatting on the internet.. I suppose it is because we are all strangers here..... And I have met several "Strange" ones... (wink)... But then, I guess we all can say that... I have met some very nice women on here to.... But it seems that the women I might find interesting enough to eventually meet with....all live somewhere in an other galaxy far away.
I am a life-long reader...hate TV...love going to the movie theather's ( but mostly for the hot buttered popcorn)... love dogs...hate cats... I like to waken early, have my coffee and crossword puzzle, watch the world come alive each morning... and see all the folks heading off to save the world... as I once did..... I never-ever argue..... I don't like inane chatter. I don't care to hear about someone's 2nd cousin ( or is that twice removed ) who has a bowel problem.... I don't want to raise another child...especially an adult one..... I love my two grown sons...and the grandkids when they visit... and love them more when the leave. If I marry... it will be to a woman without a dependent family. I am not an old crab...nor a hermit.... but do like quit times.
Iknow I sound hard-hearted.... but I am not. I have had family life...both good and bad..and I want to have a chance to live a good life with a good woman........ without drama.
I have blathered along here long enough...............

math puzzle
Posted: 1/4/2007 1:42:10 PM
Using arithmetic progression...... divide 100 loaves of bread among 5 people.... in such a way that the first 2 people get one seventh of what the last 3 get........

Example:
The first person gets 10 loaves...the second get 10 plus 10 more..(making 20....right?) The third would ge 20...plus 10 more...and so on till the bread is all given out.... this is not the right amounts...lol

I work on this quite a while
It is not easy....

Hint: The first two people together... get 12 and a half loaves of bread.

I found that decimal fractions aren't the answer....... ???? or at least the answer I have.
If you are interested in my answer... E-mail me at.......

Favorite Dog Breed?
Posted: 12/12/2006 11:01:54 AM
Without a doubt .... to me the best two breeds of dogs are the Labrador, and the Golden Retriever.
I had had several Lab's in my life, and 2 Gold Ret. They are the most trust-worthy, intelligent animals I have ever known... They are great inside as well as outside dogs. They love small children...even babies. I have never used their talents as bird-hunting dogs, but they are great at that too... And tho' they are not mean they do make good watch dogs, and will protect the family.......

Full figured to BBW

Let me see....How do I start...
>> I am 60 yrs. old... 6'-6" tall...and weight 360lbs..... I would guess that would qualify me as BIG...
I really think most men are missing their manners here... I probably have in my past said something about a woman's weight.... but for the life of me, you men are discussing these women in a public forum, as if they were a piece of livestock ...jeesh! All these keywords you you are using...lol..... Chubby.... over-sized.... large...bbw... heafty... .. You all know you are meaning FAT....
Why make it an issue, if it needs to be dicussed.... do it in private.... I am fat...I live with it... But if someone makes the mistake of being rude to me in public.... well... he will see alot better when the swelling in his eye goes down....
I just don't understand people I guess....sorry to get on a rant...

Is it possible to fall in love with someone you never met?

If indeed this person is as you think he is...then I will say Yes go for it.... But everyone in the world puts on a front to make themselves look better... And the only way to be sure is to get a cold hard look with your eyes open...I don't really believe you can fall for someone you have never met, because that person doesn't exist in the real world, he or she is only in your mind......

Dating Someone On Welfare **
Posted: 5/27/2006 10:01:40 AM
I worked for most of 40 yrs. as a non-union heavy equipment operator. And after all those yrs. of abuse, my back I finally stopped me from working, and I had to go on Soc.Sec disability...
I won't give out the amount I draw on SSD, but I made quite a lot of money during my life-time, and I make more that most people do on disability.
My problem is that I dislike saying anything about my financial situation. I also hate not saying anything about it... Any relationship I might find could not last if I lied about anything like that.. Although, I get along quite well my income, I certainly can't support anyone else on it... And I don't want anyone thinking they might have to support me either..
The point I'm trying to get across is: Be honest to the person you are interested in, tell them you are not able to bring any financial support into a relationship... You don't have to go into details, but let them know how it is and if they don't like it, they can walk away before anyone gets hurt. I have written to a few women on Pof, and most were understanding and thanked me for telling them up front.. One woman replied and told me she wasn't interested in me cause she wanted a " Sugar Daddy " ...sic........ But at least she was as honest as I was........

A plan for 700 miles of Mexican border wall heads for Senate
Posted: 2/26/2006 10:17:18 AM
Walls are not going to keep people out of, or in, anyplace.... Secure prisons are not escape proof... as we see almost weekly in news reports. The Soviets couldn't keep people from escaping... and they shot many trying to leave... China's great wall didn't even slow the invaders that poured into their country.
There are now a lot of aliens infiltrating in from Canada... Do we build a fence there too? Where does it end? And what about our unguarded coastlines. What is the cost of these security issues? Are we really prepared to anger all of the world by giving up our "friendly neighbor" policy?
I completely agree there is a problem, so, how do we fix it?.. Over crowding is bad enough now, unchecked it is going to break the economy. We can't feed the world... We can't allow our borders to be overran.... So what is the answer?. Is there an answer?

Abortions soon to become illegal again
Posted: 2/26/2006 9:43:22 AM
I believe some if not all of the states in the"Bible Belt" will enact similar bills... and I don't believe the Supeme court will hear any cases to overturn them.... Right or wrong... abortion is not the "Business" of the Federal Government...
Abortion is a sometime heart-breaking issue; and the women having an abortion should be the only ones with the final say so.. not some group of wild-eyed fanatic's with a bomb..Or a government agency that has no clue....

Abortions soon to become illegal again
Posted: 2/26/2006 9:17:02 AM
I think you have this wrong..... The US Surpreme Court erred in Row vs. Wade... It is now becoming a State issue.... Each individual state has the right to say if abortions are right or wrong for it's citizen's, not the Federal Government... The Row vs Wade case would be over turned if taken to court now..... It is a matter of states right's.... not Federal intervention..
