My Nine year old son has just been diagnosed with swine flu, He woke this morning with a a sore throat, he complained that he didn't feel very well, by this afternoon he was on the floor screaming that his head felt like it was going to explode, when I went to pick him up he cried asking me not to touch him because everything hurt....I had to call the doc out to him..... His temp is sky high, they have issued him anti viral drugs.... 1 to be taken every 12 hours..... Going to be a long night......

join the army and go to Afghanistan
Posted:

So, if your son/daughter was thinking of joining up, and there is a good chance that they would be sent there, would you try and deter them from joining.?
As it happens my two older daughters and my son plan to join the army on leaving school, and I would be proud of them.... and as it is their decision it is one I would support for the simple reason is I am proud of my country and I install that same pride in my children... And to serve our country, even though it is an old fashioned ideal is something I would be proud of my children for. If my children do end up in the armed forces as they plan, they will be third generation to join one of the armed forces....

Immigrant Amnesty Proposal !!
Posted:
7/11/2009 11:49:42 AM
Of all the stupid ideas I've heard and I've heard some this one has to be up there at the top.......
Lets not delude ourselves here, this country is a hot bed of anger hate and unfortunately racism, on all sides...... and by allowing illegals already in the country to stay here legally is just adding more fuel to an already explosive situation......
The A and E departments are already dealing with the after effects of violence, and no matter how the government tries to manipulate the figures, violent attacks are on a steady increase.... You only have to speak to those staff who work in the A and E departments.....
As for the housing situation, once again you can't deny what people are seeing.... I can name at least three housing estates in a small section of West London where bran new housing has gone up and either immigrants or asylum seekers have gone in..... I can name of the top of my head four British Families who have been on the register for housing and having been bidding for years to be told time and time again they haven't got enough points, one family lives with the aunt and her husband their two children the niece her husband and their four boys in a four bed house..... My mums neighbor recently moved in originally from afganistan.... her other neighbor from pakistan.... neither holds a British passport....... A friend of mine is in a two bed private rent has been for the last 8 years... two girls, has bid every week, then she was told as her youngest daughter had now reached 16 she was no longer eligible for council housing....
Once again you can't deny what people are seeing, especially when it's happening the length of the country......
Who ever comes up with these stupid ideas must be living in cloud cuckoo land.....

How many people are aware of how much the government is borrowing ??
Posted:
7/11/2009 11:29:21 AM
Just out of curiosity when is the next general election?........
Then the next question seeing as how the majority of MPs are thieving **stards is there any point voting?
As to how much this government has borrowed, not entirely sure on that one.... What I do know is as a country we owe more now than what we did at the end of the second world war.......
What I do know is we as a country will still be paying it off when I'm long dead and bury......

At what age is it creepy if a man is sleeping with his daughter?
Posted:
7/10/2009 6:39:11 PM
went out with a man that seemed fairly nice, has been divorced for 2+ years, but mentioned in passing that his 9 year old daughter never uses her bed. She sleeps with him every night. He has her alone every weekend. This gave me the heeby-jeebies. While there is probably nothing bad going on, I still wonder if that isn't a tad old to be sleeping with her father. He mentioned he hasn't even bought her a bed in his 3 bedroom house because she said she didn't want one. Does anyone else think this might raise some red flags?
No, I don't think it's creepy, i've woken up many a morning to find my 9 year old son in with me.... Wheres the differance, because i'm his mother......
She is still at nine a little girl...... Personaly unless there is other indicators I think you are worrying over nothing....

Superiority.
Posted:
7/10/2009 3:01:32 AM
The question was about a wealthy person who give their own time freely to aid the community versus someone who does not work and does nothing(to make money you need to work, so you're likely a busy person
But then the wealthy can afford to give their time freely can't they!!!!!
Where as the average working Joe especially in this climate is to busy trying to keep a roof over his/her head and keep food on the table to feed the rug rats..... to donate their time to the community.....
Being wealthy doesn't make you better then someone who isn't.... , nor does it make you superior....... you can be rich and a****or poor and a****... if you are a good friend a good parent a good person, doesn't matter if you are rich or poor....

National ID cards cannot and will not work. There are too many people, like myself, who would just refuse to have/carry them.
When people didn't comply with the errr goverment in what used to be the USSR, didn't they just disapear?.......
Fining people for not carrying them is not a sensible idea. It seems to me that whoever is in power they will go ahead with this scheme as I'm sure its controlled by someone outside of politics.
And they have had good ideas up to date?

As cold as this is going to sound.... Get a grip, I've been on my own with my kids for nearly ten years, and doing a damn good job of it is well...... So big bloody woop.... Why feel sorry for your self, suck it up....
As conceited as it may sound I haven't come across anyone I feel is good enough to be part of my kids lives nor am I willing to settle for second best.....
You don't need to have someone in your life... be strong and secure in yourself show your girls what it means to be able to stand on their own two feet without having to fall back on a partner..... Don't stress out over falling in Love... Just go out and have fun.... if it's ment to be it's ment to be....

What gets me with this is crimes against the Establishment seem to get taken more seriously than crimes against her people or her children.......Who is Ronnie Briggs going to hurt if he gets out....
It amazes me the length of sentencing a crime against the Establishment receives compared to that of a Pedophile, my friends sister was sexually abused from the age of 8 until the age of 13..... he was sentenced to 3 poxy years on good behavior and time served he will be released Oct 3rd I think it is after serving the grand total of 18 months.....
When that **stard is released he will do it again..... Just who would Ronnie Briggs hurt... he is old he is sick and he came home to die.....
Says it all really doesn't it.......

Cocaine Trafficking
Posted:
7/4/2009 6:04:04 PM
It comes through the post who knew.....
Thursday Morning my mother who is 58 years old, never taken an illegal substance in her life answered the door to 7 uniformed police officers and sniffer dogs with a search warrant to search the house from top to bottom for illegal substance.. Cocaine to be more presise.... A package had been tracked from South America addressed to my mothers address, on entering the country it's been intercepted, full of cocain....
My mum was mortified... the worst thing she has ever done is pick up a parking ticket but as the police officer said they sometimes pick address at random send their drugs through the post and someone who works for the post office intercepts the package.
Even though I can see the funny side in this, and have teased my mother, it's also very serious she was mortified and broke down into tears, she was paranoid to begin with living where she lives but now she is absolutely terrified....
Any suggestions on how to handle this one.... The police were only doing their job and mum said they were respectful.... so I have no issues there.... I'm concerned about the effect it's going to have on her.....

And as another poster has pointed out it will become more frequent, people are to busy with there small narrow minded little worlds to really give a damn....
Sure lip serves is paid..... people will express their horror at the news... but it won't have a major effect, unless it effects their own little bubble ..... e well as cold and as harsh as it sounds once again Welcome to modern Britain

Smoking is banned in public places, hell you can't even smoke in your own home if you have a non smoking official coming round.... If someone wants to smoke in their car so what....
As for smoking round your children being child abuse... get over yourself...
All these anti social ex smokers get over yourself.....

Guns...how young is too young?

Maybe it's the Brit in me.... but the very thought of any of my children handling a a weapon regardless of what age absolutely horrifies me..... and I will never in a million years understand how a parent could want to teach their child how to use it.... fair enough if we were back in the day when we had to hunt for our food or defending our very lives or our family, then I can understand the need for a weapon but these days, can get everything you need from the super market..... And shooting someone even in defense is a criminal act.....
I will never understand the need to own a gun or teach their child how to use it...

If it's the ones I think your on about they only work if your diet is high in fat.... What it does is collects all the fat and you shit it out..... The downside if you have a high fat diet you have a real bad case of the shits...
Your friend wants to lose weight there is only one way to do it where it is going to stay off... have a well balanced diet lots of fruit and veg.... don't eat after a set time a night, and excersise..... There is is not quick fix to weight loss.... a healthy weight loss is between 1 nd 2lbs a week.... You lose to quickly it will go back on ..... tell her to join one of those weight loss programs weight watchers or slimming world and increase her excersise.....

Hi
When I put my kids in a bed I had the same problem.... they saw it as a game..... in the end I made sure they couldn't hurt themselves on anything and closed the bedroom door, my eldest got wised to this empty out her toy box stood on it to open the door LOL.... they fell asleep a few times on the floor in front of the bedroom door but they got the message in the end... unfortunately it's one of those things were all you can do is perceiver, and don't acknowledge when they get out of bed.... put her back in without talking to her and close the bedroom door...

Girls hitting boys
Posted:
5/13/2009 1:54:42 PM
I have to say this can't hit girls back is the biggest load of bull I've ever heard..... I'm of the believe that if you can hit a male then you better be prepared to take one back......
Yes I have a 9 year old son... and I teach my son that to hit a girl isn't right.... BUT as it was pointed out to me if a girl goes up and hits my son continuasly... why should my son stand and take it....
I've seen full grown women attack men, these poor blokes stand there, I had a neighbor once banging on my front door screaming that he'd hit her, he's come out blood pouring down his face, she hit him over the head with the phone.... Funny that isn't it.... but it was him who was deemed the bad **stard for defending himself....
girls can be nastier than little boys and a lot of little girls know that you do not hit girls regardless of the reason is drilled into little lads from day dot.....
I know a few people will not agree with my opinion all I'm saying is sometimes you got to hit back regardless of the sex of the attacker.....

Man Flu !!!
Posted:
5/13/2009 12:19:19 PM
MAN FLU
1/ The condition shared by all males wherein a common illness (usually a mild cold) is presented by the patient as life-threatening.
This is also known as 'Fishing for Sympathy' or 'Chronic Exaggeration'.
When the patient is your boyfriend, he will exhibit the standard symptoms (such as an overwhelming desire for compassion) while simultaneously rejecting any and all efforts you make to placate him.
You: Awww, you poor fella.
Him: I'm DYING!
You: (Soothingly) Oh, you're not dying Cy.
Him: (Indignant) I AM! I have Man Flu!
You: Do you need some sympathy?
Him: Yes! But no one understands my pain...
You: I understa-
Him: NO YOU DO NOT!!!
2/ A rare strain of flu so powerful and so deadly it can only be matched by the Bubonic Plague and Aids. A incurable virus which has adapted to only effect the "XY" gene found in men. The virus attacks the immune system 10,000 times harder than the average flu virus, causing excruciating pain for the victim. Man Flu has no cure and prayers can save the forsaken life of the infected. The often deadly virus is mostly laughed at by women who sadly cannot contract "Man Flu"
Woman: Is he ok?
Doctor: I'm afraid not, I'm sad to say he has Man Flu
3/The one week out of the year when a man has a cold, and doesn't feel good, and excercises his right to complain and whine- contrary to every ****ing day of a woman's life when we have to hear you complain.
The man flu is usually accompanied by a lack of sympathy from females, which further advances the adverse symptoms of the man flu.
GF: Ugh, BF is so annoying and whiny, all he has is a cold.
BFF: Oh, yeah, the Man Flu.
BF: GOD FORBID you take care of ME for ONE DAY and not complain
according to the urban dictionary........
got to say though sounds somewhat familiar

Or especially in the area I live practically non exsistat.... He wants to take up rugby....no clubs in the area.... he wants to take up boxing.... once again Not avilble..... So what we do is cycle...... 6 miles a day....

Struck off for exposing the truth

A nurse went undercover to expose the atrocious treatment of the elderly in so called caring establishments. She has now been struck off for "whistle blowing"[,quote]
Not the first time not the last.... I just happen to know someone who works sorry worked for the NHS, just lost her job,
why shit roles down hill, and they needed someone to take the blame......
Can someone please explain to me how this can be just?
Because she told, made the powers that me look idots.... can't have that now can we
Patients left in their own dirt to eat meals, left without drinking water....basic nursing care non existent
Yep, I happen to know a nurse who went on duty one evening to find her so called collages spraying pot puri air freshener all over an alcoholic because he ponged of bodily waste......
yet instead of being commended for bringing this to the publics attention - she is punished
Once again she has shown the powers that be up, and because of this well you know the result........Politics..... dirty business......
Perhaps some of the many people on here in the caring professions can explain this decision to me please?
Yeah I'd like an explanation too.....

Terms of endearment, are they offensive or a colloquialism ?
Posted:
4/23/2009 5:07:40 AM
A comment on another thread reminded me of a situation I saw on another site ( a chat room). Two ladies were ripping into a guy who had addressed someone as 'sweetheart'. He was a Londoner and could just have equally called her 'treacle',or if from Stoke called her 'duck'. (etc etc with different postcodes ).
Why get offended over it.... if they find someone calling them sweetheart they really need to get a life....
I use them all the time.... Cheers babe..,, Sweet heart, Love..... or say again my love, to name but a few.... they don't mean anything...... and if people take offense they really need take their heads from where the sun don't shine...

paedophilia...is it a mental illness?
Posted:
4/19/2009 5:19:17 PM
Before e I start let me just say that pedophilia I can't say I think it's a mental illness,,,,, and my own personal opinion is the buggers should be put down.......
But.... it's only been the last couple of hundred years, in western society, that the attitude toward adults children and sex has changed for example Lady Margaret Beaufort is 13 when she gives birth to the future Henry VII in 1457 her Husband Edmund Tudor was in his early twenties when he married her when she was 12 and consummated the marriage..... and it was sanction by the church......
Don't get me wrong I personally think it's wrong..... I don't think it's a mental illness.... Not sure what it is.... and it should be dealt with more harshly than what it is..... I'm just pointing out how opinions ideals change......

Finally I find one... 45 mins away on the bus.... have to wait four weeks for an appointment which incidentally is tommrow.... at 2pm..... No missing appointments won't be allowed to make a new one.... 48 hours notice for cancellation other wise no more appointments can be made..... especially as it's a first appointment
Well this is where sods Law comes into place.... Especially with my Littles darlings going back to school tommrow..... Friday morning through to Saturday evening 2 my little darlings came down with that stomach bug, it wasn't pretty..... Well Sunday morning my third little darling decided to part company with the contents of his stomach...... then 40 minutes ago number four yeah it's really not pretty......
Two weeks easter holiday and they pick up a bug two bloody days before they go back to school.... and before we go to the dentist that has taken me 13 months to bloody find......

Why Do Woman Love Their Soaps ?

Why ?
Watching fictional families for hours on end, several hours on several days a week. Isn't it like a drug addiction ?
Is it the routine ? Is it laziness ?
Watching other fictional people live out therir lives, day after day, week after week.
Not this female, can't stand them.
real life can me dramatic enough without dramatising it with really cheesey acting and a cheeser story line.... and then when the ratings drop kill someone off.....
My idea of pure torture make me sit and watch 30 seconds of eastenders or corrie.... Shudders in terror at the thought.....

What do I think..... let me see..... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz reminds me of those get rich quick schemes...... bloody useless and completely bloody pointless......
Instead of finger pointing and trying to come up with stupid bloody ideas that are a temporary patch at best and start looking at the root cause that have caused a small percentage of Britain's lower class to be lazy wasters who feel they are entitled to something for nothing...... Schemes like this it's not those lazy arse wasters who haven't worked a day in their life who suffer... It's those poor sods who find themselves unexpectedly unemployed and have to swallow their pride to go cap in hand......
They want these idiots to get a job... Simple stop their benifit...

^^^^^^ sour grapes?? I wasn't in the competition, it was my opinion. Have you heard real singers sing that song? Granted she's not a real singer, thought the same last year with that young girl she murdered one of my most favourite songs ever and everyone was saying it was wonderful, listen to real singers then listen to them - not that good, but OK for a kid or for someone you'd not expect it from - sorry my opinion.
Really you don't say..... I would never have guessed.....
Yeah it is your opinion... that lemon taste nice did it?
Real singer would you like to explain what a real singer is.....
one last thing
You try hitting those notes that she hit and lets see how you do.....

If she was super slim, young, super sexy and beautiful would we have thought her voice was so sensational?
She wasn't that out of this world if you ask me it was just a marked difference between her appearance (and what the misguided public would assume such an appearance to produce) and what she actually produced.
She was good but not that good and had she been young, beautiful etc there wouldn't have been so much hype - its patronising in my opinion.
Sour grapes
just my opinion,

would you forgive your partner for cheating???

would you forgive your partner for cheating???
NO and NO and NO again........ A BIG FAT NO............ wouldn't even get a second chance......
I have a friend who has been in a relationship for many years with a serial cheater. The obvious signs are all there (infact she told me he often comes home with his shirt on inside out or his boxers on back to front), After reading his mobile and ringing a few numbers she accumalated all the evidence she needed ( then had to take a trip to the G.U.M clinic). Punishment for him was 2 nights on the sofa. I couldn't help thinking he got off pretty lightly...i would have slung every item he owned on the doorstep and changed the lock without so much as uttering a single word to him...end of problem!, but maybe im just too harsh and unforgiving??? My friend has chose to ignore his indescretions for the sake of the children, hoping this with all just fizzle out, but she is clearly unhappy.
You may think what i'm about to say is harsh... But your friend keeps allowing it.
He cheats because she allows him to..... And how does she allow him, by taking him back..... No offense hun but kick your mate to the kerb untill she grows a set of balls and kicks his arse to kerb..... There is so many times a friend can sit there and listen to the wo is me my man did me wrong.....
Would anyone on here stay with a partner no matter how many times they strayed, if so what would be the reason??
Nope but then I'm not stupid.....

Commitment phobia?
Yep the thought of being in a relationship for the rest of my life makes me want to run for the hills...... I got to be honest I don't like people as a rule..... I find a lot of people self serving, and I don't want to share my space..... Hell it's my TV Remote.... And NO BUGGER gets his hands on it.....
Yep been married didn't like it....
Never cheated in my Life
They want a relationship but they also want freedom and space so they are often attracted to long distance relationships and busy independent people.
Sounds ideal
They can have a history of frequent career change and often work in environments where they have a certain amount of space and freedom.
Guilty
17. Severe commitment phobics avoid events or outings that may include the person’s family or friends.
Don't avoid does however makes me uncomfortable so try to stay clear, not always poss though....
18.They know an ongoing sexual relationship often leads to commitment so they choose to run when things start to head in that direction.
Wouldn't say run, more a quick walk.....
19. They like to feel in control and create time frames that suit them, often treating the person like a puppet on a string.
Control yes, treating someone like a puppet NO
20. They don’t like structure, particularly in their personal life.
I like structure I just haven't figured out how to get it
21. They tend to compartmentalize their life and keep their work environment, friends or family off limits. They can create wonderful excuses why the person shouldn’t meet these people.
My sister climbed Mount Kilimanjaro.. Fell off and broke every bone in her body... Haven't used that one yet.....LOL
They hate planning ahead because that means commitments
Yeah I don't plan I live for the moment
Have we met.......LMAO
Seriously some of your list is me some of it isn't...... Do I want to commit to someone NO......

Police Aggression

Now there's a ridiculous and extremely uneducated statement. Do you have any idea at all what it was like to live under Soviet rule? I doubt it. I have a business in an ex-soviet country and one of my business partners was brought up under soviet rule. Some of his stories would make your hair curl.
Shhhhhhhhhhhsssssssss, between you me and these four walls, people used to disappear and never come back.......that's on the low though, wouldn't want the uneducated to find out......
notice that in all the media hysteria about 'out of control' Policemen no comment has been made about the thug who was beating a Policemen around the head with a wooden pole. This was widely shown on the day of the riots but nothing seems to have been said about it since.
Not news worthy now is it....... People have to have something to moan about you know corrupt officials and all that....... and so called police brutality sells papers and puts money in the pockets of the wealthy....

Didn't we learn the last time there was a big to do regarding aggressive police and a women, if memory serves me right she was extremely aggressive destructive to private property and the media only showed an extremely small clip of CCTV footage, showing the force that was being used by the police to restrain her...... not what led up to it,
Hey I'm all force if it's needed.... at the end of the day I wasn't there... SO who is to say what led up to it....
protest peacefully being eroded.
problem with peaceful protests is there is always those fanatics who have this nasty habit of ensuring a peaceful protest goes to pot.....Hense police brute force at times

I have to ask why people seem so surprised when they hear things like this.... It's been happening for a while, nothing new..... and society being society turned a blind eye to it..... doesn't effect them so isn't their problem...... it's becomes news for a few days people moan about the terrible things these kids are doing.... then when it's not news worthy anymore forget about it and go on with their own life like it never happened.... So once again why they surprise?

NHS bosses award themselves inflation-busting 7.5pc rises (but nurses get just 1.9pc)

And this surprises you? why are you so surprised?....
They have been getting paid over the odds for years, while those who do the grunt work get penuts.... Heres one for you, a nursing director in a West London hospital £80'000 plus a year, and for what, now that's the question....
The big wigs are over paid, but then that's nothing new.... ever wondered where a lot of the money that has been pumped into the NHS has gone to and we are talking over £60 billion since labour came in in 1997...... Lots of wastage.....
