EFT .......... The answer to ALL your problems!! I am an absolute advocate of this therapy and the true beauty of it is it is FREE and available to you 24hrs a day 7days a week. You dont need to talk to anyone about your problems but yourself and for some strange metaphysical reason this works every single time...... no exceptions!!
It works with emotional and physical problems and it releases you to go forward to a brighter future without the baggage that attaches itself to you over the years.
The therapy involves tapping the energy meridians of your body while acknowledging the problem and giving positive affirmation. This is a great example of it in practice.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yw5Q0pNWPIY&feature=channel_page
My experience with this therapy has been short of miraculous. I have a chronic neck problem with bulging discs. I recently had an MRI after the problem got so bad I could hardly use my left arm and had constant pain in my shoulder and arm.The MRI showed the disc had bulged to the point it completely effaced the thecal canal and was displacing the spinal cord and also compressing nerve roots. The neurosurgeon advised not to operate until the pain was unbearable because the operation could cause more problems than I already had.
After watching a few clips on youtube about EFT, and then out of the blue my daughter sent me an email about EFT, I decided to just tap along with the youtube clip, replacing the headache the woman had with my neck problem. After just 2 times tapping with this video I was amazed the pain in my neck was completely gone and hasnt returned. That was 4mths ago. Since then I have used the technique with headaches and I also experience opthalmaplegic migraines, which effect my eyesight more than pain, it subsides the symptoms of this condition within a few minutes.
It can be used on anything and the one thing about this is it can also help deal with the emotional problems which manifest in situations just like you found yourself in. It is obvious you have an issue that needs to be dealt with. I have told people to "get a big black dog up 'em" in traffic just because I was an emotional cripple!! You can help yourself with just a little time spent on watching the clips available free about EFT and putting it into practice. There is no excuse anymore for people not to get help.

Who are you calling Bird Brain?
Posted:

I think sometimes I am a bird brain........ doesnt intellligence equate to the amount of time spent giving a certain subject attention? There are many subjects which there is much to learn about, that I have never given my attention to so on those subjests I would be seen as a bird brain. It would serve people to remember that when they assume someone is, as per the thread title, a 'bird brain'.
As for the birds........ I am sure if I studied the anatomy of the 'bird brain' I would find a limited ability to learn. There are some humans which fall into that catagory........ on POF perhaps that equates to the jilted lover who just doesnt get it.

Flouride have you had your dose today??

The Physiological Importance of the Pineal Gland
During the late 1990's in England, a scientist by the name of Jennifer Luke undertook the first study the effects of sodium fluoride on the pineal gland. She determined that the pineal gland, located in the middle of the brain, was a target for fluoride. The pineal gland simply absorbed more fluoride than any other physical matter in the body, even bones.
Because of the pineal gland's importance to the endocrine system, her conclusions were a breakthrough. Her study provided the missing link to a lot of physiological damage from sodium fluoride that had been hypothesized but not positively connected. A veritable root source for the chain reaction of blocked endocrine activity had been isolated.
Good news though. Frequent exposure to outdoor sunshine, 20 minutes or so at a time, will help stimulate a fluoride calcified pineal gland. Just make sure you take off your hat. This is more important than most realize, because the pineal gland affects so much other enzyme and endocrine activity, including melatonin production.
I have read the pineal gland is what is activated in the brain of monks when they meditate to a higher conciousness.

OK......... so there are pros and cons in the flouride debate. As I knew there would be.
So is anyone concerned with the fact they put it in 'everyones' water wether wanted or not?? You may be pro flouride but how would you feel about other 'medications' being mass distributed, dosage depending on how much water you choose to drink!?
I am not having kittens over this, I just hold a real aversion to having my right to choose taken from me.

SM08 ..... hoorah!! I thought I was speaking in a language not understood by the natives.
I guess some see the big picture and some are stuck in a smaller bubble.
I know what you mean about food from china ... I bought some frozen fish from aldi and it didnt taste like any fish I had ever had before. I didnt eat it. Now I check where products come from and try to only buy australian made food. The fact remains our right to choice has been taken from us. To achieve a semblence of freedom from the possible effects of flouride a person would have to buy a cow, grow their own veggies, have huge rainwater tanks and filters, chickens and who knows what else?? It seems people dont understand this is wrong wether it is or isnt toxic!!
The fact is we're all too busy wiping snotty noses and trying to be 'mum of the year', dealing with that wrinkle that wasnt there yesterday because the tv tells you its soooooo obvious, putting up with that guy who has a job he isnt smart enough to have telling you what to do, or worrying about how we'll make ends meet this month?!
JUST STOP
Take a breath and try to stretch your bubble for just a little while.

SM08 thats what I mean ...... there is so much info out there about the reason NOT to put it in the water so why do it?? It seems not drinking the tap water will help somewhat but if the crops are getting watered and it is being used in industry the right to choose has been taken from us.
As far as helping with dental care ... perhaps better education about actually caring for our teeth would be less expensive and more helpful.
The fact remains the choice should be the individuals to make. Whats next?? Tamiflu in the water??

OK this is about the recent overdosing of the water with flouride, approx 30times the 'recommended' dosage, to the water in Pine Rivers Brisbane.
Whats going on??
This is a link to information about flouride and the medical facts from doctors.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYU-Qcp3n5Y&feature=channel_page
I dont feel very easy about it especially when my grandchildren live in that area.
Are there any scientific or medical people out there who can give there personal slant on this subject??
Knowing a 'little' about neuro-toxins like flouride, I know it is very difficult to pinpoint the symptoms caused as they r varied in type and severity. It has been suggested the more 'modern' diseases such as chronic fatigue (fybromyalgia) and Lupus could be caused by the overload of such neurotoxins as mercury and flouride in our environment.
Whats your take on the subject?? Should we be allowing the government to make medical decisions for us?? They already blackmail us into immunising our children by denying FTB to anyone who refuses or cant provide proof their child has been imunised?? Whats that all about?? Should we be allowing a mass medicating of the population??

The Media - Do they report the news or manufacture it? How do we hold them accountable?

I try not to watch the mainstraem news at all but strangely get drawn to wanting to know what everyone else does, so find myself watching from time to time. Can they be more obvious? The brainwashing has been happening for many years and we dont even realise the subtle changes that are made within our psychi. Just turn off the mainstream news and watch some of the many private news broadcasts available on the internet.
I could go on but enough said.

The Final Curtain for Jacko!!!!!
Posted:

When I first heard MJ was gone, I was spending time in this culturally created experience we call life and obviously doing what we all do...... my own thing, pertaining to the long held habits and instilled culturally social judgements we all make many times each day. My first reaction was much like hilly's, (I havent been an MJ 'fan' and have an aversion to 'rock spiders'), the world is less one 'bad apple'.
Then I thought, how would the greater part of me, the source of my conciousness feel about his life and death? Leaving all the judgements about his choices in life out, it only leaves his contribution to mass conciousness. What a contribution that was!! Who hasnt tried moon walking?? The dance from thriller even made it into movies. Wacko Jacko! He was a thriller himself.
Why should his memory within conciousness be tainted by what was never proven to be a fact. Why shouldnt we choose to give our attention to all that is good in this world, so I choose to remember MJ as the eccentric artist he was, brilliant in his creativity and sadly tormented in his 'place' in time and space.

Thats the trouble ..... any man will stick around if they get regular sex , as long as ur not one crazy mofo .......... OK solved ur prob LULT
As far as the young and horny go ........ they learnt from our mistakes wether they admit it or not. GO ARETHA!!
As far as sex is concerned, absence doesnt make the heart grow fonder for women .... once past that point, which is probably different for everyone, a woman doesnt want sex anymore like she used to. Its like sex is a drug when once your weened off it u dont crave it. But have it again and ur addiction kicks in. Awaken the sleeping giant and LOOK OUT!!!!

OK .... So why does this happen?? Sex is one of the most enjoyable, feel good experiences EVER experienced by mankind!!!! So why do people through choice, (mostly women I assume) choose not to indulge in this basically free passtime????
1. Never had good sex????? Decided its not worth it!
2. Has had plenty of good sex but has been too drunk and doesnt remember how good it is.
3. Has had the best sex of their life with a man who is now having better sex with someone else.
4. Has been told by a man they are no good in bed and actually believe it.
5. Is still waiting for MR Right. (sooooo stupid)
6. Confuses 'sex' with 'relationship'........ bad mistake.
7. Thinks they are actually the virgin mary incarnate.
For me ...... I got disillusioned with relationships starting with a night of wine, song and looking through hazy intoxicated eyes, enjoying a wild abandon of physical pleasure. Basically, "You F@ck 'em you own 'em". These days I take more time to decide if I want someone in my life. If they dont stick around then they 're not for me.

Ultimately we as a culture do the things we do because we believe we will benefit from them or avoid some negative result. Anything a person does is because they believe it will ultimately make them feel better. Even a masochist does what they do because they think it will make them feel better. Not one ounce of masochist in this little black duck!! But I suppose thats another thread??

HAHA this reminds me of my darling little sister who sadly passed away several years ago. She would go up to a guy and say " Hey mate wanna buy me a drink??" if the guy said no then she would say " Then I suppose a f@ck is out of the question?!" and walk away. We would crack up every time she did it! Love her and miss her heaps but still have jolly memories of her gr8 sense of humour.

Whores paying too much for a measly two inches....

In reading through the replies to this thread there is a definite divide between the opinions of POFers on this topic.
Wether you respect the oldest profession on the planet or dont, the fact remains the "whores" (for want of a better word) are being discriminated against by having to pay a higher price for the same service.
nevaagin ........ you have contradicted yourself saying the girls who choose this lose self respect, but your friend you admire???????? cant figure this out. So its ok for your friend to do it, admirable in fact, but you judge everyone else! Maybe some should turn judgement on themselves for having such a narrow view of the world.
The fact remains this is blatant discrimination and graft.

First I would have to believe in death...............
I believe we are a spiritual being having a human experience ...... not a human having a spiritual experience, therefore this experience we call death is only a transition back to our true form.

The coolest cult in town
Posted:
5/3/2009 5:35:20 PM
*
I have thought the word "cult" was made up by a functionalist government to "warn" the people of "danger". The danger being ........... if you believe/follow any doctrine other than the mainstream culturally accepted norm, then you belong to a "cult" which is "dangerous" ............... they warn you about that dont they.............. "dangerous".
A free thinking, liberal society embraces all thoughts, opinions, preferences and beliefs. I do believe there are those who are particularly susceptable to the influence of certain controling groups who thrive on just that, controling others. However, each person has the right to choose, if that choice is to allow another or a strict doctrine to controle them, so be it. Its their choice. They are where they are.
Individual power comes with knowledge and what better time to live than the present time. We have the "information super highway" to suck the knowledge from. Fewer and fewer people are being fooled by shonky "cults". Even mainstream religions are starting to think for themselves, they dont have a choice because mankind is finally waking up!
Its only a cult until enough people believe it, then it is a religion.

rather be at home then work and take any responsibility leaving at home, letting mummy and daddy pay for bills, food and roof over their head.
Sounds like you have someone bludging off you ...... otherwise why would you write this thread ........ or is your daughter is dating someone like this?
I see you work in nursing...... really i am glad it is in admin ...... you dont seem to have the right attitude for the nursing profession, very judgemental.

My dream home has warmth and is a place friends cant help but take their shoes off and relax. A home where my children and grandbabies can visit to enjoy and feel welcome and happy.
Wonderful enchanting gardens and a running stream to sit and meditate by. The perfect place to co-create a future.

Men do it more than women, but women wank also..... is it still wanking when its a woman?? Not quite a wanking movement I dont think. More like winking?
Anyway ...... When my son was obviously going through the "wow this feels really good" stage, I had the " Its a natural part of becoming a man" talk and the "there's a time and a place for everything" talk and voila!! No more embarassing moments in public and a happy little chappy.

I know little about whales except they r magnificent creatures and they use sonar to navigate.
I have seen some science bits on youtube which talk about the magnetic poles of the planets and how the suns pole usually flips every however long but at the moment the sun has 6 magnetic poles and the earths poles are in the process of flipping.
This doesnt mean we are all going to die it means the magnetics of the planet are adjusting in the natural course of things I think.
Could this have anything to do with the whales and their sonar being mucked up??
Just a thought. Anyone who knows more about whales and their navigation senses may know.

Yes I said criminals ...... not bikers as suggested.
There is a criminal element in all walks of life. Admitedly the bike groups in Aus have changed over the past 10yrs. A lot of bad blood and things left unresolved, getsquares and the like are bound to occur when a persons individuality is sacrificed to 'belong' to a stronger entity, a gang. One gets hurt they all get square, thats how it works isnt it?

[qoute]So my question is, life is not a bowl of cherries, bunch of roses etc and it never will be...never was.
Such a sad way to look at life. My life is definately a bowl of cherries and a bunch of roses ......... it all depends on wether you see ur cherries as fresh and juicy, sweet to the taste or not.
We all have the right to choose. If a person has been brainwashed by that which attention has been given to, first understand it was that persons free will which chose what to give their attention to and therefore decide what culture and belief system they identify with and believe to be true.
Trauma is subjective and identicle situations are accepted by the individual in a miriad of different ways.
It is when society begins to believe their individual choices must line up with the majority, that free will is surrendered to the powers that be and people stop thinking for themselves.

Boobs are a sexual magnet.Teeth are not
It would be interesting to know how a guy would react if he was considering trying to crack on to a girl with gr8 tits.
After perving from a distance for some time he walks up to her to deliver the proverbial opening line and when she smiles she has terrible teeth, gaps and cavities. Furry even!
How many would change their mind about how hot she was??

I entirely agree with yellowjack
the best way to reject someone politely is to not reply at all
When I first joined I found I feel better when I dont reply also because I dont have to reject anyone, if I dont reply .... its a non event. Its the same if I dont get a reply from a message I send ..... plenty of fish

Dont know about anyone else but chess just isnt an event!
And since when has chess been intellectual? Mostly mathematical as far as I can see .... never been able to play it, too left brain 4 me. Very antisocial and not to mention boring..... probably wouldnt get much of a response. (sorry to all the chess lovers and anal thinkers)
Intellectual in this instance means different and interesting, something new, and 4 those who want to put their point to the thread. It seems most everyone is happy with wats being organised now and if theyre not then now theres a thread to say so or suggest other things.
And I never said I didnt love bikes and the freedom associated ...... just not into bike runs and crowds. Those runs are very popular you know.

False Teeth, Fake Breasts. What's the Difference?
Posted:

Personally I dont see the difference because it is all individual choice. I f someone wants to get fake tits ...... or in a lot of cases the tits you had b4 you had children....... I say go for it!
Why do some people have a problem with others preferences?? As long as I dont have to have fake tits in my face it doesnt affect me.
As for teeth ......they ARE in your face!......... so it is a bit different.
To want good looking teeth and a clean, white smile is normal and some people have accidents or health probs which causes them to lose their own teeth. Try getting a job of any calibre in client service with no teeth. Or is our aging society doomed to be the cleaners and backroom people in the workforce? Imagine the news reader or Koshy and Mel with no teeth. Mel already has no tits.

When they did an overnight sleep test on him they found his airways shut down for just a minute 6 times every hour while he slept. Anyway just losing this amount of oxygen to the brain can cause really REALLY challenging behavoiur in children.
Just as smoking can cause accellerated vascular disease because it limits the amount of oxygen which gets to the brain can cause seizures in the brain, so can the loss of oxygen from any source and that includes sleep apnoea.
Surviving on 4hrs sleep a night doesnt mean you have sleep apnoea I dont think, unless there are more than one type of this condition. Which is quite possible considering the medical profession is like a cell dividing at an ever increasing rate. I wonder of they will ever stop finding new diseases?

National Anthem

I agree, not many aussies identify with our current anthem. Since 1 in 4 aussies were born overseas I think the chorus of We are Australian is most appropriate and I dont know about anyone else but it leaves a warm feeling with me every time I hear it. I think it would be very appropriate to sing at the Olympics.
As far as our flag is concerned........that is a bit different.
Young Aussie men fought and died under that flag. I dont think in the midst of battle our anthem meant much but I know the flag meant and means a lot to servicemen in Australia. As far as I am concerned, if some see it as a sacrifice to keep the flag as is, that is one I will freely make. A small price to pay to show respect and say thankyou.

Gr8 suggestions .... I saw the mini golf and the brekky walk and thought they are really good, laid back events that are only a couple of hours, which is really what is good because it gives time to get together with someone you met at the event i.e. drinks or coffee afterwards without all the other POFers.
I saw they r having a fancy dress party in Perth I think. Sounds like fun and masks on til midnight is a nice twist.
Tomatoes sound messy .......... and hard. Maybe we could use preserved fruit ..... sweeter, softer and not a prob for those in the geri set, with tomato allergy or ADD.
Yessssss the progressive party (using previously suggested events) sounds like a nightmare to organise but it seems u have it all worked out. U must b one of the smart people aye. Very original.
I just saw a clip on hypnosis at a party ........... really funny!!!
I wonder if there is hypnotists who do parties here in Brissy?? That would be a kak!
Keep em comin guys ........ never know your suggestion might be picked up by someone who has the go to get it going.

Some gr8 bands I agree. I saw some clips on youtube of the concert if anyone hasnt seen it. Makes me feel old though when my 18yr old looks at me weird when I enjoy music from a time gone by .............. had to explain the Split Enz/Crowded House history and he got it I think.
The Aussie bands are the glue that sticks our aussie culture together .......... it was back then and it still is today for our kids. Just listen to the new music and you know where your kids heads are at.

Hi spella, thanx 4 the welcome. I didnt know if this thread would be taken the wrong way or not .... thought about it and then decided it would definately tell me what the posters where individually about. Isnt that why we put our profile up in this very public forum ..... to find friends, mates, lovers or partners to spend time doing ultimately what we individually want to do?
I am not the one to organise events atm. Just putting the question out there ...... it is a simple request to trawl the imaginations of the members here.
I did think it would give the budding comedians on the site a chance to peddle their wares.

Hi all
I have been a member for only a short time and have kept my eye on the events and forums here in Brissy at POF.
I have noticed the events are mainly bike and car rallys to different pubs and such and I thought (painful at times) it would be good to have events that cater not only to those who are into bikes and the outdoors but also events which cater to the more intellectual member. Not that I have anything against bikes, one of my best friends was a biker, R.I.P. Huddo.
I am not one to organise an event, however I would be more interested in a lecture on quantum theories than visiting one of the many watering holes in the area, or a night of tenpin, with teams. (hey thats a good idea)
I am asking for suggestions (no I will not stick my head up my bum) to get some thoughts out there in the community for future events.
I am interested to see what you good people can come up with.
Cheers Jacqui

I agree you are optimistic and possibly ignorant if you think Anna Bligh meant anything other than the decision was based on financial reasons. She said the advice she was given was it "would be better to clean up the spill once it hit the beach" .... In other words it was cheaper in financial terms to let the wildlife suffer.
She, or should I say the party leaders (which she is not) obviously had the dollars in mind not the environment. If this wasnt so, the people who are losing their livelyhood because the tourists are just not coming atm would have been given more than an afterthought.
Shame on you Anna Bligh!

To Tell or Not to Tell?

The way I see it the past is the past. Nothing can be done to change it except in your own mind.
When you remember the past you ultimately play all the roles in the movie..................... Maybe it is the way you think about these events which is your downfall.
When I think of the times in my life most would rather forget, I have to put them (yes there r a few) in the right perspective. Without the mistakes and poor choices we make in our life we cant know what we really want. Without knowing what we want we cant walk towards it, and if you dont know what your looking for you just may not see it.
I dont think it is a good idea to 'share' the bad times from your past with a prospective partner, unless of course you are a masochist and really enjoy the drama and pain of it all. In fact I dont want to know what uncomfortably embarassing and morally questionable mistakes someone I am seeing has made ......... isnt it all about the future? and really, sometimes it will have been so long ago that you are the only one who really cares anymore.
Concerning a potential partner having a problem when these things arise ......... I am wanting to build a future, if you live in the past you'll be there all alone.

simple question - do you believe in a god?

Most people r at their own place in their spiritual walk. U say u were once an athiest .... now u r a christian. I see nothing wrong with that and if christianity serves you well for the rest of your life that is gr8 for you, and in the future if your inner being pushes you toward another answer which serves you then that is good also. No one religion has exclusive rights to the power which we call God. Even athiests, without even knowing it acess the power.
When you look at the ancient history of man and the different civilisations which existed, when you look geologically at the extinction phases throughout history and the way life has formed on this planet, how can you not know there is a God ....... we r only just beginning to see the big picture.
I think the question we should be asking is not what is God but What is Man?
We are conciousness personified. Have you ever tried to conciously feel your conciousness ........ try it now .........how does it feel?

There are a lot of books for and against the existence of God.
dimeadozen ..... it seems you have read a few books agreeing there is a God. How many have you read arguing the con, that there isnt a God? How can someone argue a point when they dont have knowledge of many different perspectives?
Have you read the God delusion??
Try "Conversations with God" (CwG) is a sequence of nine books written by "Neale Donald Walsch", written as a dialogue in which Walsch asks questions and God answers. Its the next perspective I intend exploring.

I found this guy on youtube. His perspective on God is unique and his explaination of his perspective is well said.

I believe modern man has created God in his own image. Do you really think an all powerful, non-physical being would look like he has one foot in the grave? We have given him age, because we equate age with wisdom.
If you go back far enough in time you will see Christianity and Islam are a very new concept in the scheme of things. However it seems since man could record events he has somehow known there is a higher power than his mortal self. I think it is an individual and unique perception as to if or what God is.
As my profile says:
"I am fascinated by the way people have absolute faith in a belief and then become tied to that belief, being retarded at times in their life experience by their devotion to their faith, only to end up either resenting and leaving their faith or living a lie. I am open minded and appreciative of all faith as I believe they all have something to teach us about life."
Please dont think I am dumping on any religion or faith, however I am pro choice and believe all have the right to decide what religion, if any, serves them.
I was a Christian for 15 years (yep ran the op-shop n wrote the newsletter) and although I have moved further into my spiritual journey and have other metaphysical beliefs now, Christianity did me a great service and was the right choice for me at the time.
Do I believe there is a God? Not the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, I believe all things are one and our physical aparatus is simply that, aparatus for the God force to use to experience life in the physical and expand conciousness.

a life lived as a slave to ego

I cant see the difference in wanting to be abundant in wealth and posessions and wanting to be abundant in your health or relationships. It seems to me, a person only allows the abundance they really think they deserve, to manifest in their life.
If you have no self esteem and are looking for a partner, job, home, basically anything to do with personal choice .... or ego ..... you will settle for less of what you truly want, you will expect less and settle for less. It all depends on what, in your heart of hearts, you believe you deserve.
Skyhooks said it all when they sang ..... EGO is not a dirty word!
