British & Irish Lions

ya of course its the s. hemisphere. just a typo...
the original reason of the lions was because in days gone by, northern players had very little oppertunity to play their southern brothers. national teams didnt tour that much. now its different. the autumn internationals have been established as a way of pitting the north against the south. money reasons loom large in this series.
soooo, the lions concept is outdated. it will take eight or maybe twelve years for this message to sink through to those who matter most, but it will.

there needs to be a serious conversation in the halls of the irb in merrion square about the realism and viability of continuing with this outdated series. my view is that with the advent of professional rugby, players, clubs etc cant afford a trip to the northern hemisphere for a month or so. this is because the season starts so soon that if injuries are accrued, celtic league and maybe european games will become non contested affairs with second string sides lining out. also, we've seen the reluctance on s. africa to release their players for the midweek game. thus making those games none events. so, whats the point in playing them?
man...those games were brutal. expect players to take time getting over this experience.

Vagina names...
Posted: 6/24/2009 3:01:48 PM
hi all. i was watching germaine greer (british feminist) some months ago on tv. she was discussing the origins of the words c**t and vagina. she said that vagina was an old latin military (or was it greek?) term for the sheath for the sword. so, over time vagina became known as the natural place for the penis. the word c**t on the other hand has its origins in old celtic and germanic language. the c word (..and i hate to use asterixes etc for this) alluded to how females were highly regarded in those cultures. i suppose early pagans prayed to Danu who was the feminine god of fertility and women were an integral part of that society unlike our ciivilisation where the girls were on the periphery of things and continue to be on some levels.
i actually like the sound of c**t. Its powerful and its real unlike vagina which alludes to a warped femininity which belongs to the realm of romantic novels and unnatural ideals.

Where's a good place for a single girl to visit in Ireland?
Posted: 6/22/2009 2:50:14 PM
hi. im living in clare but from limerick. i think the best thing you can do is get a plane into shannon airport which is also in clare. to the north of shannon, there is galway, connemara etc (google it). to the south, you have kerry and cork. all of these counties have beutiful scenery & beaches. google buratty castle, cliffs of moher, the burren, lahinch beach. aran islands, dingle. kinsale.
sure, temple bar in dublin is fun but its not authentic. its the pub quarter but its in existence for less than 20 years. galway city is much more fun & real.
look me up if you do decide to come. ill be you tour guide!!

opinions please
Posted: 5/25/2009 1:14:59 PM
hi all. thanks for all of your opinions. to those who think this is a 'nice guy' thread. for the most part, my pals will say im obnoxious, funny, quiet, loud, great company, shit company. a bag of contradictions i know, but one thing im not and thats a 'nice guy'. i dislike that term coz no one is that nice that they dont have their own agendas going on in their head.
anyway, ive learnt a hard lesson with that gal. something ill keep in mind for future.
cheers.

hi all. ive been on three dates with this cute girl. it all seemed to go well untill we spent most of the day together. when i dropped her home, she gave me the 'its me, not you' type line. she went on about how she doesnt know if she wants to date anyone because of her past experience (shes seperated with a 15 yr old boy)
now, i have a disability (limp in right leg) and our day long date meant we had to walk quite a bit. i wonder is that it?
when she said she didnt know if POF, dating wasnt for her, i kind of believed her. next thing i notice, shes online again. shes even online as i write this. now, im a big boy, i can take rejection. but why does she come across all damaged, hurt etc when she seems she cant get enough of this site?

going on first date
Posted: 4/24/2009 11:25:26 AM
hi all. im going on a first date with a gal i met on another site. instead of the normal 'chat over coffee' type scenario, im taking her to a pet farm where both of us can have a giggle, have a stroll around cute creatures etc..
my question is, whats the ettiquette assocciated with meeting someone on a first date. we've chatted on the phone for about three weeks and seem to get on. im just nervous that whatever connection we 'seem' to have will dwindle if i dont handle this date in the correct manner. any suggestions appreciated.
