Special Potatoe Recipe - Need help please!
Posted: 4/10/2006 9:19:08 AM
Hey Kitkat. It sounds to me they might be "MoJo Potatoes". Here is a recipe you can try. This recipe is from a popular pizza place in my area that used to make the best Mojo's, but I havent tryed making this recipe. However, the MoJo's I have ate were cut like large thick french fries, but im sure any shape would do.

I would cut recipe in half or maybe 1/4 and try it out first. And maybe add a little baking powder/soda to it, but may not have to. Let me know how it comes out if you try it. :)

Fresh Potatoes
Canola Cooking Oil ( I would use Vegetable oil)
2 Eggs
4 Cups Of Flour
All Season Salt
1/2 teaspoon cayenne
2 teaspoons thyme
2 tablespoons of milk
1 tablespoon of slightly melted butter

Place eggs in bowl and beat. Add milk, butter & mix.
Place Flour, Thyme & Cayenne in second bowl.
Place Oil 3 inches deep in Frying Pan
Cut each potato into 6 (1/4-inch) Mojo rounds
Place MoJo rounds in egg mixture covering completely
Then Roll MoJo potatoes in Flour Mixture.
Place MoJo potatoes on cookie tray while others are battered
Once all MoJo potatoes are battered drop in frying pan.
Make sure oil covers the MoJo potatoes completely. If needed add more oil.
Once golden brown, and cooked, drain oil and add all season salt.
Serve.

how to get girlfriend to moveout
Posted: 3/24/2006 10:53:31 AM
If she leaves your house for a day, get some buds to help you, and move all her stuff out onto a driveway or something. Call a locksmith, change locks on your door and maybe she will get the message. Legaly, she can come back at you for kicking her out if she has lived with you for a certain amount of time, but its your word against hers, and whoever has the better lawyer. Better you than me pal, but I feel for ya.

Sea Salt??

I couldnt find a direct website for Spike, although I googled a link, Kitkat, and shows what Spike has in it. I am sure you can have it shipped to Canada. They have a salt free Spike also (which may be what you have in mind), but being a salt lover, I like the salted one.

It is definatly worth a try! I know some salt substitutes like No-Salt, etc. 'can' be worse for ones health than salt & sodium is. ;)

Sea Salt??
Posted: 3/15/2006 6:55:22 AM
Sea salt is supposed to be better for you than earth-mined salt, but salt is salt and it will all eventualy kill you if overused. Personaly, I am a saltaholic and love sea salt If your looking for a healthy alternative, stay away from it all together. If you love salt, try a seasoning blend called "Spike". It has a ton of spices blended together along with sea salt crystals. Its awesome!

sex after prostate surgery
Posted: 2/6/2006 1:17:20 PM
I had prostate problems. I am usualy shy to mention that to a woman. I always think that they may think I have something contagious, and that isnt true. But most women I have dated are understanding and accept it. But its all a matter of preference I guess. If she doesnt accept your problem, then she isnt worth it.

Hope your surgery went well, and the best of luck to you!

Prostate hurting?!?!
Posted: 2/6/2006 1:05:26 PM
Proscar is supposed to be good, but it wont cure a prostate infection. Enlarged yes, inflamed, maybe, infection NO. I had to take it for a prostate inflamation 3 years ago, but the price is expensive, even with insurance. It is an Alfa Blocker and shrinks the prostate. Have him see 2 or 3 other urologists if one doesnt do the trick. Most urologist's assume that if your young, you wont have prostate problems, and that is false!

Have him order them to do an ultrasound, and other tests and see if it is enlarged. You have to almost tell them what you want done, since most M.D's hate to have their intelect insulted, they usualy refuse and say your wrong unless you pin them down. Eventualy, you may find one that will actualy listen. If everything is clean, (i.e. urine test, blood, etc.,) it might be nonbacterial prostatitis which is very dificult to treat.

If it is prostatitis, diet is one main thing. If he drinks alchohol, coffee, tea, or eats spicy foods, eliminate them for awhile and see what happens. I know, I have been there.

Try the herbals, cant hurt none. And see a DOCTOR!

Lonely border crossings : The sinister truth !
Posted: 2/4/2006 9:03:09 AM
The whole world hates us, Kitty. Canada is manipulated by a very liberal media that speaks half truths about the U.S., and what is really going on. They hate us cause Bush is in power. When the time comes and we get a liberal president, (God forbid), the hatred will then drop. I say let them hate us. What good are they to the United States anyways? Other than being a harborer for our enemies and terrorists. If it wasnt for the United States, Canada would have been part of either Communist Russia, or Nazi Germany after WWII. And so would the rest of the world.

We really need a wall around the United States, and ban all imports and exports, and isolate the rest of the world. Let the world fend for itself. We can then see how long it would take for the French to have their country fall and be taken again, and let Canada follow along with it. Remove ourselves from the U.N., and let Germany build up its reich once again, (which they would in a heartbeat give them the chance). Let the middle east kill each other like they have been doing before Christ was even born, and long before the U.S. was to blame for it. And let Iran, Iraq, and the rest of the middle east go ahead and build their nukes.

Then lets see who the real bad guys and killers are, and who comes crying at our doorstep for protection!

Stupid Question Please?
Posted: 1/28/2006 7:24:17 PM
Not really fishcakes, since they are usualy only made with cornmeal like the recipes above. If you add fish to it it may taste like a fishcake. That old guy I mentioned in my previous post above used crayfish, but some people put chiles, jalepenos, maybe some grated cheese in the batter, etc. I like them plain, myself. Thats why they are traditionaly fried after the blackend catfish so the seasonings that come off the catfish blends with the oil and then adds that certain flavor to the puppys.

Stupid Question Please?
Posted: 1/28/2006 3:01:05 PM
When I was stationed in Louisiana, an old cajun told me that true hushpuppies should be cooked in the oil that the catfish was fryed in, or else they are just plain "cornpones". But everyone has their own methods I guess. He made his with pieces of cooked crawdads (crayfish) in them.

What Kinds of Food Did you Eat as a Kid?
Posted: 1/28/2006 1:03:43 PM
White beans and hocks....mmmmm. I think I will make that today, sounds good. As for me, I ate everything that my parents cooked. My parents had diferent backgrounds, so was a wide variety. Everything from lasagna, menudo, tamales, chicken and dumplings, hamhocks and collards, tacos, boiled beef tongue, to liver and onions 'which I dont eat today' but sure did then. There was no such thing as "I dont want or like that" when I was growing up. Either you ate what was cooked or go hungry for the night, or get the switch or both Good food and good disipline, unlike this day of age where the kids run their parents and tell them what to fix for dinner.

Funny thing, I wrote a a couple girls in prison once when I seen their ad in an Outlaw Biker magazine. A friend of mine told me to try it out, so I did. This was before the internet existed or was popular. One wrote me back (snail mail) describing herself, and wanted a picture of me on my Harley. I never sent it cause I got to thinking all sorts of horrible things of what might happen. So I went with my first instinct, and I am still glad I never did reply back.

Sorry to hear you had a rough time. You cant be afraid of trash like that. Get a restraining order on them. I am not sure how Canadian laws work with restraning orders, but in the US, they cant come within so many yards from you, or they are in deep shit. If you charge them with harrasment, file the restraining order along with it if you can. I know it is easyer said that done, but you really should.

even though we (americans) really value the opinions of our neighbors to the north....or in my case south as well.....you need to start worring about yours after what happened with your election......you guys are screwed....conservatives in canada....good luck with that...

I 100% agree with you Bacon! Canada hates the U.S. anyways. Their liberal ways will never ever work here, same as conservatives in Canada. They have no idea that if it wasnt for the USA that they hate so much, they would have been under Soviet rule after WWII ended. Then again, I am sure they wouldnt mind that since libertarian is pretty much socialist/communism anyways. And the French would have let themselves be taken again as always

4 year old boy murders himself. Are we sure the gun didn't do it?
Posted: 1/25/2006 6:54:35 PM
My best friend once had a firearms shop, and in 98, someone came into his store, then shot and killed him, and stole all his inventory of handguns. Yes I was devistated over his death, but I do not blame the firearms that killed him. I blame the murdering thug(s) that did it, which they never caught. I also had a friend in the Marines that I fought along side with that was killed by an AK round.

Since then, my firearms collection has grown, and will continue to grow. My friends would never want me to change my mind about owning firearms, or to hand my arms over to the government, and its something I will never ever do while I am alive & breathing. Its the people that pulled the trigger, same as getting behind a wheel and running someone down deliberatly. Same as stabbing someone. Same as taking a baseball bat to somebody. Machines and weapons dont do the killing, people do.

skip the cheese dip and salsa con queso. Real cheese is better and just as easy. Oh and ench ends are left open. This is nearly a burrito.

What are you, Chef Emeril or something? Long as its good, who cares what kind of cheese or salsa is used in it, or if it isnt a truly "authentic" enchilada.

Black Eyed Peas
Posted: 1/10/2006 3:42:49 PM
Was going to write out my recipe but Wespauleys recipe is very close to mine. Only I bake mine with rice the way my grandparents used to do every new years eve.

Add 1 cup of cooked white rice and 1 lb. cooked black eyed peas in a casserole dish. Add some of the juice from the peas, maybe 1 cup or so so it doesnt dry out. Mix together, with a tablespoon of bacon greese (unless you wanna go healthy do without, doesnt matter mcuh) and bake uncovered for 35 min, at 350 degrees F.

Have to have hamhocks and collard greens with it though!
