Thanks for the reply danish...
This time in 48 hours I will be over the Pacific heading for San Jose.
Just like to thank the 2 of you that happened to reply to this. WOW. Does nobody live in San Jose, or know anything about it?
hmmmm... Anyway, it will soon be too late, and will be exploring the sites for myself.

Best places in San Jose / San Francisco ?
Posted:

I am moving to San Jose
WTF. Did you read what I wrote. I probably could have used another word, or phrase like "Good places to eat ?"
But really, I am moving from Australia to the US (San Jose), and was after some help on good places to shop, and or eat, etc etc... That is recommendations from real people as apposed to reading false reviews on other sites.
I don't care if anyone thinks they are subjective, but if someone says, "Joe's has great food at great prices" than maybe I should look at it further. But as it stands at the moment, I have never been to San Fran or San Jose before, and I am moving there for work.
So rather than say
not to sound harsh or that I'm belittling your topic
why don't you tell me some good places to shop and or eat in and around San Jose.
hmmmm

What do you ladies mean by Activity Partner ?
I am looking for friends to hang out and do things with, so I am a little concerned by Activity Partner. I am not after 1 nighters etc...
So your thoughts please... Does this mean, walks, hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, snow skiing etc etc...

All,
I know age should not matter, the point that this started out at is probably more on the line of self confidence as I was married more than 10 years and have not dated for i guess 15 years. So thus I am looking for friends, and if something happens great. But, the self confidence thing is more to the point, as I guess I would ask, there so many guys on here who are similar age, so why would a 31 year old lady be interested in me.
And again, yes - put my big pants on and email, and I did, and the mail was READ DELETED and I am guessing that this is not public domain, that no one will want to meet up with me.
But really, I agree, if you don't ask you will not find out ?
All my previous relationships in he past 25 years, the biggest age gap I experienced was only 4 years.

So where should I go the make friends...
Posted:
5/15/2009 4:47:10 AM
Hello all,
So when I arrive in USA where is the best place to make friends...
This question is best directed at the ladies, as I am not after pickup joints, I am just wanting to make friends, and if something happens down the track well that would be great, if not well at least I will have made a lot of friends.
I know one thing, we are not alive for a long time, so might as well share the time that we have with each other than to sit around on our own...

It's not a matter of big boy pants or any thing else, it was the fact more so that I was married for 14 years, and have not really dated since prior to then, and all my ex'es were roughly the same age as myself.
So, I think why would a nice 31 year old lady want to talk with a 42 year old guy (regardless of who they were) ?
Anyway the result was.... READ DELETED.
No reply.... Oh well...

Plain and simple, saw a profile of a lady who is 31, however I am 42.
I am not a player, and her profile did interest me, but feel what's the point as I feel that she would not reply.

In other words, good place to make friends, YES / NO ?

ROFL.
If you are referring to fishing as in picking up women, then I am not after that, just want to find some nice friends, hang out, have lunch, walk & talk...
I would however be worried if guys wanted to be my friends, that could just be weird.

Funny you should ask that don~
I have worked with many American's being in the IT industry, in fact, have worked with people from all over the globe. Everyone who I have worked with are just like us, friendly, happy, and go out of their way to help.
However, over the years I have travelled a lot around Australia and bumped into my fair share of Americans, and have had a number of encounters with American tourist. And sorry to say, as American tourist, you guys are rude, angry, and grumpy. Not sure why the difference between day to day and travel. I am sure this does not reflect on you all.
So, I hope nobody takes this the wrong way, again, I have worked with and meet some great people. Just wondering what the whole working in America thing will bring me.
So fingers crossed...

Well, thanks for that great respone sweetest_lady,
I have actually been compiling a list of things I want to do.. The major ones are:
* visit pier 39
* go look at the bridge
* someone told me to go down to santa monica (hope I have this right) to the boardwalk, and look at the fireworks...
* Yosemite is on my list for sure, guessing a good drive, and then a day of nice walks and photo opportunities.
I am open to other suggestions, so if anyone wants to chip in, go for it...
At some point in the furture, I have to goto vegas ! If only to see the lights ?
Thanks again.

Thanks all for your great feedback.
Well, I cannot wait, as each day passes a new journey in my life is about to start.
Anyway, here's hoping I can make some friends either prior too arriving, or when i arrive.
I myself have read that americans do like Aussie's, thus with the little or no response, was thinking this may be harder then I first thought.
Thanks again...

Hi all,
I am an Aussie bloke moving to San Jose CA (USA) in a little over a months time, this is a big move for me, and I have been trying to make friends online with not much luck ?
Does the thought of chasing a crocodile down a North Queensland river to have your photo with it scare you ?
Why ? I am an alright bloke... Is it that most women online are really after something more than friendship ?
Most say that would like to be friends first, and see what happens... May be I am just nuts moving, or perhaps I am ugly...
Your thoughts please... Bring it on...
Gazza :)
