Hmmmmm, 93 women to 53 men, about the norm, as a lot of the ladies get cold feet on the evening and most of the men wait and wait before committing to the night! I would think it will be pretty equal come the night! Mind you, it was the reason I started to dance, way back when...hahahahaha

What a great weekend, thanks to all that made it out for camping and to all the others who dropped by to share the fun. The biking was great for those that went and the long hiker with them was sore for a while, 14 plus kms is a LONG way! Hearing the wind dropping trees in the forest was a little scary but none were even close to where we were! Many thanks to Balled Eagle for aall his great work and to all who helped every one set up and take down the tents. We have to do it again soon!

So! Pot luck Saturday late afternoon/evening...bring your own meat, and a smallish side dish to share, most times there is WAY tooo much for all of us! The cost is figured out to 10 per tent/rv because it is a group site. Lets get our carpooling/ride sharing together as it really helps keep the total cost down!

Here we are again, almost 3 years later.... how could we delay going to one of the most beautiful spots on earth for soooo long? Check out the pictures from the last one at... http://forums.plentyoffish.com/datingPosts4927012.aspx WHERE: Powell river.....Haywire Bay campsite (directions below) WHEN: July 24th and 25th 2009 COST:$10 per tent or rv per night, (max 3 people) extra people $3 each. The campground manager will collect each night. HOST: bigandtalldancer THIS IS A KID FRIENDLY EVENT Coming from the lower mainland I suggest you reserve on the Horseshoe bay to Langdale Ferry, or be there an hour or more early. Do get to Earls cove as soon as you can or you may have to wait 2 extra hours, if the ferry is full . From Van Is. I would be at Little River at least 1 hour early. Directions and info is as follows.....From the Saltery Bay ferry drive 28k and take a right on Joyce ave (Thunder bay store +gas bar on the right).down Joyce ave just over 6 k to the end. Left on Manson ave 1 block then right on Cassiar st keep left, now you are on Yukon ave . Part way around Cranberry lake You will see the campsight sign. Take a right on Haslam st , at the top of the hill keep to the left and follow the signs. Then look for red ribbons! From the Van Is ferry . Off the ferry to the first light take a left, follow Marine ave to the next light and go right up Alberni st at the next light go left onto Joyce ave. Along Joyce to the end and go left, along Manson for 1 block then right onto Cassiar st stay left you are now on Yukon ave. . Part way around Cranberry Lake you will see the campsight sign, Turn right on Haslam st. at the top of the hill stay left and follow the signs. Entering the campsite stay right up a little hill then right into our campsite. There is a common cooking and eating area in our groupsite and I am bring my grill stove combo and light. I don't think everyone needs to bring the works so if you don't have them or don't have room I wouldn't worry about it as the locals will bring all their gear. Ride sharing or carpooling is strongly recommended as it will help keep the costs down! PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU ARE COMING AS SPACE IS LIMITED ON THE GROUP SITE. WE MAY ALL HAVE TO DOUBLE UP IF YOU DON'T!! Tucked into the shoreline of Powell Lake near Inland Lake, Haywire Bay Regional Park is a popular recreation playground on the upper Sunshine Coast. You'll find picnicking, camping, canoeing and swimming at Haywire Bay Regional Park. One of the treats of visiting this beach is swimming the short distance to nearby Honeymoon Island. Haywire Bay Regional Campground has 12 waterfront campsites accessed by water and 33 RV/tent campsites. There is no advanced registration other than for group camping accommodations. Other facilities include a boat launch, playground, picnic/day-use area, drinking water, showers, and toilets. The 2.5-mile (4-km) moderately difficult Lost Lake Trail connects the park at Haywire Bay with the west side of Inland Lake. Along the way this up-and-down, forested route passes diminutive Lost Lake. A 3.5-mile (5.5-km) lakeside trail runs along the shore of Powell Lake from the park to Mowat Bay Park to the south. The 8-mile (13-km) splendidly constructed Inland Lake Trail follows the shoreline circling Inland Lake, which is ringed with cottonwoods, providing a delightful place to picnic in fall.

Hahahahaha, I just sent them a note explaining how to change their settings and mark it up to "people don't/can't read". I get hate mail from both male and female members and wish them the best of luck in their search as I know they will find the person they think they deserve. Taking the abuse pesonally is not an option for me. I feel that it is THEIR problem, not mine. It seems to be a problem of people failing to read and get information from said reading. JMHO

Thank you ML 1 Sally has really "turned it up a notch" with her group and POF gets the benefit! More people have been enable for picture upload so we should see more soon! A very special "thank you" is also in order for the MARINE PUB and the great and caring staff....they did a great job even with the numbers. The food was super and the portions huge!

Me thinks this all is "Much ado about nothing" ... if you don't want to pay for it, don't do it! Simple Some people believe that if you don't pay...you get what you "paid for" ie. nothing. So... give 'em what they want to make them happy. Now that the site owner has hired staff and set up an office (at his cost) he probably has seen a revenue erosion, so a simple addition to the features has gained it back....duh? If this is really a problem for people they can always go start a free site on their own...nothing says you can't. I for one don't have any problem with the owner doing what will enhance (for some) their experience in a way that will not impact the other users. Why would anyone complain if they don't have to do it?? JMHO
