I think that there is a difference between "bad grammer", and "terrible grammer". I can forgive bad grammer. English is a complicated language, and I have been known to butcher it from time to time. As long as I understand what the sender was trying to say, I'll respond. Noowwwwwwwww ifffffffffz IIIIEYES geztz aaa massage liiiiiiiikey dis on me malebox, EYE deleat it. Either that, or I'll e-mail the sender to ask them if they've failed English. I usually recieve, "Me fail engish? That's unpossible".

The problem is in your spelling and grammar. Quite frankly, your writing makes you seem like one of those e-mail scammers from China or India. Any woman, who knows the ins and outs of the web, will be skeptical of you right off the bat. Also keep in mind that women on this site, especially the more attractive ones, receive dozens of e-mails a day. Meaning that they are not going to waste time trying to read your attempts at the English language. This is not meant to be an insult towards your intelligence. Fact is, some of the most intelligent people I know are absolutely terrible with words. Unfortunately, in the online world, people judge you by your grammar. Your best bet is to have a neighbor or friend type up your profile for you. Your profile should state that you are terrible with words and had to have someone type it up for you. You can make a joke out of the situation, and this will avoid making you look dishonest later. E-mails are going to be tricky for you. Use simple, yet well thought out sentences. Say what you want to say out loud before you type it. SPELL CHECK is your friend. Get her phone number and get away from the keyboard conversations ASAP. Good luck.

He may have been yanking her chain when he said that, which isn't good in and of itself, but the later refusal to take the card down makes it definite, IMO. If he was yanking her chain, it would mean that there is resentment in the relationship. Given the gravity of this situation, saying such a thing is borderline malicious. He may use this resentment to justify cheating on his current girlfriend with his ex. Now if he was sincere in his statement, it would mean that he is just waiting for the ex to "come to her senses and take him back", in which case he leaves his current girlfriend for the ex. In any event, OP, please just keep your eyes open.

Then he said maybe it's me not being over her... I was so pissed. Cutie, re-read the last two sentences in post #14. Your guy just confirmed what I said. Now what do you think is going to happen, if by some chance, the ex falls from the sky naked and ends on his lap? Run away before you get caught up in a nasty little love triangle.

I personally couldn't dump anyone online, or even on the phone for that matter. Every time that I have dumped a girl, it has been in person. I find it best to be honest, and attempt to be friends "without benefits". Ummm...the friends thing doesn't usually work out, but I feel a little better knowing that I take the higher ground. E-dumping just seems to lack class.

Well, she's a twat. OTOH, OP, did you talk to her online or on the phone for a while before going out on the date? Surely she showed some signs of being a shallow idiot. And I really don't get why she would agree to go on the date, and then bail in such a disrespectful way. I'm not a huge "hockey fan" by any means, but had I been in her shoes, I would understand that you weren't exactly a "stones throw away" from the arena and I would have sucked it up. For crying out loud, it would have been fun watching the game. Ugh...self centered people like this really are unbelievable. Once again, this girl is a shallow twat... I've found that the best results in finding good women is achieved by employing a healthy dose of sarcastic wit. The good women will appreciate this, and will joke around with you. The bad women will call you a pig, and will then go back to their cave to mastermind their plan of stealing Christmas....or something.

The first line sounds a little frustrated . . . where you say "it can't be this hard . . ." EVERYONE reading this site has the same emotions you do, that is why we are here, but it's not a positive vibe to start your introduction on. Introduce yourself, not your frustration. Agreed 100%. The first thought that you are putting into a woman's mind is that you're a bit of a downer. Keep things light and fun. Yes, dating becomes frustrating at times, but there is no need to advertise that. In addition, I would get rid of the "What makes me different from most guys is that I'm a very good listener who loves helping his friends out when they have problems" line. People love to surround themselves with good people, but are also skeptical whenever someone comes right out and states that they are a good person. In other words, "people love to buy, but hate to be sold". If in fact you are a good person, a woman will be able to see that through your e-mails, texts, and eventually (hopefully) through your actions in person. Finally, try using your current #2 pic as your main photo. It's a nice professional shot and is very eye catching. It also beats the pics that most of us other "schlubs" around here are using.

but that was 4 years ago... how can you still be hung up on a woman after 4 yrs? Believe it or not, some people have trouble with "letting things go". If you talk to the ex, I would bet that this is one of the reasons why she broke up with him. Some guys have problems with moving on, and some girls as well. I know a girl who dated a guy about 7 years ago. He dumped her 6 years ago, and she's still not over it. Some people simply can't move on. Now it is true that many men ignore fine details. Hence the "spider web" jokes posted earlier. Now one thing that no respectful man would do is leave pics of his ex hanging on the wall for his current girlfriend to see. Quite frankly this says that, "I'm dating you, but my heart belongs to the girl who is part of my living room decor".

The only time I have ever seen a guy keep pictures of his ex is when he isn't over her. Nuff said.

If a guy is talking to a bunch of women and one of the women wants to do a little "dirty dancing", the guy assumes that that particular woman is the most interested in him. That seems to make sense to me. What confuses me is when an intellgent person, who has a lot going on for them, decides to get into a long term relationship with a flakey leach. And I've seen this happen to both guys and girls. I really have no answer as to why this happens, but I'm assuming that hormones are involved in the equation. And I wouldn't say that all guys are looking for "high maintenance floosy" type girls either. I would never consider getting into a relationship with someone that I can not have a decent conversation with, and I know a lot of guys who feel the same way. ps. Don't expect men like us to hang out at dance clubs. We prefer "floosy free" environments.

This act (along with bad cell etiquette ) is one of my most annoying pet peeves. I don't know you, not sure if I like you, (and if I am/we are connecting we will know it) and yet some men force this close and personal act. Ok, maybe force was too strong a word, but it does make it awkward when I involuntarily step back and away from this unsolicited contact. Studies show if a women wants more from you................SHE WILL TOUCH YOU FIRST! Arm squeeze, knocking knees, bumping elbows whatever. Usually accompanied by a smile, laughter and eye contact. So, gentlemen, if you care to answer I am all ears. Well, aren't you a friendly one. While I do agree that if a woman is interested she will touch first, a hug is a hug for cryin out loud. Sheesh, would you prefer having the guy just flip you off at the end of the night telling you, "This date sucked"? I can't believe that this is actually a discussion.

Was he wearing a ring on his left hand or was their a much lighter band where it should have been. If your serious you need to find out about his background, call his Mother or friends he mentioned, You know cover your ass. If he protests he has something to hide and you should be aware of it. I hate to sound cynical, but I was thinking the same thing when I read the original post. Guys just do not ignore attractive women who like them. Nope, never, not in a million years. The only time a guy will flake out on nice attractive lady is when there is a wife or g/f who will make his life a living hell if she catches him cheating. Just my 2 cents.
