Taking a Trip Down Memory Lane
Posted: 11/19/2009 7:17:58 PM
Recycling is a good idea ...I could take up surfing again...and surf 12th st. Del Mar wearing a top made from caps and board shorts from the umbrella material....dropping the ex's love letters from a hot air balloon over his house. The wedding dress was donated to salvation army where I'm sure it came in handy at halloween.
Ice cold tequila shots, eating a burrito while waiting for the green flash....

Taking a Trip Down Memory Lane

I'm pathetic....I held onto my wedding dress for 19 yrs from my 4 month marriage.
I still have the love letters from my high school bf, ekg and stuffed toys from my last dog.
I would like to know why I collect baseball caps...when I don't even wear them or the fact that I have at least a dozen umbrellas and live in sunny san diego.
Clearly there is a glitch in my cranium.

Nicest or favorite vacation place in the US
Posted: 10/19/2009 10:26:48 PM
The coast of maine in the fall, bryce national park after it snows,
havasupi indian reservation... backpacking down the trail can be a little brutal and hiking back up is beyond painful,
savannah georgia...I could live there. Olympia rain forest along the coast of washington. Lake Tahoe I love the winter skiing at Heavenly, Mt. Rose and all the hiking and mtn bike trails, I can't get enough of coopertown.
Living here in san diego has some pretty nice places...

Best ways to keep fit in the colder months
Posted: 10/19/2009 10:50:47 AM
We don't have much of a winter here....but I do like to go to the mountains and hike in the snow and picnic. Sometimes snowcamp. Snowboard, ski, ice skating are things I like to do but don't do often enough. My home gym consists of a total gym, stationary bike, inversion board, 75cm exercise ball. I also have lots of yoga, pilates etc videos to break the routine. I don't run but the mask is a great suggestion.

Vitamins making me sick...????
Posted: 10/19/2009 10:32:26 AM
Suppliments are just that ....they are to be taken with food ...to suppliment.
Your food intake does not sound healthy 1 meal a day and 2 liquid meals...how are you to gain weight and stay healthy when you don't give your body real food?
If your serious about being a health nut then you should take some nutrition classes and learn proper preparation of your food for optimal nutrition/energy.

It's not unusual for vitamins to hurt the stomach without food in it. Also if you have niacin in your mix it would give you the sever burning in your stomach. If this is to continue you may want to see a doctor to determine you don't have leaky gut syndrome from the irritation on your stomach/colon. Calcium/mag/vit D3 are usually taken together for max absorption. Another way to strengthen your bones are to eat high calcium foods, walking, jump rope and low weight heal strikes helps.

Safety of Professional Tanning on skin?
Posted: 10/19/2009 10:08:58 AM
I would nix the blast of electricity you surround yourself with....these are still damaging rays even tho they say they are much safer.

If you want to get a beautiful fake looking tan then get a professional spray on sugar tan. The salon may have a package discount. There are also quality products that are sold at top salons that will not give you the orange blotchy color.

One thing you may want to do is start going yearly to a dermatologist for a skin cancer check and start on a good skincare program (facials) etc.
It's either you pay now for good skincare or pay later to repair the damage.

is it acceptable to hide certain things?
Posted: 10/18/2009 11:55:22 AM
It would bother me it the guy told me he was 35 and he was actually 17.
If he said he was a computer consultant and his job reguirement was to say "would you like fries with that?"
That he just got out of a long term relationship only to find out that his def. of LTR was his last sexcapade the night before of 4 hrs.

I think the "truth" would be the best policy and then there is the "need to know basis." Someone asking when my last relationship was, how many brothers/sisters I have etc. is different than someone asking how much money I make etc.
I also agree with deborah815 if someone is going to lie about their age what else would they lie about?

Women what do you use to attract?
Posted: 9/13/2009 3:58:35 AM
I had a nice profile read...that was much more detailed and informative about myself and lots of pictures...then I went nuts and put a surly profile together and deleted most of my favorites and all of my mail. When I finally calmed down I then just put a short profile with 2 pictures and lots of requirements.

I seem to attract very young guys or the talk/e-mail men. There is nothing wrong with that...if that is what you want. I do get a fair amount of mail but I would have to say alot of mail comes from me being on the forums. Most men I date are outside of POF and have nothing to do with this dating site.

At this age being giddy because someone has contacted me just doesn't happen...I don't use the dating tips or try to reel someone in showing T&A. Most times I go straight to the forums and bypass my mail...I'll read the profile before the mail so I get a sense of what the person is like. One thing that I'm guilty of is reading and not returning a reply ....I think I will later and then forget because I was in a hurry etc. so I have had men send me a second note...and I thought "oh, sh*t I forgot about him" it's a good thing I never had kids they would still be waiting at school for me to pick them up.

how long do you date before you're exclusive?
Posted: 9/12/2009 5:24:58 PM
I think it would depend on the person....I could date a guy and if we had such a strong connection I could become exclusive immediately. Whilst another person I could date for the rest of my life and never feel the need or desire to be exclusive.

Engagement ring Help!
Posted: 8/14/2009 8:32:24 PM
I would ask her what she would want...after all she is the one who is going to be wearing the ring. The both of you should shop for it together...that would be the engagement ring and then maybe matching wedding bands. If she wants diamonds later on you could renew vows and have a diamond ring at that time. I know for myself I had a ring made with cameos surrounding the band and then another band for everyday wear. ciao, val

I don't know it doesn't sound like either girl would be getting a prize here.
I'm reading this thinking you have the "grass is greener"....
Out of town booty call....FWB ..."whatever"...
Wanting to "get rid of current person"

It doesn't sound like you believe her when she says she doesn't normally give out
her number.

If your willing to "get rid of current person" then do her a favor and cut the cord and don't look back. Quit playing the yoyo game.

Who knows what will happen with your 3 hr time traveling romance....maybe your stars will be aligned or misaligned...or karma may play a part in this scenario.

WHAT IS THE RIGHT APPROACH?
Posted: 8/5/2009 2:21:47 PM
Seriously....you just joined POF what 2 weeks ago...patients grasshopper ...
I know as a woman ( I use that term loosly) ok, girl...that when I see a picture with arms growing out of someones neck...I think what other apendages are growing out of weird places. Not having current pictures doesn't fly...poor excuse...since most computers have a camera...take your own dang pictures and upload...
Height is not another viable excuse....you may want to take yourself on over to profile review...
Some of the things that catch my eye (and I look at the profile before reading message) is wit, humor, a list of interests.
And Body-Pro...I find the "wanna f**k?" t-shirt and cleavage works best. :)

Lack of protein???
Posted: 7/31/2009 1:55:14 PM
I'm thinking that taking a break from working out for 2 wks would have the impact of weakness on your chest muscles; along with the combination of lack of sleep and work.
Lets address the chest muscles there are a few simple things you can do. I would do some massage between the ribs of the chest to help alleviate the tightness...a good way to do this would be to roll a towel lengthwise place it on the floor, matt, bed...and lay your spine on top of it...this will bring your shoulders back and help open the chest...massage the chest starting at the sternum and follow outward. Follow with some deep diaphramic breathing, deep breath in, pushing the belly out and lift thru the chest. Exhale slowly. This will help to open and stretch the chest area.
Tryglycerides are related to your sugar intake. Eating foods that convert to sugar slowly would help. You can find a glycemic index in alot of nutritional books. Sugar also attributes to pain. Sugar irritates nerve endings and causes you to feel pain more intense.
Dehydration also contributes to cramping, muscle constriction... drinking more may help. In hot weather I like it with a pinch of sea salt and a squeeze of lime.
Fresh fruits, veg., whole grains and lean meat as others have said helps.
I would take a more natural approach to the acid reflux and take digestive enzymes they can be found at health food stores. Also not eating at least 3 hrs before bed ...so you will have time for your stomach to empty.
Since complex carbs turns to sugar quickly I would not have them at dinner but earlier in the day. As sugar irritates nerve endings/causes pain. It may contribute to the intesity of the acid reflux pain.

Good luck I hope some of this info helps.

OK, what is it you want ?
Posted: 7/23/2009 11:05:53 AM
I know for me I like to see some form of wit, creativity that would make me smile. To mention something that we may have in common/interest is also nice.
I will usually go thru the persons profile and then read their posts...to find out more about them...I have had men that I thought would be a good match when I read their profile before I read the note and ...in the initial e-mail there was some crap about wanting to be initmate etc. telling me what a great kisser they are ...oh, please...eck.
For me I prefer to answer all e-mails ...I just feel if someone took the time to write to me I should at least respond....

Brain surgery- getting my body back!!!
Posted: 7/21/2009 2:03:46 PM
It might behove you to find yourself a trainer/therapist that specializes or teaches functional fitness and kinesiology to regain the balance and strength in your right side. Doing exercises and cardio are all good but you don't want to be overdeveloping the left side of your body and those muscles doing all the work. If that happens your left side could weigh significantly more than the right side thus altering the way you walk and move.
If you can't find a therapist/trainer that teaches functional fitness one of the next best things would be to do exercises in a pool where you would be able to use full range of motion of your right arm/shoulder and resistence exercises w/o putting unnecessary stress on the rest of the body. You may also want to look into the arthritus foundation for pool classes...they are geared more for passive joint mobility.
One other thing that might help on your recovery would be to see a naturopathic doctor to find a detox that would work on the cellular level to clear your body of toxins. I hope this info helps. Good luck.

Gosh....hasn't anyone ever had an orange julious? They had the raw eggs in them and I loved them...so now I have a smoothie with a raw egg.
I find eating a raw egg in my smoothie is easier to digest than eating cooked eggs.

I need a tan! How long should I be in the sun to get a tan, but not get burned?
Posted: 7/19/2009 3:29:03 AM
Geesh...forget laying out in the sun....you should be out there so you have sufficient vitamin D 10min first thing in the morning.
Why not go out and get a sugar spray tan...they look great and they can add some definition to the abs, calves etc. and help blend your farmers tan.
If you are determined to bake your skin and cause early free radical damage to your skin ...then at least use a good sunsreen with full spectrum uva/uvb coverage.
Just remember what damage you do to your skin now may show up years from now as skin cancer.

Omega 3 and skin?
Posted: 7/19/2009 3:18:07 AM
Our skin is the largest organ of the body and a reflection of what is going on inside of us. Omega 3 is good for the skin and joints to help eliminate the popping and clicking that some people have within joint capsules.
If you are looking for something to help with the skin Emu oil is great as a topical.
Spirulina is another good source for the skin and helps with free radical damage.

Trying to get HEALTHY anyone got any pointers....
Posted: 7/19/2009 3:02:00 AM
As mentioned above ^^^^...any thing that ends in "ose" get rid of ...fructose, sucrose..etc. Do a major clearing of your refrig, cupboards of items that would trigger you to eat more. Such as I no longer have chips etc in the house. I know if there is a bag I will it the whole thing in one sitting.
Eating a healthy balanced meal with adaquate protein will help to balance the blood sugar and offset cravings. Limiting your amount of complex carbs and any other items that are high on the glycemic index. Proper hydration, rest and exercise. I don't believe in denying ourselves of what our body craves. If you crave chocolate then you may want to drink a chocolate protein drink, making better food choices.
If you have to have complex carbs then you should have them at your lunchtime meal since our bodies metabolism is at it's most functioning at that time of the day.
One thing also is that you may have some food allergies wheat, gluton etc and that could be a culprit for holding weight in the bodies and also genetics play a part.

Which medical person is best...
Posted: 7/19/2009 2:45:10 AM
While standing for long periods of time the disc pressure is relatively low given that your body is in a more balance state...so weight is more or less equally balanced over the muscles, trendons, joints, ligaments.
When sitting the abdominal "corset" relaxes thus causing the majority of body weight to overload the disks. While initially you won't feel any pain...but over the long term of the constant presssure on the disks can result in pinch nerves, degenerative osteoarthritic problems and other problems.
Generally many people may experience back problems while standing and for long periods of time and feel better when they sit down. So it's is difficult to understand that sitting will put undo pressure on the vetebral disks.
It then becomes apparent that while in a sitting position that we practice ergonomics...thus using lumbar supports that would support the vetebral disks and not exaggerate the normal lordosis of the spine. A chair with arm rests, proper height so feet can rest comfortably on the floor and knees are slightly apart as to prevent slumping. I t also becomes important that we maintain a toned abdominal core. Muscles support bones and with a toned core it gives us the strength to maintain proper spinal alignment.

Maybe you should ask yourself "what do you get when dating 'down" and what comples you to give all of yourself to a non caring person.
I would say that maybe you shouldn't date anyone who can't treat you better than you treat yourself.

I do feel sad regarding MJ he was an entertainer that will be remembered for a long time. I remember his first music videos and everyone in the clubs dressed/danced (tried) like him. I can only imagine how his body must have hurt....I've broken my foot a few years ago and even still it hurts when out dancing.
